Javax mail with Lift framework - lift

I'm having a strange issue.
I deploy my webapp to the server (jetty 7.4.3.v20110701), and everything (including mailer) seem to be working fine. Debugging info (got with -Djavax.activation.debug=true) for sending an email looks like this:
MailcapCommandMap: createDataContentHandler for text/html
search DB #0
got content-handler
class com.sun.mail.handlers.text_html
INFO [qtp1699297250-32] net.liftweb.util.TimeHelpers.info[195] - Service request (GET) /reservation/276 returned 200, took 264 Milliseconds
INFO [qtp1699297250-34] net.liftweb.util.TimeHelpers.info[195] - Service request (GET) /ajax_request/liftAjax.js returned 200, took 9 Milliseconds
MailcapCommandMap: createDataContentHandler for multipart/alternative
search DB #0
got content-handler
class com.sun.mail.handlers.multipart_mixed
But then suddenly, out of nowhere the code just stops working:
Can't load DCH com.sun.mail.handlers.multipart_mixed; Exception:

After some time it can start working again.
I've tried solutions, recommended here and here. I've also tried excluding javax.activation, using both javax.mail 1.4.1 and 1.4.4. Neither solution worked. What could be the cause? Any help appreciated.

I was able to fix it by making mail.jar and activation.jar provided in my pom.xml.
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.mail</groupId>
<artifactId>mail</artifactId>
<version>1.4.1</version>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
The reason, I suppose, was that container already had mail.jar, and jdk 1.6 includes activation.jar.

jBPM Login Failed: Not Authorized: All of the pre-defined users dont work

I am trying to use the Business-Central/Workbench module. Followed the instructions as provided in the [Getting Started][1] of jBPM. I tried with all the pre-defined logins. Nothing works.
It throws
I also tried to look into the application-roles.properties and application-users.properties files. Both seems to be empty (only comments).
The error is something like:
ERROR [io.undertow.request] (default task-5) UT005023: Exception handling request to /business-central/rest/controller/server/sample-server: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/security/acl/Group

Finally figured out the issue. It is:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/security/acl/Group
This pointed to an incompatible JDK. I downgraded from JDK14 to JDK11.

This happens because of the WSS4J library. I am wondering if i need to take any action. If i understand it correctly 2 providers have been added but adding the bouncycastle fails. I know that i could add the bc libs to jboss or jre but is this really necessary? The fact that it is "only" a debug statement makes me also wonder if it is necessary. Maybe somebody knows what this actually means and can help me.
WSS4J attempts to install the BouncyCastle provider if it is available, and logs that DEBUG level error if it is not (this behaviour will change in the next major release). There is nothing to worry about if you don't require BouncyCastle to be installed.

I would suggest that you should try to:
- clear the work folder on JBoss application server (in this folder could be stored the compiled version of the page that caused this stack trace)
For JBoss 6.0 deployment, it might be in
jboss-eap-6.0\standalone\tmp\work\jboss.web\default-host\jasperserver-pro
For JBoss 7.1 deployment, it might be in
jboss-7.1\standalone\tmp\work\jboss.web\default-host\jasperserver-pro.
Please clarify the actual location of this folder in your system and delete the data .

The 'Transaction not successfully started' error indicates an issue with the database connection. Try logging into MySQL with the command-line client to verify that MySQL is running and the credentials are correct. After logging in, check that the database exists.

Upgrade xwiki (2.5 to 4.4)

Im using XWIKI ENTERPRISE 2.5 and want to upgrade it to 4.4 or 4.3 (stable)
I found this upgrade documentation for XWiki. Following the guide, I backed up the important files in WEB-INF.
After that, I copied all the files from the new .war to my wiki directory (/var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/xwiki). Then, I moved back the important files and overwrote the new files.
I get this error message, when I visit my wiki page:

When you say that
I copied all the files from the new .war to my wiki directory
Did you copy the new files over the existing directory? You're supposed to delete everything from the old version and use only the files from the new version, and only copy from the backup the essential configuration files. Also, note that you're not supposed to just copy the old configuration, but merge your custom settings into the default new configuration.
The root error in the stack trace:
Caused by: org.infinispan.jmx.JmxDomainConflictException: Domain already registered org.xwiki.infinispan
suggest a duplicate jar. The other case when this could occur is when you have more than one instance of XWiki in the same container, in which case you should edit WEB-INF/cache/infinispan/config.xml, and replace the line jmxDomain="org.xwiki.infinispan" with a unique value, like jmxDomain="org.xwiki.infinispan.wiki1" and jmxDomain="org.xwiki.infinispan.wiki2" for the two instances.
I've been having the same problem when upgrading from 4.0-rc-1 to 4.4 or 4.5. I have no duplicate jars nor am I running several instances of XWiki. It may be there is an issue either in infinispan or in XWiki's cache implementation.
A temporary workaround is to allow duplicate domains explicitly in config.xml :
<globalJmxStatistics
[...]
allowDuplicateDomains="true" />
