and all the time I try to create a likebox code for inserting it on my web-site I see this:
"Could not retrieve id for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in."
As far as I understand, I need to get an ID, where should I get it?

The facebook like-box is designed for facebook pages only! You are trying to use your profile, that's why you're getting an error.

I used to be able to go to my Facebook profile page https://www.facebook.com/{Username} and replace the "www" for "graph" https://graph.facebook.com/{Username}.
The answer to that used to be my real facebook ID and some other info, but now I get:

Yesterday I made the exact same thing and it worked, but today it doesn't. Is there any other way of finding my ID? Does it work for anyone?
For finding any facebook group_id or page_id or user_id go to inspect element of page and find these in meta tags.

You cannot get the username field anymore. This is very well documented in the Facebook docs.

If you only have your user ID, the simplest way would be to use an online service (like this one: http://getuserid.com) and paste your Facebook username.
If you need the user ID by programming, this is different. You could in this case parse the HTML code of the page (CTRL + U will show you the HTML code of the page) and search for the term entity_id, which is the user ID. You could then use regex to extract the information.
There is no way to get your Facebook ID via the Graph API!
You can use a regular expression to find your Facebook ID. If you paste the source of a profile page (or page/group) inside http://regexr.com/3gi7q it will match the Facebook ID for you.
It is using the following regex to find the Facebook ID:

Go to your Facebook profile and right click on your cover photo, if you copy the URL it should have your Facebook id in it like so. fbid is what you want. I don't there's any AIP for it anymore. Looks like Facebook may be finally phasing it out.

You can use the sources already identified or you can right click below the navigation bar and view page source. Use your CTRL+F (find) and search for [profile_owner"].
The number listed shortly thereafter will be your global ID. It will generally look like this:
[profile_owner":"10000320024513431"].
The # is listed multiple times (like 75) in the data and follows terms such as ["profile_id"], ["uid":], and [?profileid=] to name a few.
I always us this tool https://www.graphsearcher.com/ to find my personal facebook ID. Hope can help you.
Head over to here and authenticate with it, you can then use the Graph explorer to get your ID. You'll also need an access token to view the https://graph.facebook.com/{ID} page.
I just tested this for you and it works correct.
I can see FB source and above i can see my FB ID also.
I used https://graph.facebook.com/username and tested with firefox.
Maybe your using it wrong per accident?
It seems like code 803 means no valid username.
Are you really sure you are using a correct username?

Hope you can help with the below, which I've spent most of this weekend trying to resolve but to no avail.
I use a social share and vote plugin on my website, which works perfectly for G+ Twitter Pinterest etc etc. However my facebook like button simply does not want to work.
Example, yesterday I posted this on my websites facebook page.

As you can see from the Facebook post it has 85 likes. Yet the website shows only 1 like?
The social plugin that I use asks for an App ID. I have created, and activated an App in Facebook and put the App ID in the relevant field of the plugin.
However I am not sure that the App is actually set up properly on the Facebook side, or maybe it lacks the permission to actually count the likes?
The only other point of note is that I am using another Facebook widget (the one that shows who likes our page) in a seperate module. Could this be conflicting in some way?
If anyone could help would be greatly appreciated. I really dont understand whats up with it

This is the case because those are two completely different things:
On http://www.superluigibros.com/evolution-of-mario the number of likes is the number of times the URL was liked
With https://www.facebook.com/116091541779464/photos/a.496114153777199.1073741829.116091541779464/696621417059804/?type=1 you just posted an image also present on your page to your Facebook pages. The like count show the likes only for this image
So, what you need to do is to add the OpenGraph tags properly to your website, as described at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/using-objects#selfhosted-creating Then, you shouldn't share just an image on your Facebook page's feed, but the URL instead. FB will then pull the content for the image etc. from your website upon sharing.
The like counter in your facebook post is handled separately from the likes of your website page. Each "like" that your post receive doesn't count towards the site's like counter.
EDIT: I've just tested your site's like counter, and it's counting correctly as I have just liked it myself.
I am trying to implement facebook like box for my facebook page on my own site. I copied the code from http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/ (HTML5 or any other) and pasted on my site. Box appears with all the correct information bu when I click on like, I get an error message saying
"The page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/xxxxx/111111 could not be reached."
I've been trying to find a solution for this for hours but couldn't find anything. It's nothing to do with the privileges etc.
I also ran it through Object Debugger and it didn't come up with any problem.
Does anyone has any solution for this? I created the page today, does facebook needs time to parse/index my page before like box works?

Are there any demographic restrictions on your page that would prevent it being seen by somebody logged out of Facebook? Is it the published? Those are the two most common reasons for that error that I've seen
Ok, all of a sudden it started working. Haven't changed anything in the code. So I guess Like Box won't work if you install it on the same day you create the FB Page.
I'm trying to add a facebook "like" button to my page, and it is appearing just fine. My problem is that once it is clicked by a user, it says "Like NUMBER" then resets as if the request was canceled or something.
The weird thing is that if I try to like a page using my facebook account it works, but I tried letting a friend like some content and this behavior appeared.
I created a facebook app, specified the site url with a trailing slash, and site domain. I used the app ID with FB.init, and with the open graph tags. I can't figure what I'm doing wrong here. Any help would be appreciated.

First, for the count to work correctly, Facebook needs to have access to the page (in other words a public page). Check your URL in the linter tool (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug) to ensure it can been seen by Facebook.
Secondly, ensure your og: tags are correctly setup. Once again, you can use the linter tool to do that.
Facebook like buttons will show this behavior until they have been scraped by Facebook. That scraping (facebook like docs) will occur every 24 hours, when an admin clicks the like button or the url is put in the url debugger/linter. From what I can tell doing that will solve the problem for that specific link, but not any others you may have on your site.
I don't know of a generic solution for dynamically generated pages unfortunately.
I know that it was previously possible to display your most recent Facebook statuses on your website as an RSS feed, but it seems they've changed their setup and I can't figure out where to find the feed anymore....
I saw some people searching for this a while ago, but since Facebook just released their new layout, I didn't know if this might have changed again.

Facebook appears to have killed all the public status feeds in the name of user privacy. The only way to fetch it is to build a facebook application that gets your status updates, and then associating your facebook account with that application to give it permission to access your status updates so it can put them somewhere else.
Thankfully, someone has already done that for us. Just go to http://apps.facebook.com/statusexport/ while logged in to facebook and grant the app permission. Then it will give you a public URL to an RSS feed of your status updates.

To get your status feed, follow these instructions:

It's possible the feed you're looking for has been deprecated for security purposes.
Alternatively facebook FQL on the Status table might provide an answer because it allows you to specify the user ID (for example, your own) for which to retrieve status updates, and a time frame can be specified to limit them as desired.

You can also use a RSS feed generator for your Facebook Statuses (or Photos) like the RSS Feeds application on Facebook.
It will help you generate a RSS feed for all your statuses and photos while maintaining the privacy modes.
Although, I am not a fan of the user interface the application has, but the functionality is what is awesome :)
