I am trying to set up an app and like button on pages within my site. I thought I was all set but am getting the following error:
The app ID specified within the "fb:app_id" meta tag is not allowed on this domain. You must setup the Connect Base Domains for your app to be a prefix of....
I'm lost on how to fix this.
I recently ran in to this problem as well. Cost me quite a bit of time! It turns out that when you set your app domain, you also need to select an option from the list further down the page, with the header "Select how your app integrates with Facebook." Most likely you can just select the first option, and enter your domain.
If you don't do this it won't actually save your domain.
Your url is simply not allowed in your Application settings. (Basic Info -> App Domain) And allow your domain

I am creating an application to be able to log in with facebook on my page.
The problem is the following, I add without problem the following two domains:
www.fumigadorweb.com.ar
fumigadorweb.com.ar
The issue is that my site has two active domains, the other is elfumigadorweb.com.ar, the problem is that this domain is not allowing me to add it, it informs me of the following error:
Image - error
The application domains must match the Facebook web game URL domains
(https), mobile site URL, Unity binary URL, site URL, or secure URL of
the page tab. Fix the following domains:
I tried eliminating my other two records that it takes correctly, and adding only the one of the conflict, and neither did it.
Could you tell me what is the mistake I'm making? Do you need any other information?
From already thank you very much
elfumigadorweb.com.ar is not a sub domain of your website (http://www.fumigadorweb.com.ar). your website. Valid sub domains should have *.fumigadorweb.com.ar pattern in your case. If it could be el.fumigadorweb.com.ar instead of elfumigadorweb.com.ar then you could add it.
You have to create a new facebook app for elfumigadorweb.com.ar
I am trying to add multiple domains in my Facebook App but not succeeded as yet,
I have researched a lot and got that Facebook keeps changing its settings time to time , adding multiple domains was not possible initially but then they made it possible then again it was made unavailable.
But got no update if it can be done now,
Anyhow, I tried to put multiple domains but got error
App domains must match the domain of the Secure Canvas URL, Mobile Site
URL, Unity Binary URL, Site URL or Secure Page Tab URL. Please correct
these domains: www.chair.com, www.table.com
what does this error mean? and how to resolve it?
And is it possible to attach multiple domains with a single app?
Example of domains:
www.table.com
www.chair.com
www.desk.com
It's not possible, unless only the extension or subdomain is different.
e.g.
The following is possible:
table.com and table.co.uk and sub.table.com
The following is not:
table.com and chair.com
I was creating a app in Facebook. Its for facebook comment box in my website. But when trying to add my domain, its showing an error like in the screenshot. I tried removing 'www.', adding 'http://' etc. But not use. I also tried some other domains. Still same error. Can any one tell me the reason.? pls
As the error message is already saying, the App Domain has to be derived from on of the listed URLs. To "fix" the issue, add "Website" as a platform, and set the URL to http://www.exklusiveconnextions.com, save it and you're done. You can now set the App Domain to exklusiveconnextions.com.
I give my production server IP address as App domain in facebook application but it's not saved. It returns error as App domain is not valid. So that I cannot use my facebook connect API.
Can we give IP address as App domain in FB application? If it's not, what is the other way to do?
No, it looks like the app domain can only be a domain and not an ip address.
For example in the app settings page, near the App Domain hover the '?' and see:
Enable auth on domains and subdomain(s)
Also, I found this page: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/appproperties/ it refers to the REST api and so it's not that up to date, but it clearly states there that there are two different properties: base_domain(s) and ip_list.
I suggest that you try to put a normal domain and see what happens.
All Wrong answers. Here is the true
You must click (+ add platform)
then Select Platform choose app I select website the planet icon
Enter
Site URL http://www.yoursitehere.com
Mobile Site URL http://www.yoursitehere.com
go back and enter in App Domains: yoursitehere.com
now click save
go to Status and Review
Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?
change or move to (YES)
This is what I found works.
From the Facebook development page "Apps-YourAppName", click on Basic in the LEFT Nav.
There are 3 sections on this page: Basic Info, Cloud Services, and "Select how your app integrates with Facebook"
In the Select how your app integrates with Facebook section, select "Website"
Enter your fully qualified domain name in the Site URL dialog box. Example: http://www.mydomain.com OR http://mydomain.com (my site does not include the www so I didn't add it).
At the bottom of the page click the "Save Changes" button. You may receive a notice that it may take several minutes to blah blah blah....but you can continue with the next steps immediately.
Now, in the Basic Information section at the top of this screen, you can now add your App Domain. This should be formatted as mydomain.com. Do not add "http://" and do not add "/" at the end of the domain name.
NOTE: My site does not use the www, so I cannot confirm that it's required in Step #6. Try it both ways if you're unsure.
At the bottom of the page click the "Save Changes" button. You may receive a notice that it may take several minutes to blah blah blah....but you can continue with the next steps immediately.
At this point the error was NOT displayed as it was before.
Hope this helps!
One solution to getting over the problem of using an IP address as a valid domain is to use: xip.io
xip.io is a magic domain name that provides wildcard DNS
for any IP address
Simply add .xip.io after your url and use this as the domain name. Perfect for me as I do my development on a virtual machine!
If you don't have a domain (only the IP) just leave the "App Domains" field in blank. It works! =)
This, IMHO, is Facebook's fault as the error message is really confusing and makes you think only domains are allowed.
Hope it helps someone! =)
I'm working on an application that publishes content ('articles') on a variety of URLs, which are all controlled by the same WordPress installation (mapped domains, all powered by the same set of code/part of a network). All of the publishing is done through one central Facebook App.
I have no idea what the domains for these URLS are going to be, since they are controlled by our users who register domains and then configure them within their account on our service.
When I attempt to use Open Graph to publish content on one of these sites (that has a customized domain), they are rejected with the following error (error code 1611028):
Object at URL * * * * of type 'article' is invalid because the domain
'* * * ' is not allowed for the specified application id ' * * *'. You
can verify your configured 'App Domain' at....
Since I can't enter all of the domains into Facebook, and since they are not derived from my App URL anyway, is there any way that I can have this work? Some sort of magic OG tag I can put in the pages or something? Or is it just not possible to do what I'm trying to do?
EXAMPLE:
We control the central service (website.com) which hosts all these other sites. Normally, they are allocated something like username.website.com as their URL. The user logs into website.com and goes to their dashboard where they publish content (a blog, static pages, whatever). That content appears on their site at something like username.website.com/2012/07/04/new-content/ (it is the entirety of the content on that page.
That user may also opt to register a domain (let's say mydomain.com) and map that to their account. So now, in the example above, their content appears at mydomain.com/2012/07/04/new-content/ instead of username.website.com (and the username.website.com URL will redirect to that new, mapped-domain version).
When they publish new content, we want to be able to publish to their Wall so that their friends can see they published something new, then click through and come and see it at mydomain.com/....
The problem is that mydomain.com is one of thousands of different domains, none of which are based on the website.com URL, so we can't add them to our app. When FB tries to read the OG data from mydomain.com, it rejects it because it's not configured within our app.
Yes, rather than having the content dynamically publish to each of the separate domains, have it published to a remote host (with a single domain). Then, distribute a plugin for each of your users to dynamically pull off the content from your remote host to display on their respective webhosts.
Good luck!
