iPhone App Missing Graphics - iphone

I'm just encountering a new problem with my first iPhone App.
On my local device with Xcode everything runs well.
But now I uploaded my App to iTunes Connect and now it's live and one can download it.
But when I use a promotional Code and download my own app, some graphics are missing and there's just a white graphic with no image...
But I think if apple had seen this they wouldn't allow the app to be downloaded?!
What can I do?

Make sure your graphics files were actually copied into your project, and not just referenced, since then they would only exist in their original place on your computer.

Are you testing both the App Store version and the development built version on the same device? Completely delete the app and redownload it from the App Store. It acts funky when you try to replace the development version with the App Store version.

Maybe when you add the graphics to your app,you forgot to mark the add the files to main folder!I had the same problem!

Can't test iPhone app update as an update

I have been working on an iOS app update and am ready to submit it, however I am having a small issue I am concerned about. I create an ad-Hoc version for testing and when I try to synch the update over to my phone via iTunes it won't give me the 'update' option next to the app. The buttons in iTunes says 'remove'. iTunes actually forces me to first remove the old version of the app and only after it is removed, iTunes gives me the option to install the new version and then the app works fine. The only problem is that this is not really testing the update process and I am concerned that once I release the app to the app store my users will have the same issue where they will not be able to just update the app, they will have to remove the old app first and then install the new version. Any idea what might be going wrong here?
iOS takes care of updating Apps, as far as bundle identifier in your info-plist is the same, any newer version will show as an update in iOS. But in iTunes things work differently. You don't have to worry about these things.
If you want to test effects of updating an App, Install the old version from AppStore. Connect your device and Run the project from Xcode. Now this will work the same way as updating your app.
There is no problem from your part. Maybe this time iTunes is not smart enough to know that your ad-hoc version is an update one or maybe the version of the app on iTunes and on your phone is the same. I've made a lot of update to my apps, when you submit a new one to AppStore your user won't face this problem. They will find an update button for your app :).

How do I remove data that was installed as part of an iPhone App I'm devleoping?

I'm developing an iPhone application that's particularly large, and contains loads of videos. (Not my fault, it's on behalf of a client).
I tried to run it on my iPhone, via XCode, not remembering I didn't have enough space on there to copy all the vids over, it errored halfway through.
However, it seems that the couple of videos it did manage to copy are still on the phone, and I now have 0 space on my phone, according to settings.
So I guess my question is where on the phones filesystem will these be stored, so that I can delete them?
EDIT: As the App didn't sucessfully install, theres no icon on the home screen for it.

You can use iPhoneExplorer to explore/remove the files on your iPhone.
Have you tried the iPhone Configuration Utility? http://support.apple.com/kb/dl926
If the app has somehow been half-installed so it has no icon, then it might still appear in this tool where you can remove it.
If you can see the app on the organizer, try this:
1.- In the devices organizer, select Applications in the device.
2.- Select an application from the list of installed applications.
3.- Click Delete, and confirm that you want to remove the application.

Figured it out, eventually found it in a folder called:
/private/var/mobile/Media/PublicStaging

"This game is not recognized by game center." iPhone Development

There are already a couple of questions on this but I followed their steps to solve it and it doesn't seem to work for me. Here's what I have done:
1. I double checked to have the bundle identifier in the xcode project to be the exact same as the provisioning profile found on the provisioning portal (it also says Game Center is enabled). No wildcards.
2. I have logged in using a sandboxed account to gamecenter (made 2 accounts incase one wasn't sandbox). I did see the word "sandbox" with some numbers/letters on the top left while signing up for an account, so I'm 100% sure I have a sandboxed account. Tried 2 different sandbox accounts. Tried on 2 different devices (ipad/iphone). Also tried on the iPhone simulator.
3. I have deleted my app from my iPhone many times and tried it again.
I'm running 4.3/xcode 4 on iPhone + iPad.
I'm still receiving the message. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
From memory (I battled with this recently)…
In addition to what you've already done, you have to setup your app (even if it's using a fake bundle ID) in ITC (iTunes Connect). This means you need to put in a name, category, a screenshot and a bunch of other stuff (you can just put dummy data in there for testing purposes). Then you need to create a version of your app, then enable Game Center on that version.
There might have been a few other important steps that I've forgotten, but in between the voodoo dancing and making sacrifices to the gods of iOS etc., that's all I can recall.
Deleting the old app from your device can sometimes help too. Looks like it stores some data with an app and will try to login to actual Game Center instead of Sandbox Mode.
This solved my problem when trying to add Game Center in an update.
This is how I solved the problem. I opened the Settings App, then select Game Center. At the bottom under Developer, turn on "Sandbox".
I had a similar problem. Make sure you have the exact same app version in xcode and ITC. For example, if you have 1.0 in xcode and 1 in ITC it will not work. The version is a string not a float, so 1.0 != 1.
My situation is , It showed "this game is not recognized by game center",and my ipad is jail-broken. so I uninstall Appsync 5.0+ in Cydia--> logout game center---> reinstall app, it's ok now
In my case, almost everything people had suggested was in already correct for my app.
My bundle IDs were correct, my iTunes Connect record was set up, etc. However, the version number of the build that had been uploaded to iTunes Connect was not recent (and didn't match the version I was building onto the test device).
After uploading a newer build to iTunes Connect with a matching version number, it appeared to fix the problem.
I'm not guaranteeing it won't break in the future (because the authentication seems to be very flaky and has worked previously, even with the old version record), but for now it seems to have solved the problem for me.
I learned from somewhere that if your machine(iphone or ipad) is jail-broken, it will assume you use the real game center without the sandbox one.
So, if your devices are jail-broken, just restore it, and give it a try.

How can I convert a Universal iOS app to a stand-alone iPhone app?

I started building a Universal app and it turned out the design doesn't work well with the iPad, so I've decided to make it a stand-alone iPhone app instead. By that, I mean I'd like the app store to see my app as an iPhone app, not a Universal app. I was just about to create a new project and move my existing iPhone code over to it and it's a ton of work because I had existing Core Data stores and other files that require some labor.
Is that the route I should take or is it easy to convert my existing Universal app to a stand alone iPhone app? If it's easier to convert it, what do I need to do?
I was exploring the Build settings of my project (I don't know what most of them mean), but I see the "Targeted Device Family" setting. Am I fortunate enough that I could simply set this to "iPhone" and that's the end of it?

UPDATE: I found that all I needed to do was set the "Targeted Device Family" build setting to "iPhone". Seems to be working fine so far.
I believe that ends up setting the UIDeviceFamily key in Info.plist, which should be what the App Store looks at. You might still have a bunch of iPad resources floating around, but I wouldn't worry too much about that.

How can simulate the IPhone app upgrade process in the SDK simulator

I'm working on an iPhone app and about to release version 2. We'll be changing the core data model and I'd like to simulate the upgrade process in the simulator before releasing it to users and potentially causing data loss for them. There doesn't seem to be any real good doucumentation on how to do this in a sandbox before releasing it.
The process I've used in the past has been to wipe any working version from the Simulator, check out the previous version of my application from my repository, compile and install that, work with it for a bit, then compile and install the new version of the application. The installation of the new version should simulate the upgrade process, where you can test your data migration to your new model.
I also repeat this process on the device to make sure no problems are encountered there either.

You have to create IPA file and simulate update via iTunes.
I agree with Brad's overall approach. To save a little time, I would just save the sample set of data that you create with the older version of your app. This way you won't have to keep recreating the sample data set if things don't go right. You will just simply copy the sample data set back into your app's directory in the Simulator.
Your app's directory is located at ~/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User/Applications/A GUID for your App on your development machine.
