i just installed munin-node on my new cent os 5.7 64bit machine via yum.
Installation went fine, i've setup munin and munin-nodes on many machines in the past, but this time i cannot get it to start.
When I try to restart it with the following command this happens:
[root#Server2 munin]# service munin-node restart

It says [OK] in the end in green, but I don't see it running anywhere.

Ive looked up line 61 in Daemonize.pm and it is:

I've tried to rename the pid file in /etc/munin/munin-node.conf but that also didnt change anything.
Output of:

Any idea what I can try?

Removing the original PID file fixed the problem.

I am trying to test out the new version of cpan-Net-DNS (version 1.35) and it fails in the Net/DNS/Resolver/Base.pm file at line 987 with the following error.

Has anyone seen this before?
This was on linux version 5.15. I tried the same thing on linux version 5.10 and it works but I can't pin point as to why. Here is the snippet of code I am running. This is on perl5.26

If you installed Zenmap in another directory, you may have to add the modules directory to the PYTHONPATH environment variable.
Kali Linux dropped Python 2 in favor of Python 3. You need to install Python 2 and the python-gtk package to use Zenmap.
First:
wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/p/pygtk/python-gtk2_2.24.0-5.1ubuntu2_amd64.deb
Then install it by dpkg:

Why gcloud command is slow to start?

Just typing gcloud for help take 5 secs.

tl;dr
It turns out that socket.gethostbyaddr(socket.gethostname()) is slow for .local hostname in macOS.
$ python -i
>>> socket.gethostname()
'hiroshi-MacBook.local'
>>> socket.gethostbyaddr(socket.gethostname()) # it takes about 5 seconds
('localhost', ['1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa'], ['127.0.0.1'])
So, for a workaround, just added the hostname to the localhost line of /etc/hosts.
127.0.0.1 localhost hiroshi-Macbook.local
After that is return value is different, but it returns in an instant.

#hiroshi's answer solved the issue for me i.e. to run gcloud components update. However, since I had installed gcloud through their Cloud SDK using a package manager, I was stuck with the following error*:
ERROR: (gcloud.components.update) You cannot perform this action
because the Google Cloud CLI component manager is disabled for this
installation.
Hence, I had to explicitly mention the apt-get libraries to perform the update. The following command helped me to get it done in one go:

Odoo 500 server internal error after installation of odoo

Hı all. Thank you for this community. I want use odoo for my job. but I'm so tired, I'm on the verge of giving up from odoo.
I would be very grateful if you help.
After installation, I can get once localhost8069 . And creating database.
ANd ı take create database error.
Database creation error: "invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xff " while parsing /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/openerp/addons/base/base_data.xml:55, near <span>--<br/> Administrator</span>
After this error ı take always 500 internal server error. I can not see login interface anymore. I just see 500 internal server error.
6 days I'm working and I could not reach a solution. I used ubuntu and pardus ( some kind debian) . And the results did not change.
But when ı used w7 ı succeed. I was able to get odoo. But ı want use odoo in linux not windows.
I guess this error about database. But ı didnt find source about confıgure postgresql for odoo. Can you help me pls ?

Let's try with the first solution:
Make sure the permission is correct for postgres engine by giving the correct one as the following:
sudo chown -R postgres:postgres /var/run/postgresql (default directory)
Plus, make sure the port 8069 is open.
I finally found a solution. The problem is very simple. This problem is caused by using debian, which is not English. The English debian worked without error.
As a result, we always use the operating system in English.
try this command: ps -A
check for postgresql & odoo proccess and kill them all
do it for few times
if you are using VMware like me restart it

IPython MPI with a Machinefile

I want to use IPython's MPI abilities with distributed computing. Namely I would like MPI to be run with a machine file of sorts so I can add multiple machines.

I might mention that it works when I run

And the output of that execution includes hostnames, so I am sure it is actually distributing. Plus I watch on top.

I guess I asked too soon. the problem was in the below line

It should have been split on the spaces with absolute path
c.MPILauncher.mpi_args = ["-machinefile", "/home/aidan/.ipython/profile_default/machinefile"]
I hope this can help someone. Note that this solves only the problem in the BASH output. The connection is made with MPI to a remote server (namely aidan-slave). If start the dacluster, then I see in top a bunch of python sessions start, symptomatic of a IPython session running remotely.
Unfortunately, DistArray examples, at least pi_montecarlo, hang indefinitely. I worked back to the source of the issue and found that the line that is hanging in line 736 in the context.py file of the globalapi module in distarray.

I think this is a symptom of a broken or bad MPI connection because the line seems to want to execute a command on all the slaves processes. I don't know how to fix it.
