How to track/handle changes made by other users to source contorl shared emf resource - eclipse

Our project saves the model in xml resource file. The xml resource tags get listed as nodes in project explorer. This project is part of source control and been worked upon by multiple users. I am able to handle all enotifications and take appropriate actions when user performs the changes in his workspace. Though when other users change the model file, and the new synced file is obtained in other workspace, I get only notification that xml file was modified. What exact model changes were done is not received.
Things work fine if user closes and open the project.Though this is not the right solution. I tried doing resource.unload followed by resource.load.This didn't make any difference. How can I achieve the desired result programmaticaly?

EMF Compare should be able to help you in comparing two files, but I'm not sure if it integrates well with SCMs.

New file in template is not accessed

I am trying to display results in a web page. I want to link this from the waterfall page of buildbot. But when I useclick , the required web page does not open. I have placed this new web page in the templates directory. Is there something more that needs to be done?
Since the results you want to display are produced by one of your builds,
the waterfall web templates are not relevant, since they are templates
for the whole waterfall, including all builds, whether or not they
are builds that produce these particular results.
If you wish to provide links to some files generated by a build, you select
a buildstep in the build, or create one for the purpose, that will provide
those links within its status box in the waterfall display (e.g. in the
way that a ShellCommand buildstep provides a link to its stdio log).
For example, you might just add a final step to the build with the description
Report or Publish.
You must write a customized BuildStep class to execute the step that you select
or create. Your customized BuildStep class must be derived from LoggingBuildStep,
or from a class, such as ShellCommand, that is already derived from LoggingBuildStep.
The necessary customization is to override the createSummary method with
your own implementation, and in that implementation call the addURL method to adds URL(s)
to the file(s) you want to publish to the buildstep's status box. You can add as
many URLs as you like. Here is an outline example:

Now, when ReportingStep completes, its status box will contain

What if my files are saved locally and for now I just want the user to have a link to download the zipped files?
From what I understand, the above customization will help provide an external url.
The user clicks a link that is served from your buildmaster. If your
build just saves these files locally, then they're saved on the buildslave.
So unless your buildslave is on the same machine as the buildmaster then the link has to be URL to an "external" file.
On the other hand, if your buildstep uploads the file to the buildmaster,
then the link can be a link to local file - local on the buildmaster, which
is serving the link.
If your buildslave is on the same machine as your buildmaster, then obviously
you don't need to do any uploading:
addURL("Report",file:///path/to/the/zipfile.zip)
But remember, if you want the content at these links to be persistent then
/path/to/the/zipfile.zip had better not be somewhere that gets clobbered
by every build.

Getting RTC stream name from Project explorer or Navigator

Is there any API or way in which we can get the RTC stream name from the Project explorer or Navigator view selection in eclipse.
I am creating a RTC util which needs some basic inputs like stream name or project (that user select on navigator), which in turn communicates with RTC in doing our project related activies.
Project explorer / Navigator shows the users local repository name, but i am unable go get those, these two views provide the file as IFile or IResource(IFolder, IProject.. etc) or ICompliationUnits.
which gives only the path of the file.
So Is there anyway where i can get those stream name from those project/file that user select.

I finally found with little exploration. here it goes.
Once the Project (created) or loaded throught RTC,
Projects get the additionals details added to its lable, like RTC component and Respository they came from.
Since the Project explorer view is a tree viewer, cast the selection to TreeSelection and using the getText() method, get the complete display name of that tree item.
Which by parsing gives the user repository name.
Using that as a repository name, query the RTC for user "WORKSPACE" and get the user repository connection and get its flow target (both delivery and accept), which is mostly where there user repository created from.
And this solves my probelm as i want only the current delivery flowtarget (no matter where the user repository created from).

How to present static file results that are generated at different time to client in play 2?

I am writing a web service using play 2.0 in scala.
After getting client's configuration parameters, then the web service will take a while to generate some files. (Note: some files can be short, some other files can take long).
I figured out how to get client's configurations and trigger my computation,
now I need to present the generated files to client side at the end of the session.
So questions are:
How to present the files to client?
I'm thinking about returning a static folder link to client, so that they can go into the folder to
see further what files are there, and so when clicking on the files, the details of the files can be shown, either jpg or text.
But how?
How to not to block client during the generation of the files?
For example, client can still click on the files that are available at that moment.
Then here comes the third question:
How to let the client side know that the long-time computation file is available and listed in the folder?
I'm pretty new to web application, thanks for any suggestion, advice, or little examples are greatly appreciated too!
I would create a web interface to show the created files to your clients and create a background job to for the long computation process. You can create a wait page where a javascript check if the file is created.

How do I edit files in place that were uploaded to Moodle?

I would like a better workflow for debugging uploaded SCOs. As things are, I must edit a file in the activity, repackage, upload, and test. Often, I just need to change a single line of code. It would be VERY nice to be able to edit that file, that line of code, on the server. So far, all I've found is that Moodle manages the files, so it seems impractical to locate and decipher the renamed files after upload.
Is there a way to configure Moodle so that it doesn't rename and relocated files in SCOs upon extraction? Actually, I'm open to any suggestions on the best, fastest workflow for debugging SCOs.
Problem background
Since Moodle 2.0, files are no longer stored on server in the conventional /this/is/the/path/to/my.file way. Instead, files are rehashed and stored in Repositories (i.e. spread all over the moodledata folder as a collection of seemingly random data). This increases security and cross-OS compatibility but complicates stuff for people who would like to simply upload a SCORM zip package via FTP. Here's more information on file handling in Moodle 2.0
Path to the soluton
Let's locate the file you want to update, then update it.
Run phpmyadmin, go to mdl_files table, find your file by name in the filename field (let's say it's portrait.jpg)
Look at the contenthash field, it'll look like abcde1234567890. This means your file is stored in moodledata/filedir/ab/cd/ folder under the name abcde1234567890.
Rename the updated portrait.jpg to abcde1234567890, upload and overwrite.
Go back to phpmyadmin and update the filesize field in record for portrait.jpg with the size of the updated file.
Obviously, this process can be automated. You'll have to write a script that allows you to upload a file, then it'll search for that file in mdl_files, save it to the correct folder and update all fields accordingly.
Alternative idea
Enable external package type (and also enable 'Update on every launch'). Go to Site administration / Plugins / Activities / SCORM and check the box down below. Now you'll be able to launch SCORM packages directly from another server, so Moodle won't mess with it. Of course, you can run in other (probably cross-domain related) problems.
Sergey's answer is very good, with one caveat:
In his example with the contenthash of abcde1234567890, the file is stored in the moodledata/filedir/ab/cd/ folder under the name abcde1234567890. Moodle uses the full contenthash to name the file.

Trying to get along with Interwoven

I am to create a new design (CSS & HTML) for a web site which is created using Interwoven ContentCenter Professional.
Now, I can see the existing files in CMS (Interwoven) but, I can't make changes. My changes are displayed only when I'm in edit mode. Nothing in the live page. I tried to submit, create editions of files but still no good.
How should I create or edit pages in Interwoven CMS?

If you're talking about generic pages, then once you are finished you have to click on the Generate option, then choose a directory and click Finish. Last thing you should do is to choose yeswhen it asks you to Re-generate the page.
What you are trying to do is just creating a new file, not generating a file from TeamSite's Formpublisher. It is just like if you are in Windows Explorer and creating a new file. In order to generate a file from a form entry, you need to be in the templatedata directory, ex: /default/main/branch1/WORKAREA/wa1/templatedata/category/type(on unix) or Y:/default/main/branch1/WORKAREA/wa1/templatedata/category/type (on Windows). There should be a file call datacapture.cfg there. There is another directory called data under the above path which stores your data content record (dcr) that are created from the form. This is the file that you can use to generate which will use the (tpl) file under the presentation directory.
