How to define all my constants in one .h file in iPad? - iphone

I am working on an application where i have to use several constants.I want to declare all those constants in one single .h file.Can any one suggest me a way to achieve this.

You can define all required header files and constants in the ProjectName_Prefix.pch(located under the Other Sources folder of your project) file.In this way you are not required to declare the libraries,constants required in multiple classes.

create constants.h put all you constants into it and #import "constants.h" in your Prefix.pch
or if you don't want to recompile the whole project if you change something in constants.h just import the file in the sourcefiles where you need it.
The latter approach saves a lot of time if you use an old mac mini for development on a project which has 200MB of png files.

use swift file into Objective-C project

Can anyone tell me how can I use swift file into my objective-C project?
I have a swift file which inherits from UIViewController instead of NSObject. I am trying to use the swift file but I am not able to figure out how.
When I add my swift file into objective-C project, it usually asks to create a bridging header.
In that header file I am importing my swift file as -
#import "SlideController.swift"
and my bridging file name is objcToSwift-Bridging-Header.h
I read many answers which asks to import file
#import "MyProductModuleName-Swift.h"
into the .m file, but I can't find any such file in my project.
I also changed the defines module = YES as shown in another answer.
But still I am not able to access swift file.
What am I missing? Please tell me the right steps to figure it out.
After you created Bridging header.
Go to Build Setting =>Search for "Objective-C Bridging Header"
Just below you will find ""Objective-C Generated Interface Header Name" file
and import That file in your view controller.
ex.In my case: "Dauble-Swift.h"

iPhone - How to modify a static library (.a file)

I was given an static library (.a extension file) that I have to use in a project, however I need to modify some of the source code before it is useful to me. What is the best way to accomplish this?
The easy-but-most-of-the-time-not-applicable solutions are subclassing or extending.
You can also try to decompile the .a file if its licence authorizes it: cf. Decompiling Objective-C libraries, but it can be tricky and/or illegal.
You cannot modify a static library, your best bet is to try to get access to the sources or ask the author to modify it for you.
You may use a Objective C extension.
For example, there's a [MyClass myMethod] in the .a lib, and you want to change this one, the following code might be used:
#import "MyClass.h"
#interface MyClass( CategoryName )
-(void)myMethod;
#end
#implementation MyClass( CategoryName )
-(void)myMethod
{
//new implementation goes here
}
#end
You cannot modify a library, only extend. That's kind of the point - to distribute the functionality behind your code without people being able to read it.

Trying to use the STHorizontalPicker Library from GitHub but getting multiple errors

I'm trying to use the open source STHorizontalPicker library to implement a horizontal picker to my project but when importing the .m and .h files from GitHub to my project I'm getting multiple errors when compiling.
Does it require any special implementation?
I'm simply copying the .h and .m and adding to the project. Error are like : property 'cornerRatius' cannot be found in forward class object 'CALayer'...
Do I have to import some class to those files ?

Yes, you'll need Quartz.

Xcode Static Library Template... build doesn't contain headers?

So I'm using the Static Library template included in Xcode. Right now just trying to build a simple template to see how static libraries really work.
Anyways in my static library I have two classes:
mylibrary (.h/.m) - This is simply an NSObject
modalView (.h/.m) - This is a UIViewController
The problem though is when I build the static library. The project builds the mylibrary.a file... however there is no "Headers" folder in the output. This means that when I add the library to my other project it gives "undefined" errors because it can't find the .h file for myLibrary.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

You need to drag .h files to the new project, along with .a file

iPhone SDK : How to localize a Class?

I am trying to localize a class (.h & .m files) in my application. I made the same operation as when I localized my interface (xib -> Get info -> make file localizable). I created a second .h and a second .m file, and I made the modifications I needed for the new location. Great !
But it just doesn't work...
I get the error:
duplicate symbol _OBJC_METACLASS_
Does anyone have a clue ? Thanks a lot !
you are just on the wrong path..
For localization you need not create separate .m & .h files.Only Xibs are to be created.
Other than that you have to create separate Localizable.strings file for each localization.
