OpenFlow with XML Object - iphone

Trying to use OpenFlow API for iPhone SDK.
I need the openflow to load pictures from a (image) link.
This is how it always works with local images:
loadImagesOperationQueue = [[NSOperationQueue alloc] init];
NSString *imageName;
for (int i=0; i < 10; i++) {
imageName = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:#"cover_%d.jpg", i];
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:imageName] forIndex:i];
[imageName release];
NSLog(#"%d is the index",i);
}
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setNumberOfImages:10];
And I tried this:
- (void)openFlowView:(AFOpenFlowView *)openFlowView requestImageForIndex:(int)index {
NSString *photoUrl = [[oldEntries objectAtIndex: 0] objectForKey: #"still"];
NSURL *photomake = [NSURL URLWithString:photoUrl];
NSLog(#"theConnection: %#",photoUrl);
NSLog(#"theConnection: %#",photomake);
AFGetImageOperation *getImageOperation = [AFGetImageOperation alloc];
// We're getting our images from the Flickr API.
getImageOperation.imageURL = photomake;
[loadImagesOperationQueue addOperation:getImageOperation];
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setNumberOfImages:1];
[getImageOperation release];
}
But it just won't work. Can anyone help me?

Without knowing what 'won't work' it's hard to say, please clarify and supply the actual URL you are creating.
The only line that looks suspect is this one:
AFGetImageOperation *getImageOperation = [AFGetImageOperation alloc];
Should be:
AFGetImageOperation *getImageOperation = [[AFGetImageOperation alloc] init];

It's much easier to use:
NSURL *imageUrl = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:[#"path/to/the/file.jpg"];
NSData *imageData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:imageUrl];
UIImage *image = [UIImage imageWithData:imageData];
put all the images in an Array
and then you call you first function
for (int i=0; i < 10; i++) {
imageName = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:#"cover_%d.jpg", i];
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setImage:**image** forIndex:i];
[imageName release];
NSLog(#"%d is the index",i);
}
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setNumberOfImages:10];

Can't tweet an image

- (void)actionSheet:(UIActionSheet *)actionSheet didDismissWithButtonIndex:(NSInteger)buttonIndex
{
forTweet = TRUE;
switch(buttonIndex)
{
case 0:
{
TWTweetComposeViewController *tweetViewController = [[TWTweetComposeViewController alloc] init];
// Set the initial tweet text. See the framework for additional properties that can be set.
NSMutableString * twitterString = [displayString mutableCopy];
[twitterString appendString: #" #LoviOtvet"];
[tweetViewController setInitialText: twitterString];
UIImage * imageAnswer = [self getImageFromURL: [self strToUrlConverter]];
UIImage * imageLogo = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile: #"image.png"];
[tweetViewController addImage: [self mergeImage:imageAnswer withImage:imageLogo strength:1]];
break;
}
I added . No errors, but not working.
Facebook and saving to device working. Tweeting not. Why not?
Your problem is this line:
UIImage * imageLogo = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile: #"image.png"];
For this method, you would need to need to provide a file path, not a name. You have two choices:
UIImage * imageLogo = [UIImage imageNamed:]
or (for a file in the bundle):
NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:#"image" ofType:#"png"];
UIImage * imageLogo = [[UIImage alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:path];

Parsing coverFlow images through web service

I have implemented coverFlow usinng http://chaosinmotion.com/flowcover.m this link. Its working fine. I want to get coverFlow images through web service. Its working fine for single image. Anyone send me code for getting multiple coverFlow images in a single url having multiple image attributes.Any changes in backend should reflect in code means if no of images are increased then in coverflow also show the same no. of images.
In CoverFlowViewController.h file
NSMutableArray *profilephotos; // declare NSMutableArray
In CoverFlowViewController.m file
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
profilephotos = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithObjects:#"www.xxxx.com/ima.jpeg",#"www.xxxx.com/ima1.jpeg",#"www.xxxx.com/ima2.jpeg",#"www.xxxx.com/ima3.jpeg",#"www.xxxx.com/ima4.jpeg",#"www.yyy.com/ima5.jpeg",nil];
NSLog(#"profilephotos = %#",profilephotos); // Your array of Images url
loadImagesOperationQueue = [[NSOperationQueue alloc] init];
for (int i=0; i < [profilephotos count]; i++)
{
NSString *pho = [profilephotos objectAtIndex:i];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:pho];
NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL: url];
UIImage *img=[UIImage imageWithData:data];
CGSize newSize = CGSizeMake(300.0f, 300.0f);
UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(newSize);
[img drawInRect:CGRectMake(0,0,newSize.width,newSize.height)];
UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext();
UIGraphicsEndImageContext();
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setImage:newImage forIndex:i];
}
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setNumberOfImages:[profilephotos count]];
}

AutoResizing Image no imageView

i am using AFOpenFlow in my app, but now the Problem is,
the pictures I use are not the same size because they are from the web!
And how can i autoResizing the image at the view of the iPhone???
Here is my code from this method:
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
// loading images into the queue
loadImagesOperationQueue = [[NSOperationQueue alloc] init];
NSString *imageName;
for (int i=0; i < 10; i++) {
imageName = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:#"cover_%d.jpg", i];
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:imageName] forIndex:i];
[imageName release];
NSLog(#"%d is the index",i);
}
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setNumberOfImages:10];
}
Thank you beforehand
Marco
scale your image before set to open flow
change your code in the loop as below:
imageName = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:#"cover_%d.jpg", i];
UIImage *oriImage = [UIImage imageNamed:imageName];
[imageName release];
UIImage *requiredImage = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:[oriImage CGImage] scale:768/520.0 orientation:UIImageOrientationUp];
[(AFOpenFlowView *)self.view setImage:requiredImage forIndex:i];
NSLog(#"%d is the index",i);

how to load image in background in UITableCell in iphone application

I have develop an RSS application. in My table cell I am displaying images which i retrive from imge link in RSS feed and Title.
Images are loaded successfully but the problem is that it hang my application.
as there any way to load image in background.
my current code is.
int blogEntryIndex1 = [indexPath indexAtPosition: [indexPath length] -1];
imgstring=[[blogEntries objectAtIndex: blogEntryIndex1] objectForKey: #"image"];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:imgstring];
NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url];
UIImage *img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:data];
cell.imageView.image=[img autorelease];
any idea please, Thanks in advance...
Repost... You should also look at lazy table loading via Apple's sample code http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/samplecode/LazyTableImages/Introduction/Intro.html
Update another example here: http://www.markj.net/iphone-asynchronous-table-image/
Well guys i have done it the code is...
- (void) loadImage:(id)object {
NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
// Get the data to pass in
NSDictionary *dict = (NSDictionary *)object;
// Get the cell and the image string
NSString *imgstring = [dict objectForKey:#"imgstring"];
MyfirstCell *cell = [dict objectForKey:#"cell"];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:imgstring];
NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url];
UIImage *img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:data];
cell.myimnage.image = img;
[pool release];
}
I will call the above method in my code...
if(searching) {
//cell.textLabel.text = [copyListOfItems objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
int blogEntryIndex = [indexPath indexAtPosition: [indexPath length] -1];
// Tell your code to load the image for a cell in the background
NSString *imgstring =[[blogEntries objectAtIndex: blogEntryIndex] objectForKey: #"image"];
NSDictionary *dict = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:cell, #"cell", imgstring, #"imgstring", nil];
[self performSelectorInBackground:#selector(loadImage:) withObject:dict];
//background code end here..
Thanks to deanWombourne who has given me this code....
And take a look to this document also from Apple.
http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/cocoa/Conceptual/URLLoadingSystem/URLLoadingSystem.html
Most the time I use NSURLConnection to download things.
You can use this way:
((UIImageView *)cell.backgroundView).image = bgImage;
((UIImageView *)cell.selectedBackgroundView).image = bgImage;

setting the images in a tableview which i am getting from the server?

I am using the code below to set images in a table which are loaded from the server, but I have an exception thrown (not every time) which is related to a drawing error
- (void) getTheThumnbails:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{
NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
GDataEntryYouTubeVideo *entry = [feedArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
NSURL *url = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:[[[[entry mediaGroup] mediaThumbnails] objectAtIndex:0] URLString]];
NSData *imgData = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url];
UIImage *img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:imgData];
CGRect newFrame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 62.0, 62.0);
UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(newFrame.size);
[img drawInRect:newFrame];
UIImage *resizedImg = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext();
UIGraphicsEndImageContext();
[imgDict setObject:resizedImg forKey:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%i",indexPath.row]];
[[[myTableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath] imageView] setImage:resizedImg];
[pool release];
}
Please help me folks, sorting out the mistake i am doing.
Trying to draw a image in a thread is not a good practice, please do not perform any UI operations in thread, they need to be done in the main thread.
well I did the above like
- (void) getTheThumnbails:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{
NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
GDataEntryYouTubeVideo *entry = [feedArray objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
NSURL *url = [[NSURL alloc] initWithString:[[[[entry mediaGroup] mediaThumbnails] objectAtIndex:0] URLString]];
NSData *imgData = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url];
UIImage *img = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:imgData];
[imgDict setObject:img forKey:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%i",indexPath.row]];
[img release];
[self performSelectorOnMainThread:#selector(setImageInTable:) withObject:indexPath waitUntilDone:NO];
[pool release];
}
- (void)setImageInTable:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath{
UIImage *img = (UIImage *)[imgDict valueForKey:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%i",indexPath.row]];
CGRect newFrame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 62.0, 62.0);
UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(newFrame.size);
[img drawInRect:newFrame];
UIImage *resizedImg = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext();
UIGraphicsEndImageContext();
[imgDict removeObjectForKey:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%i",indexPath.row]];
[imgDict setObject:resizedImg forKey:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%i",indexPath.row]];
[[[myTableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath] imageView] setImage:resizedImg];
}
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Madhup
