PLOT:
After implementing ACL on my website, if a user tries to access unauthorised page he will be denied and shown a page to login. After he loggs in, I wanted to redirect the user to the previous page to which he was denied to earlier.
To do this, I store the request parameters using $request -> getParams(), onto a session variable, which will be used to generate the url again. This is where the problem occurs, to generate the url back, I need the name of the route and that i dont know how to read.
I need to know the route name, so that I will be able to regenerate the url, from the array stored in session, or if there is a better way to solve this, please suggest.
Why not just store $request->getRequestUri()? This will give you the URL as it appears in the browser.
Dont try to think of complex solutions for simple problem.
You can do this, with just using $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], this gives the same result as #Phil's answer (Correct me, If i am missing something). and is more than enough to do what you want.

I'm using scribe to get user id, however I get this error:
OAuthConnectionException: There was a problem while creating a connection to the remote service.
I follow this example enhanced with javax filters (to get the parameter code correctly)
https://github.com/fernandezpablo85/scribe-java/blob/master/src/test/java/org/scribe/examples/FacebookExample.java
I also tried doing things manually and i got the access token which looks somehow like this ( i changed it a bit ) CAAHZCFE7YllgBAAZAenKbvZBrMZAZBkDGgydU2vAekwsM1V0StpZAgHXukEYWIDSpc5ZCXc4LB6suFeaPagcpj2ju6ayvAgrxYttvCQg9i7ZAdcF2ZCvhMNqTddsDUkNq1c1cX47U9KwutS5t6xpbV0cRabaVpgZCZAo4ZCTEtgckFmMajsb3zYWTH9LEfKj3CgcJ39lD2x1yRoXyAds0lKARmHZC
and while asking for user id like this:
https://graph.facebook.com/me?access_token=CAAHZCFE7YllgBAAZAenKbvZBrMZAZBkDGgydU2vAekwsM1V0StpZAgHXukEYWIDSpc5ZCXc4LB6suFeaPagcsj2ju6aYvYgrxYttvCQg9i7ZAdcF2ZCvhMNqTddsDUkNq1c1cX47U9KwutS5t6xpbV0cRabaVpgZCZAo4ZCTEtgckFmMajsb3zYWTH7LEfKj3CycJ39lD2x1yRoXyAds0lWLRmHZC%20,%20458856e03b909f426ec5d3791f0af466?fields=id,name
I get Malformed access token.
Do you have any suggestions regarding what I am doing wrong?
The URLs are the same, dunno what my mistake is :/
Lately I've been using cURL to post data back from a custom Magento controller to a custom page on the same website.
However, the way I do it somehow breaks Magento's log in data. So I've tried another way. Magento has cURL functionality built into it (Varien_Http_Adapter_Curl).
I've tried to Post through this, but so far it has been over my head and documentation on the web is fairly sparse. I need help with this. I've got a string with all the $_POST data ready to go. Please can someone tell me how to send it?
This:
$url="<URL>";
$curl = new Varien_Http_Adapter_Curl;
$curl->setConfig(array('timeout' => 15));
$curl->write(Zend_Http_Client::POST,$url, '1.1', array(), $poststring);
$result = $curl->read();
$curl->close();
...isn't sending data .
Edit:
I've tried the non-Magento cURL, but didn't know about session Data. I still have no Idea how to send session data, either.
Now, I've tried session variables, but the result is that I can set and extract data on one page, but when changing pages the data is lost. So, this can't be used currently between the controller and view.
better you can use the magento sessions
http://magento-rohan.blogspot.in/2012/03/magento-get-set-unset-session.html
here is this how to use it
You need to give us more information about what are you trying to achieve. Basically you need to tell us where are you sending POST request to? Perhaps another Magento instance or even same Magento website? Are you expecting user to have same session it is having now? Once you give us more info I will edit my answer. For now I will try to guess what is bothering you based on the input you gave.
When you are submitting POST request with curl from server side, that means that user is no longer interacting with the "page" you are trying to submit post request to.
If user is not interacting with it, that means it is not sending user session information.
Basically it looks like this:
Normally
Eric ->(Request with session info)-> Server (Oh it's you Eric, here is
the response just for you)
What are you trying to do
Eric ->(Request with session info)-> Server ->(Request without session
info)-> Server (This server doesn't know about Eric)
So to implement this correctly, if I am good at assuming what is your problem, just pass session information to the second server along with your request.
I will add more info if you tell me I am on the good track of understanding your problem.
---UPDATE---
You didn't explain your situation well. I am telling you this because your whole approach with the cURL may be bad decision from the start. For example, if you are trying to execute code in the same Magento codebase and that code is trapped inside some controller, perhaps you can refactor your code and encapsulate that logic inside some model and execute it directly.
But here is the example of passing session information over curl in plain php:
$strCookie = 'PHPSESSID=' . $_COOKIE['PHPSESSID'] . '; path=/';
curl_setopt( $curl, CURLOPT_COOKIE, $strCookie );
Cookie should perhaps be called "frontend" in Magento. And I checked Varien_Http_Adapter_Curl it doesn't have any method for seting CURLOPT_COOKIE option so I suggest you go with plain curl setup. You also have an option to extend adapter and add that option by your self. Just override "_applyConfig" method.
Hi
I have Facebook register in my website. I have integrated it completely without any bugs and the values are stored in the database.After the successful registration , it doesn't redirect to the exact url that i have mentioned below.
header("location:http://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth/?scope=publish_stream&client_id=yyyyy&redirect_uri=".SITE."business.php?action=favouriteshare&id=".$bid."");
It always through invalid url details.Could anyone please suggest some ideas to get this redirect correctly.
Try the following:
wrap the redirect url with quotes '
use the urlencode() method.
The scope parameter is not yet supported. Please vote this ticket to make it happen.
I have a toy facebook app I'm playing with so I can understand how it all works. It's fine if you go the the app like this: http://apps.facebook.com/pushup-challenge/ (and connect it). But if you then go to it from your facebook page, FB uses the URL http://apps.facebook.com/pushup-challenge/?ref=bookmarks.
In my log file, I see that FB is POSTing the data and including the /?ref=bookmarks to it's call to my codeigniter system. This is causing it to either say "invalid URI parameters" or give me a 404, depending on if I've edited the system/core/URI.php file to add rawurlencode() to a particular call.
I've tried using mod_rewrite to get rid of the query_string, too, but since it's POSTing, it doesn't appear to be working (though I'm not exactly sure why).
Has anyone else run into this? How did you fix it?
Thanks in advance,
Hans
try $config['uri_protocol'] = “PATH_INFO”; and set enable_query_strings = TRUE
or
set
$config['permitted_uri_chars'] = 'a-z 0-9~%.:_\-?=';
in config.php
Because it isn't calling your file by name (just ?ref=bookmarks) the server runs thru the standard default files: index.htm, index.html, index.asp. Because you need to accept a POST, you need a server that allows POSTs to htm & html if you choose to use those. Index.asp will accept POSTs on most servers, and that works for me.
SOLUTION: Add a file (index.asp), that calls the real app that you named in the App settings.
to connect to an app on facebook, the user types in
www.facebook.com/login.php?api=12312312323123123
how can I add an extra get var to this url and pass it to my script on successful login?
Do you add a redirect_url as part of the login call?
If so you can add the GET parameter to that. For instance let us say you are asking Facebook to redirect to http://tld/fbhandler after user logs in. You can change that to http://tld/fbhandler?extra=value.
This URL is specified at the time of making the (OAuth) login call to Facebook and therefore you can change the value as you see fit.
You cannot do this. Facebook will strip custom query values from the url. I have found that there are two ways to do this. The first is that they will let you have a single query value at the end of the url if you encode the ? to %3F. For example:
redirect_url=http://www.example.com%3FmyextraParameter
You could use this approach to do something like base64url encode your values and add them at the end.
The other thing that I have done is to change the parameters to be path variables
redirect_url=http://www.example.com/realUrl/parameter1/parameter2
Neither are great solutions, but I have yet to find a way to send querystring values without them being stripped off.
