I need a FTP Upload plugin for Eclipse. I don't wanna use Aptana since it doesn't work on PHP Development version of Eclipse and the perspective didn't work well so I am looking for such a plugin or something works like DispatchAsp for Visual Studio. Like syncing, remote view, etc.
Thanks.
If you don't want to/can't use Aptana you could take a look at RSE

After editing a jaspersoft template in Studio version 6.0.3 is it possible to export or upload the jrxml file to my server via sftp directly from JasperSoft Studio?
Currently after edits are made and saved I have to go to the ftp client to upload files.
you could try to use Eclipse RSE installing the dedicated feature. It's possible from Jaspersoft Studio. You simply need to add the update site for it.
I would suggest you use Indigo one, because the Juno (dedicated to 4.2.x) may screw up UI and other JSS capabilities.
Even if the Eclipse 3.8.2 version, the platform used by JSS product, is referred as Juno, it can be more like a bug-fix version of Indigo 3.7.x.
So you could add the Indigo update site: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo/
Later you can select the feature "Remote System Explorer End-User Runtime", install it and you are free to try if it suits your needs.
See screenshot below:
Personally I simply installed, but I didn't play with it.
Anyhow I suggest you to also give a look to the following blog post: http://rays-blog.de/2012/05/05/94/use-winscp-to-upload-files-using-eclipses-autobuild-feature/
Maybe it's better to set-up a custom script, like this user did because not completely satisfied of the Eclipse-like solutions.
It's worth mentioning also this one: http://www.jcraft.com/eclipse-sftp/
In my case it didn't work even if installation appeared to have completed successfully. Maybe it's too old for the latest Eclipse versions.

Massimo.
For some time now I am looking for a good FTP plugin for NetBeans. I know it has some basic support but you can only use it with one project and involves downloading everything before you can freely edit/upload stuff..
I was wondering if there was like an FTP browser plugin for NetBeans like in Eclipse or Aptana. You just have the entire FTP server there and can select files when needed.
You could look at the FtpSiteDeployer plugin. This may meet your needs.
I'm currently trying out Aptana Studio 3 for PHP development (I'm pretty new to all these), and I've stumbled upon a problem. I've noticed Eclipse has a Marketplace that hosts a wide variety of plugins, and I'd like to install one that helps me for version control.
However, I can't find the Eclipse Marketplace dialog under Aptana. Is there anybody out there who's done this before (installing Eclipse Marketplace stuff in Aptana)?
Also, this is a little out-of-topic but I'd like to use Java.net as the place where I'll be storing my repository. To my knowledge, NetBeans has a built-in support for Java.net; is there anything similar for Eclipse/Aptana Studio?
EDIT: If it helps, I installed Aptana Studio as a standalone version, and not as a plugin on Eclipse.
Try Help / Install New Software, and click on the Available Software Sites link. You'll probably have the eclipse Helios release directory in the list, just check it to activate it. A lot of third-party packages have their own release sites, you can add them in the same dialog.
in Netbeans, you can select a file on the project explorer and upload it directly to the ftp and it finds where to upload properly (amongst the folders and sub-folders,since the remote project is the copy of local project with the same folder, sub-folders and etc.) which provides quick solution when working on both local and remote.
I am wondering whether the same functionality is also available on Eclipse? I don't need anything complicated. This feature is what I only need. So if you know such plugin and how to use it, please enlighten me.
I am using Eclipse for PHP, my version of Eclipse is PDT
Aptana Studio 3 (standalone or plugin) has FTP download/upload functionality. And much more.
Eclipse has a Build in FTP. Go Windows->Open Perspective ->Other->Remote System Explorer.Create New Connection . Right Click on Explorer->New Connection ->FTP.
Note:(For Eclipse Helios and above)
I use Aptana for 2 or 3 months now and i'm very happy with it.
But since i need to work with Joomla! and to write some modules, compenents, etc...
I'd have like to know if there is a joomla plugin for Aptana ?
I would just like to have autocompletion, autosuggest, links to methods and class of the Joomla API
Any ideas ?
Thanks
The solution to enable Joomla code assist in Aptana Studio is in this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HCqomfey34. This is for Aptana Studio 3.
After creating your project, go to Project > Properties > PHP Buildpath > External Directories > Add... and choose the Joomla framework folder (your_joomla_folder/libraries/joomla).
As far as i am aware, there isn't any.
But I think for what your looking for this will depend on actually how you set up your development environment. To start, you could use the aptana PHP plugin, then create a new 'Joomla' Project, pointing to your entire Joomla folder.
I use aptana but solely for javaScript. none-the-less if autocompletion and autosuggestion are what you are looking for with php, u will love phpEdit or phpDesigner, once you create a new project, and point to the source folder, you are ready to start working. Unlike aptana and eclipse, (though you could) you won't need to add specific code libraries to the project!!
Codelobster PHP Edition is FREE but the Joomla plug-in is NOT you can download the IDE with a 30day trial of the plug-in...
