xcode can not recognize iPad - iphone

I just upgraded XCode to 3.2.6
but Organizer said that XCode can not find the software image to install this version
ipad:ios 4.3.3(8j3)
Welcome any comment

Yeah but Apple isn't going to let you install this version anyway.. You got to stay in the current version or if you need to perform a restore, go to iOS 5 and update Xcode to 4.2

How to upgrade Xcode 3.1.2 to Xcode 4.4.3

New to iOS, Have downloadex xcode 4.3.3 ie: xcode_4.3.3_for_lion.dmg, already the Xcode is present in this machine of the version 3.1.2 [ which i get from spotlight].
Question:
If i want new Xcode 4.3.3, then all i need to double click on xcode_4.3.3_for_lion.dmg, and then click on Xcode.
How can i make Xcode 4.3.3 is a default version, and remove the old 3.1.2 version?.
Before installation of Xcode 4 open terminal
sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all
This will uninstall Xcode 3. Then you can install Xcode 4 as always
Forget about the manual download. Open the Mac App Store, install Xcode from there. When you run it for the first time, it should prompt you to remove the old version.
If you have both the version installed in your mac. Then do one easy thing mentioned in below image
Enjoy Coding :)
I managed to remove and reinstalled somehow.. :(

xCode 4.2.3 can not compile to iOS 5.1.1 (9B208) or iOS 5.1.1 (9B206)

Yesterday after about a whole nights tinkering i manage to compile for 5.1.1
That was after i downgraded from iOS 5.1.1 (9B208) to iOS 5.1.1 (9B206) as a last desperate attempt.
But today afte a restart im back to square one.
When i go to the organizer and select devices from the top menu i get the following text as before:
The version of iOS on “xs iPhone” does not match any of the versions
of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS
SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or
update to the latest version of the iOS SDK; which is available here.
OS Installed on xs iPhone
5.1.1 (9B206)
Xcode Supported iOS Versions Latest
5.0 (9A334)
4.3
4.2
I feel completely dumbfounded that it has to be so vastly complicated getting xcode and iOS go together.
But lets say i clean out xcode and reinstall my iphone.
Is there a safe way to compile for the latest IOS "currently 5.1.1"?
As others have pointed out, you need to install the latest version of Xcode, which is 4.3.2.
We recently had this problem after the latest iOS update and upgrading Xcode solved it just fine.
I had similar problems until I upgraded my Xcode to the latest version. Upgrading should fix your issue.
I had a similar problem and I can not upgrade to Xcode 4.3.x because I am still running Snow Leopard and 4.2 still is the latest Xcode version. I solved the issue after following the steps in this answer

Can we have both Xcode 3.2.5 and Xcode 4 on the same mac

I am currently using Xcode 3.2.5 for developing my project. But, i was very impressed with Xcode 4 and want to try it out.
Can i have both the versions on my mac and try them out..???
if i install Xcode 4 and remove my previous version, will it effect my current project???
Thankyou
This is possible, but if I'm not mistaken will only work if you download Xcode 4 from the iOS Developer Center. When installing Xcode 4, make sure you install it in a separate directory from the default otherwise it will overwrite 3.2.5.
If you install Xcode 4 from the Mac App Store, you won't have the choice and all prior versions of Xcode will be removed.
yes... install the xcode 4 in a separate directory ...

upgrading Xcode

I am currently working with Xcode 3.1.3 , i wanted to upgrade it to new version of Xcode 4.0.My question is will i be able to run my older applications which were built on Xcode 3.1.3 on the new version of Xcode.
Thanks in advance
Yes you will be able to do so. However PPC support and 10.4 support is dropped on the mac. If you want to play safe, you can install Xcode 4 in a separate location leaving your Xcode 3.1.3 untouched, so you can switch between these two.
The project format of Xcode 3.2 and Xcode 4 is the same.
One option is to install Xcode 4 into another directory. I just installed the latest version yesterday and it offers you this option. Here is a link here about this also. There is also a StackOverflow question here. If everything works as you expect you can delete Xcode 3.1.3. If not, you still have your current version around.

Help me - iOs version Problem

I have iOs version 3.2.3 version. now i have installed 4.2 version in my system but when i open my xcode it shows the previous version of iOs...
Even when i go and edit the project settings, i dont get the 3.2.5 version in the drop down to select.
why this happening...
please help me out
That version number is actually the Xcode version number, not the iOS version number. Select "About Xcode" from the Xcode dropdown, and you'll see 3.2.5.
If you want to change the iOS version to the new one (I'm guessing 4.2?) try opening up the Target Info (or the Project Settings), and setting the Base SDK to the version you want. (You can also set the Deployment Target to the minimum version you want to support, as discussed here.
Once you do this, select the new SDK from the dropdown menu at the top left, and you should be good to go.
Please open Xcode then from
Xcode-> About Xcode ->Version 3.2.5 (Check out the version here)
If its still not showing please check out whether the xcode setup is successfully done. Try rebooting your mac.
P.S: For Installing Xcode 3.2.5 you need to update your Mac OS to 10.6.5
Also iOS version number will be 4.2 and not 3.2.5 i.e your iPhone/iPAd version whether be device or simulator.. So in dropdown if you see 4.2 then your setup is done successfully..
hAPPY iCODING...
Looks like you have two installations of SDK and XCode on your machine. This can happen if you have changed the installation location while installing the SDK. Hope that helps.
