I'm developing an iPhone app with Appcelerator Titanium SDK 1.6.2
I am upload an photo to a users facebook album with the Titanium Facebook module, graph api.
The upload goes just fine and returns the items unique ID.
When I try to parse the JSON from the unique id I'm told i need to pass an access token, which makes sense.
How do I get the access token to be passed to the graph request url?
When I do a XHR GET request while passing Ti.Facebook.accessToken I get the following error
URL: https://graph.facebook.com/10150527948301195?access_token=t4CqzHallahfy4d7RnERrJb4ffOkQfJvrYrGEBoZ4so.epdiI6IjJGR2ZFY1ZTMHh6RlR6ZmNIcVctMHcifQ.NBRMth0vb7pXKcd8lHNz9aremoyNpvrbhz2P3zkgWJU4eHdfewOp1WruBNZS_lSDy0XM0Xu0ACry8aEmSckGJVQJxEioykrNZhT7S9mJG2OKWqMdk6ucg5IMhXMfndF9sdKwWrWb7uPKI57LzIOf5lvA
{
error = {
message = "Unsupported post request.";
type = GraphMethodException;
};
}
And if I don't pass Ti.Facebook.accessToken I'm asked for it.
I'm bound to be missing something, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should be using Titanium.Facebook.requestWithGraphPath(...)

I have a Page Tab facebook app. I want to post to users timeline from it.
After login on client side with javascript sdk (I use angularjs module for that Ciul/angular-facebook (sorry, cannot post github link here)):
https://gist.github.com/Sevavietl/7e363fdfd0e714a12a43
I retrieve access_token on server side and trying to post a carousel to the users feed:
https://gist.github.com/Sevavietl/cec5fa434837312adfd3
I have two problems:
While first call I get
Graph returned an error: (#210) Param id must be a page.
After browsing, I found that this can be caused by wrong token usage. Not user_access_token. But I login the user on the client side.
And for next calls I get
Graph returned an error: This authorization code has been used.
Again, after browsing, I found that token can be used only once in order to be OAuth compliant.
Please, advise me how to do this right?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Vsevolod
After spending some time on this, I am writing my solution, as it was not really obvious, at least for me. But, actually, all info is present in the documentation.
Starting with problem number 2: And for next calls I get Graph returned an error: This authorization code has been used.
As it was mentioned in the comments, I indeed was confusing access_token with authorization code. As I understand in really simplified form, the mechanism is:
When you login with facebook-javascript-sdk it writes authorization code to cookies.
Then on the server side you can retrieve access_token from javaScriptHelper available in facebook-php-sdk. This helper has getAccessToken() method, which retrieves access_token using authorization code from cookies. This is the place where I was confused. I was trying to use getAccessToken() on every request. As requests were made with AJAX the authorization code was not changed, and as you can use it only once I was getting an error. The solution to this was pointed in many places on the Internet, but somehow I was able to misunderstand this.
Here is the code excerpt that uses sessions to store access_token, and uses getAccessToken() method only if access_token is not set in the session.
$fb = new Facebook([
'app_id' => $widget->app_id,
'app_secret' => $widget->app_secret,
'default_graph_version' => 'v2.5',
]);
$helper = $fb->getJavaScriptHelper();
if ($request->session()->has('facebook_access_token')) {
$accessToken = $request->session()->get('facebook_access_token');
} else {
$accessToken = $helper->getAccessToken();
// OAuth 2.0 client handler
$oAuth2Client = $fb->getOAuth2Client();
// Exchanges a short-lived access token for a long-lived one
$longLivedAccessToken = $oAuth2Client->getLongLivedAccessToken($accessToken);
$request->session()->put('facebook_access_token', (string) $longLivedAccessToken);
$request->session()->save();
}
if ($accessToken) {
$fb->setDefaultAccessToken($accessToken);
} else {
die('No Access Token');
}
I use Laravel, so the session handling is not framework agnostic. This code is only for example, it is better to create service and move logic there.
Now. About the first problem: While first call I get Graph returned an error: (#210) Param id must be a page.
Again I was confusing two things '{user-id}/feed' and '{page-id}/feed'. My aim was to post a carousel with images and links. To create a carousel you have to provide child_attachments in the fields array. While you can send a Post like this to '{page-id}/feed', you cannot do so for '{user-id}/feed'. So at the moment you cannot post a carousel to users feed.
So when Graph Api was getting a Post data applicable for '{page-id}/feed', it was assuming that I have passed the {page-id}. And when getting the {user-id} instead, the Graph Api yelled back "(#210) Param id must be a page.".
I am currently developing an app with which visitors of an event can take pictures using a webcam and upload them to Facebook using an AS3-application. I know I can connect to Facebook, because I can log the user out using the API and I can get all the information. The problem is that I can't post to their wall for some reason. I keep getting the following error:
error #2032: stream error. url: https://graph.facebook.com/********/feed
I use the following code to post to Facebook:
private function postFB(e:Event=null):void {
var _params:Object = new Object();
_params.uid = Facebook.getAuthResponse().uid;
_params.access_token = Facebook.getAuthResponse().accessToken;
_params.message = "I was at the Thanksgiving Day Event.";
//_params.picture = _bitmap;
Facebook.api("/me/feed", postComplete, _params, "POST");
}
As I've said before, I know I am connected to facebook because if I change "POST" to "GET" in my api-call, I get all the information of my account. I have the correct permissions as far as I know (read_stream, publish_stream, user_photos). I use GraphAPI_Web_1_8_1.swc as an api.
The documentation on the entire api is very poor, so I am trying to figure out the problem. It's been a few years since I've tried any of this, so my code has probably aged too far by now. So, any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
publish_stream is deprecated (since years?), you need to use publish_actions.
If that does not work, make sure the Access Token includes all the permissions, you can test this in the Debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Side note: AS3 is not getting used very often anymore, the last version of the the AS3 SDK is from 2011. It may be a good idea to switch to the JavaScript SDK.
I created and APP on the Facebook.
Now I am trying to post a comment on the user's timeline using the Graph API but I cannot undestand what I need to do.
I already authorized the Application (I authorized this permissions: 'user_status,publish_stream,user_photos,email').
If I look on my profile -> privacy I can see that the APP can:
This app can: Post on your behalf
This app may post on your behalf, including status updates, photos and more.
Last data access:
Basic InformationToday
See details · Learn more
Posts on your behalf:
Who can see posts this app makes for you on your Facebook timeline?
Public
Notifications:
When to notify you?
The app sends you a notification
So this part seems OK.
On my application I do the following to try to post somenthing on my timeline (I need to post it when I am off line).
1) GET : https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id=APPID&client_secret=*APP_SECRET*&grant_type=client_credentials
RESPONSE:
access_token = 422828347771671|UdQELQIf0N7krF4JUo7VwtPLTkk
2) GET: https://graph.facebook.com/search?q=myemail&type=user
RESPONSE:
_"error":_{
______"message":_"A_user_access_token_is_required_to_request_this_resource_",
______"type":_"OAuthException",
______"code":_102
___}
But reading the documentation (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/#searching) it seems that this request does not need any kind of access token.
I also tried to add the access token, but the result is still the same.
3) I know my facebookid so I tried to use it directly:
POST: https://graph.facebook.com/100001139132403/feed
ARGUMENT:
access_token=422828347771671|UdQELQIf0N7krF4JUo7VwtPLTkk,
message=Hello
RESPONSE:
"error": {
"message": "(#200) This API call requires a valid app_id.",
"type": "OAuthException",
"code": 200
}
}
So I tried to add client_id=APPID and app_id=APPID, I tried to put one, the other and also both arguments as GET or POST but nothing changed.
I checked the APPId ad it is correct.
Do someone have any idea?
Thank you!
You cant simply generate a user access_token by querying to a URL. What you did gives the App access token and as the error say, you are trying to do something, that needs user access_token.
Refer and implement this : https://developers.facebook.com/docs/howtos/login/server-side-login/
And use that access_token for the rest of the processes.
I have setup the facebook javascript sdk to initialize a friend invite dialog to send requests to friends. Clicking on the invite in Facebook, brings the user back to the site.
The query string has any and all request_ids that have not been handled (deleted).
I am following the documenation listed at the FB developers site here which states:
JavaScript SDK:
FB.api(requestId, 'delete', function(response) {
When they are returned to my site, the querystring has a request_ids parameter:
example: www.mysite.com/somepage?request_ids=0493834050
my Javascript code looks like this:
FB.api(requestIds[i], 'delete', function (response) {
console.log(response);
});
But the error I get is:
ERROR
code: 104
message: "An access token is required to request this resource."
type: "OAuthException"
All I want to do is delete the request ID. before I was even running the above code, the querystring was building up with every submitted request. It does appear they have been removed, because the querystring is reduced down to a single request id. But I am still uncertain it has been handled properly.
NOTE I am not using the Graph version - as I have not setup Graph on the app settings in Facebook.
I have the Facebook C# sdk - if someone has an easy way to do this here. I have tried the following with the same results.
var fbClient = new FacebookClient(accessToken)
fbClient.Delete(requestId);
I don’t see what’s possibly unclear about the error message – you need a valid access token to be able to delete requests, but by the looks of it you don’t have one.
So you’ll either have to have the user connect to your app in order to get an active access token for him; or you have to do it using your own app access token (but that’d have to be done server-side then, because you don’t want to transfer your app access token to the client side).
i try to register an achievement for my game app thorough Graph API Explorer using a POST to https://graph.facebook.com/APP_ID/achievements with access_token =xxxxxx ,achievement = right url and display_order =1 but it throws the following error
{
"error": {
"message": "(#15) This method must be called with an app access_token.",
"type": "OAuthException",
"code": 15
}
}
. i have checked the achievment url and my app access token in the object debugger and it gives right result. But still im getting the above when try to register my achievement. i have checked evrywhere i could to find a solution but didnt get any (although there where similar post which didnt a give solution). Any help will be much much appreciated as it really takes my lot of time figuring out a solution
Are you sure it's the app access token retrieved from the instructions at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/applications/ and not the user's access token?
If you're doing this with the Graph API Explorer instead of in code or manually, you need to replace the access token the Graph API explorer is using with the one you retrieved via those instructions
