Debugging in Netbeans For loop - netbeans

Can anyone help me in debugging a for loop in netbeans. The issue is that i don't want to go through all the iterations of the loop but only the 7th iteration and the last iteration. How can i do this??

You can set a conditional breakpoint in the first line inside the loop.
To define a conditional breakpoint, first create a regular one.
Then right click on the little red square in the left margin and choose "Breakpoint -> Properties".
Enable the conditions checkbox and add the condition i == 5 in there (assuming your loop index variable is named i)

how to avoid to put cursor on every line at Vs Code

When trying to select a code snippet or all of the code at visual studio code, it thinks that I want to put a cursor to every line.
It supposed to select the whole line, and I don't have to move my mouse at the end of the line in order to select everything. You can see the result from the image. how can I get back to normal?
I didn't notice I opted for column selection mode under selection tab. so problem solved.

How do you select a range of lines in Visual Studio Code?

How do you select a range of lines (from a start line number to an end line number) in Visual Studio Code?
I had to delete lines starting from line number 17158 through 1644546 which was nearly impossible to do if I used scrolling. So I followed 4 simple steps:
Go the line where you want to start deleting (17158 in my case).
Using keyboard, press Ctrl+G which opens a box to enter the line number to go to.
Enter the line number in the box (1644546 in my case). VS Code will take you to the line you wanted to go to.
Hold the shift key and click on the line. Hopefully, this should select all the lines that you wanted to delete.
Since version 1.46 it seems like you can set an anchor and select from anchor to cursor: https://code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_46#_accessibility
First set a selection anchor (default binding Ctrl+K Ctrl+B)
Then go to the line that you want, either by mouse or by Go To Line command
Then Select From Anchor to Cursor (default binding Ctrl+K Ctrl+K)
To cancel selection hit esc.
Click at the first column of the first line. Then scroll down to the last line that you want to select, HOLD Shift key and click on the last line.
Try this out...
Type #region at the start of the line which you want to select and #endregion at the end of the line and collapse it using the side ruler available in VS code .Now since it will in a single region you can select the region easily
Hi y'all I found a really fun way to do it. Ctrl-= will select to the last go back.

highlight expressions on netbeans

I want to know if there is a way to highlight the full content in an expression like if, while, etc.
I have to work in a code that is bad indented where expressions can cover over 1000 lines and I can't format it.
for exemple :
if ($somethingTrue) {
while ($somethingHappen) {
// 500 lines...
} }
if ($someCondition) {
}
look, it's very hard to see the end of the first if and what it cover...
Does someone know if there is a native feature or plugin on netbeans that do this job ?
Thanks !
You don't need any plugin/external jar file for achieving the same. Whichever expression you want to check the body of, just click on the opening brace after that expression and NetBeans will automatically show you the closing brace for that expression.
Basically, Netbeans shows the ending brace for a corresponding starting brace entry---for each of if-statements,loop-statements,method declarations,etc.
In the shown figure, see my if-statement starting with yellow brace(cursor blinking there), and the corresponding ending brace for the if-statement.
EDIT :-
You also can also have a brand new-code fold,just by typing fcom, and hitting (Tab) button on KeyBoard. And, then put whatever block you want inside it and done. Expand whenever you wish and collapse whenever you want.
Check the position of my mouse-pointer which shows the current block of if-statement. You can expand and collapse as per your wish. And, also you can have several of them for each of your expression-tree.

comment out an interval in matlab through command line

I have a very long script in MATLAB (1500 lines) and want to test two different settings. To do so, I need to comment out some codes in a specific interval (e.g. form line 234 to line 255).
Is there a function in MATLAB that takes the intervals and comments/uncomments them automatically?
You can just highlight your code and click on the comment button. Highlight and click on uncomment to remove comment.In windows you may also use shortcut keys cntrl+r and cntrl+t. But yeah, the if else is a better idea but takes more time in the beginning to code in the if else.
I would agree with others that putting your code into a block surrounded by if-else would probably be a better solution than what you originally asked for.
But if you want to do it, you can use the following function:
function commentout(fromline, toline)
currentDoc = matlab.desktop.editor.getActive;
currentDoc.insertTextAtPositionInLine(sprintf('%%{\n'), fromline, 0)
currentDoc.insertTextAtPositionInLine(sprintf('%%}\n'), toline+1, 0)
This will work in most recent versions of MATLAB.
To uncomment, I think you'll need to do something a bit more complex, like getting the entire text from the active document, removing the specified comment lines, then setting the entire text back again (get, modify and set the Text property of the document).

suppress line conditional in crystal report

I've a vertical line that i want to suppress with a condition.
Unfortunately I don't see the condition option by a line.
When I use an empty textbox, all the other text is moved down.
Is there conditional another suppress option for a line?
You can't conditionally suppress a line in CR. I know of two options to get around that:
Put the line in its own section and then conditionally suppress the section.
Put a textbox over the line and then conditionally format the background of the textbox by right-clicking on the textbox -> Format Field -> Border tab -> check Background check box -> click "x+2" box to enter conditional formula, The formula would be something like if condition then crWhite else NoColor, where crWhite will hide the line, NoColor will show it.
Simple way,
Insert Text object increase the length of the object as required.
Go to Format Object -> select border property and choose Top or bottom lines.
Put some text (like under score or space) for object text and minimize the width of the object so that you can't see the provided data to the object but still border appears as a line.
As it worked for me.
I found an alternative to suppressing a line object, think this might help
CrystalReport1 cr1 = new CrystalReport1();
(cr1.ReportDefinition.ReportObjects["line_object_name"] as LineObject).LineStyle = CrystalDecisions.Shared.LineStyle.NoLine;
