Closing tab bar controllers - iphone

I'm pretty new to iphone programming. I have come up with a problem when using a tab bar controller that I cannot solve. I have an app with 2 tabs each tab uses separate class files and nib files. I use a shake gesture to tell the app to do something but when I changed from tab two back to tab one shake the phone it does the action of the second view not the current view, the current view remains unchanged after the shake.
Am I missing something here? Do I need to release something?

The accelerometer delegate doesn't change when you switch the tabs in that implementation, because viewDidLoad is only called when the view is loaded into memory and not when displayed.
You could try setting it in the - viewDidAppear:animated method. If that also fails, have a look at the UITabBarControllerDelegate protocol and – tabBarController:didSelectViewController: method. First you need to create and assign the tab bar controller delegate, then implement the method. It could look something like this:

Your view controllers probably aren't set as the first responder. So when you're looking at the view controller on Tab 1, the view controller on Tab 2 is receiving the motion event. I'm making a lot of assumptions here, mind you.
Add this code to both of your view controllers, and as you switch to each of them they will take over as the first responder.

Navigating to another view using the UINavigationController

I'm using the UINavigationController in my app and for some reason it won't allow me to switch pages to the third xib called CompanyView. It switches fine from first to second but not second third. I'm probably doing something wrong but if someone could look over my code that would be great. I've got the button set correctly I believe.

Your "gosafari" method implementation is incorrectly titled - should be "goSafari" to match the specified selector and method prototype.

shouldStartLoadwithRequest not getting called in subclass

I have a view controlled app. On my xib I have no webviews but I do have buttons that bring up classes that have webviews. So hit button one and a uiwebview pops up so on and so forth.
Now in one of my classes I pull up a remote webpage that has a link on it. I want to over-ride that button link with shouldStartLoadwithrequest. How ever this never seems to get called.
Right now my class is called Tenth.m and I have this code in my view controller

My first guess is that the Web view does not have its delegate set. In order for it to call
- (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView*)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest*)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType
The class containing this method needs to be set as the webview's delegate. So somewhere in the code there should be a line similar to webView.delegate = <variable>, where the variable is the instance of the class which has implemented the shouldStartLoadWithRequest: method.
This is often "self" when the webView is a subview of a viewController's view. But the way you have described your application, I am not sure if it will be self or not, but it sounds like it will not be self, but the name of the instance of a different class.
Maybe try this:

Keeping UIButton highlighted

Hey!
I have a xib file were i would like a round rect button to stay highlighted after it is pressed. I also would like to have a different button that is pressed after the first one that takes you to the next page. How can I do this. Some code would be greatly appreciated!

You will have to use the highlighted property of the button to set the state as highlighted or otherwise. However doing immediately on Touch Up Inside seems to reset it. So we delay the change until the next run loop starts. Do this on the method called on touch.

Set Delegate methods on child view controll

I am building an application which should allow the user to scroll through the images. Since I have many images (downloaded from the web), what i doing is I have UP and down button on the parent view, in addition i have the scroll view. Based on the selected option (up or down), I add the ImageClass ( created a class which extends UIViewController) view to the scroll view.
Now, on the selected view the user can mark a point or do any stuff.
The question is how from the parent view I can call methods of the Uiviewcontroller. I know how I can set the delegate methods but what I want is that parent controller can call any a method say redraw method which would redraw the entire view.

First, CSImageView should probably be a subclass of UIView, not UIViewController. You should keep a reference to your instance (i.e. as an instance variable or synthesized property) so you can access it from methods other than - down:.

During this part...add a tag to the view

Then on the parent
view controller. You can ...
