I am looking for a particular example of a native 3rd party iphone app that can be launched from within mobile safari. While I read here that this is feasible using a custom URL scheme, I could not find any evidence for that online.

Your question is not very clear as to what you want. If you're looking for a list of supported custom URL schemes, there's no official list. There are user maintained lists though:

You mean from within the Safari browser on the device? I believe it supports the W3C Geolocation API Specification. Additionally, the Safari developer library has information on the subject. I don't know if the two are overlapping or mutually exclusive (I haven't tried), but at least one should work.

Are you talking about 3rd party applications or the inbuilt applications of the iPhone?
If you are talking about 3rd party application then forget it.. As told by #KingOfBliss apple restricts it.
And if you want to open inbuilt applications like camera, photo, contacts,safari web then you can do it.

Applications can register a custom URL format, and then other applications can call that URL to trigger that application, pass it data, etc. Some of Apple's built-ins have URL formats that they've published, and some 3rd party apps have (and advertise) them too. If you're building more than one app, you can obviously customize your URL scheme to have your apps talk to each other more or less freely.
Apple restrict you to open 3rd party application, but you can open some application like safari,contacts,etc.,
I have read some post about apps programming for Iphone and Android, but I have one question. Is it posible when there is a mobile website optimized for mobile phones, that I can create apps for Iphone, Android, Win 7 and Blackberry, that only statrts the browser as instance and display the mobile website? What do you think, is this ok? Do you have any ideas or examples for that kind of apps? I mean this is not an app, that should be has access to the hardware of the phone, only web app.

This would work.
You could create an app that consists merely of a webview into which you load your content. The content could be loaded over the mobile network or be stored locally.
However most users (including yours truly) strongly dislike apps that merely present a single website to the user, because of the long delays if the content is loaded over the mobile network every time and because the UI is, in many cases, very different to what the he or she is used to from native apps.
Most users fail to see the need for a specialized app just to visit a website which they could as well keep as a favorite in their mobile browser. On the iPhone, you may even add favorite websites as icons on your homescreen, so there is no need for apps presenting a single website at all.
It's not only possible, such things are already done. One example I know of is cookd, a restaurant guide for Vienna. But there are some constraints; for example, cookd requires GPS data for the "Nearby" option; on my Android phone (HTC Legend), this is possible when I open the web page directly in the browser (the browser asks if I want to allow cookd.com to get this info); but the same webpage, running in an application that does nothing more than display the browser component, cannot do that. To fix that, they would have to build GPS reception into the app and forward this info to the browser component.

The easiest way is to use Google's tool, because it converts your existing site automatically. I've tried it on your site and it looks nice.
If you want to tailor the site yourself, you have two options: Building an app or rewriting HTML. A site app makes your site highly customizable and professionally-looking, but it requires a lot of effort and separate development for each platform (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Symbian, ...), and. it requires your users to specifically download your app.
If you choose to convert the existing HTML to a mobile-friendly site, it will be (mostly) cross-platform, and you can follow the guidelines here.
This is very interesting question especially these days when mobile visibility has never been more important.
For more complex website I would use some online mobile site converter service, such as duda mobile or bmobilized.
These services will give you just mobile - 'm' version of a website, but with long bad urls, and unless you pay for responsive package, the site won't work on tablets.
Maybe the best solution is to use joomla or word press and pick some responsive template and build the website from scratch. Building one responsive site is better solution than having multiple instances for each device...

There's a google tool that you can use in the end to verify how your site works on android

also make sure that your robots.txt is setup well, in order to allow google bot do its scan properly throughout necessary directory structure in order to access all resources.

Is it possible to make my own website as iPhone friendly format when user launches my website in an iPhone browser?
Currently if i launch my website in iPhone, it doesn't look more readable and i need to zoom it to see clearly. If i want to provide my website link will be more clear and readable with bold fonts and buttons ( moreover it is like iPhone friendly format) in the first launch itself in iPhone browser, how to make it success? I could able to see some third party websites like http://tringapps.com and all provide the same logic. How to achieve this and what should i do for that? Where to code?

You'll need to make a separate version, or at the very least an extreme re-CSSing of your existing site.
