install4J, windows 2008R2 and java 6 permission issues - install4j

We are using install4j to install our application on Windows 2008R2. With Java 1.4 installed the install4j effort works fine. with Java 6 installed the install4j effort results in permission issues with C:\Program Files(x86).
Can anyone comment on the different permissions Windows 2008 might require for an install4j executable when using java 6 compared to java 1.4?
FYI Windows 2008 64bit, java 32bit, install4j 32bit
thank you

There are no differences in permission handling between Java 1.4 and Java 6. Permissions in install4j are handled by the "Request privileges" action which is typically located in the "Startup" node of your installer. For installing into C:\Program Files (x86), you need elevated privileges.
If your installer works with Java 1.4 and does not work with Java 6, there must be some other error. I would suggest to look at the file .install4j/installation.log for more information.

Powershell MQ Snap-in MO74 doesn't work correctly

I have downloaded and installed MO74: WebSphere MQ - Windows PowerShell Library on a Windows Server 2012 with IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer Version: 7.5.0.2
The original website is website http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24017698&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
I have both tried to install for powershell 64bit and for powershell 32bit.
For 64bit I can add the plugin (Add-PSSnapin IBM.Powershell.WebsPhereMQ) without errors.
Afterwards the commands (for instance a simple Get-WMQQueue) gives no errors but no results as well.
For 32bit I can't even load the plugin.
The error is:
Add-PSSnapin : The Windows PowerShell snap-in 'IBM.Powershell.WebsPhereMQ' is not installed on this computer.
Anyone has this working with Windows Server 2012 and have a clue what can be wrong?
Installed MO74 on Windows Server 2012. System already had MQ8.0 installed on it. The Get-WMQQueue cmdlet works for me.
Got to know from the MO74 developers that MO74 can be used with 32 bit PowerShell only. Support for 64 bit PowerShell is not available yet.

mongo.exe - Entry point not found

I'm trying to set up a MEAN stack and I'm having the following issue when trying to execute mongo.exe: "The procedure entry point K32GetProcessMemoryInfo could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"
I'm using Windows Vista 64bit, mongo is the latest, and I'm logged as administrator.
Thanks.
For Vista you need to install the Legacy version of MongoDb.
The 64-bit legacy build lacks newer features of Windows that enhance performance. Use this build for Windows Server 2003, 2008, or Windows Vista.

jar file cant run after compiling by netbeans

I developed an application in java (video player by vlcj),
all conditions:
my windows: 8.1
jdk: 8.1 (update 11)
it has been run successfully in netbeans(fine) but when created .jar file is executed it reported a long error that summarized below
The required native libraries are named "libvlc.dll" and "libvlccore.dll".
it is not possible for a 64-bit Java Virtual Machine to load 32-bit native libraries.
what is the solution?
plz help comrades.
You installed the x64 version of the JDK. Go to sun Java and download and install the x86 version and set it up in the systems environment settings like you did for the x64 version.
I was Facing Same Problem today But I try Running it as Administrator. Some UAC Permission are in my Java Program.
Even output Jar File not running after compiling.I convert it in An exe file with Launch4j. And run it As Administrator. Its Running.

Crystal Reports error when deployed..Could not load file or assembly 'log4net

Please help. I have a web application that was built in VS2010 and we are using the CR plugin for 2010 and everything works perfect on our local machines. When we go to deploy the web application to Server 2008 the application runs fine until we try to get to a report. When we get to a report we receive...
Could not load file or assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.10.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
We have installed the CR2010 runtimes and the file log4net.dll version 1.2.10.0 is in the GAC so we are not referencing it in the application. When we add it as a reference we get this error no matter where we are in the application, not just on the report pages. Please help!
I received the same error message after accidently installing the x86 version of the crystal reports redist on a x64 machine.
Installing the correct x64 redist fixed the problem - http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0.zip
We just ran into the same problem and it turned out to not (in our case) be the version of the Crystal Reports redist (we installed the 32 bit versions on our 64 bit machines. The way we were able to fix the problem was to
Navigate to your virtual directory Application Pool -> Advanced Settings -> Set Enable 32-Bit Applications to True
and changed the managed pipeline mode from Classic to Integrated. After that we no longer got errors of the missing log4net dll.
We also had the same issue with the 64-bit redistributable installed. In our case, we set the "Enable 32 Bit Applications" setting to FALSE in the advanced Application Pool properties and that resolved the issue.
If you have a x86 development machine and your web server is a 64-bit machine, you may be running into the problem discussed here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vscrystalreports/thread/546059a6-7179-4027-8f16-822ac6dc189a/
Visual Studio is automatically deploying a 32-bit log4net.dll into the 64-bit web server, even if you don't have it referenced in your project. Just delete the log4net.dll from your bin directory once deployment has finished because it's not actually required by the CR runtime to work.
For me I had a VB Application project and under Compile options, I had "Any CPU" selected for Target CPU and I also had the "Prefer 32-bit" checked. When the compiled app ran on a 64 bit machine, which only had the x64 runtime installed it could crash with this error, because it tried running as a 32 bit app and wanted the 32 bit runtime. Unchecking this option and recompiling made it work correctly.
Install Crystal Reports for Visual studio Runtime engine for .NET Framework 64 bit
Solved my problems.
I have 2 NLB 2008 R2 Servers, my IISs are configured to run in x32.
In one server I have installed x64 and x32 SAP redist and I have the error, in second server only the x32 and works.
To get the first server work I uninstalled all versions and reinstalled only x32, but the server start work only after a reboot.
Bye
In my case I had the error while developing with Visual Studio 2022. I did what the other answers here say, installed Runtime 64-bit, because my machine is 64 bit, and then:
(in Visual Studio) Project Debug Properties > Web > Servers > Change Bitness to x64 (using IIS Express)

JBoss Compatibility with Windows Server 2008

Our product uses the JBoss 4.0.4 as an application server. Currently we are supporting Windows Server 2003 and planning to support Windows Server 2008. We want to know that is JBoss 4.0.4 fully compatible with Windows Server 2008 (64 bit)?
Please respond if anybody installed and used JBoss with Windows 2008.
Thanks
Since JBoss is 100% pure Java you can have it working on any Operating System that supports Java. So I guess that the real question is more "does my JVM run correctly on Windows 2008". According to this guide, JBoss needs a JDK 1.5 and should run on a 32-bit or 64-bit JVM on a 64-bit Windows 2008 machine.
