Has any one attempted this before? I would like to know how to upgrade from 4.2 to 4.4 bearing in mind that there are exisiting services on the latter, which I hope will still work on the newly upgraded 4.4.
FuseSource offers migration guides. If you are a FuseSource subscriber then I suggest to use that channel to help with the upgrade.

I need to update an old forum made in phpBB from version 3.0.11 to the new / stable version 3.2.2.
It is the first time that I put my hand at phpBB.
Making an update step by step is complicated: move from 3.0.11 to 3.0.14 ... from 3.0.14 to 3.1.x ... and from 3.1.x to 3.2.2.
So I thought: can I make a clean install of 3.2.2 and import everything I need (posts / forum / users / ALLINEED)?
Do you know any plugins that do this? maybe phpBB itself does it? Or maybe I just need to export the tables from mysql?
can you advise me something?
thank you
There is no plugin to do it, but there is a process to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.2. Your forum will be as clean as a fresh install.
The more secured solution is to begin by upgrading from 3.0.11 to 3.0.14 for security reasons.
When you can stop your forum during one or two hours, stop it and upgrade directly from 3.0 to 3.2. You don’t need to upgrade to 3.1 then to 3.2.
All explanations are provided in upgrade documentation from 3.0 to 3.2
Do not forget any step! After step3, I advise you to restore the 3.0.11 forum on a local machine or another server to be sure that your backup files are not corrupted. (Yes, it could happen during a download.)
I did it a lot of time. It works fine. One hour to do it cautiously and slowly (+ download and upload time).
I would like to know whether it is possible to upload MongoDB from 2.2 to 3.2 without any intermediary upgrades. If it is possible please share a resource that can follow. I would like to know what things to looks out for when up grading
No you can't.
From the documentation,
Upgrade Requirements
To upgrade an existing MongoDB deployment to 3.2, you must be running a 3.0-series release.
To upgrade from a 2.6-series release, you must upgrade to the latest 3.0-series release before upgrading to 3.2. For the procedure to upgrade from the 2.6-series to a 3.0-series release, see Upgrade MongoDB to 3.0.
I use grafana 2.1 and created multiple dashboards, templates etc.
I would like to upgrade to grafana 2.6. Is there any way to upgrade to 2.6 without affecting the existing dashboards?
There are no breaking changes between 2.1 and 2.6. In theory upgrading should be a simple matter of installing the new packages. I personally have upgraded from 2.1.3 to 2.5 to 2.6 with no issues.
For windows version, I just had to copy the data/grafana.db and the data/plugins directory from the old installation to the new installation directory. Just make sure the newer version does not have any breaking changes.
You can upgrade Grafana to higher versions for better features and also import your previous dashboard to the new version without any problem by using Import/Export feature.
I am working on data stage application usinf InfoSphere 8.7 FixPack tool. Now I am planning to migrate to InfoSphere 11.3 version.
Could you please suggest me the pros and cons which I need to know before migration?
Thanks,
Venkat
I am new on this, and I am migrating from 8.5 To 11.3. Something I learned is not to bother migrating your .ds files, because they won't work with the newer version. Also be sure to install a g++ compiler in your new server.
Vignette upgrades are usually not straightforward. You basically have to do a new installation and migrate over all of your customizations etc. Does anyone know if the upcoming V8 version is easier to upgrade or if its easier to upgrade from a certain previous version compared to earlier version. So I can upgrade to an earlier version (say 7.6) and then hopefully its easier?
Vignette v8 is officially not out yet, its only been soft released to some selected clients. My guess is that the upgrade will not be very straightforward but I've no concrete information on that.
During the wait you might also be interested in an open source alternative of Vignette v8 freely available: Sense/Net 6.0 http://blog.sensenet.hu/post/2009/08/05/An-Open-Source-Alternative-for-Vignette-v8.aspx
I have finally found the answer. You do need to upgrade to 7.6 before upgrading to 8.0 from an earlier version.
