Is it possible to change the eclipse title - eclipse

Which file to edit to change the Eclipse IDE title: "Java - Eclipse SDK" to something of my own, say "Test - SDK"
Also which file contains the contents of About dialog box under help menu. Is it possible to edit it?

1- Try window > Preferences > General > Workspace > Worspacename (shown in window title)
2- idk :/

For the About dialog there are two means of customizatoin:
An API
Product Branding

You could also use the "-showLocation" option as well.
This needs to be used in the startup paramater.
I am using Windows and I modified my Eclipse shortcut to have the parameter (In Eclipse shortcut properties > Shortcut tab > Target textbox)
C:\Eclipse3.7\eclipse.exe -showLocation
Hope this helps

The keyword is "branding".

Can't see project explorer in STM32CubeIDE [duplicate]

Suddenly my project explorer window has disappeared from Eclipse. I try selecting Windows > Show View > Project Explorer, but nothing happens. What can I do?
Try Window --> Perspective --> Reset Perspective.... Remember that your own settings, if any, will also be reset.
Try to close Eclipse IDE and reopen it and
click on window->show view->project explorer
For me it was like this...
Window->Show View->Other->General->Project Explorer
Or
Window->Open Perspective->Other->Java (default)
Open Eclipse IDE
Enter "Project Explorer" on Quick Access (Search text box).
Either select from drop-down or press Enter
Window -> Perspective -> Reset
Reset the IDE
Window -> Show View -> Project Explorer
Select Window->Show View, if it is not shown there then select other. Under General you can see Project Explorer.
If none of the above solutions work, Try Window-> New Window
I had encountered the same problem as well. The following solution helped me to get over it:
Window -> Show View -> Package Explorer.
You can use the shortcut as well. It's Alt + Shift + Q, P
Using the latest Luna upgrade.
The only solution that worked was Window >> New Window.
It's very easy to lose that critical bar.
If you are on either Eclipse or Spring tool suite then follow the below steps.
(1) Go to 'Window' on the top of the editor. Click on it
(2) Select show view. You should see an option 'Project Explorer'. Click on it.
You should be able to do it.
Close the current perspective:
Reopen it using Window -> Open perspective.
i had also encountered this issue.
.
This Solution worked for me....
windows->navigation->maximize active View or Editor(ctrl + M)
.
in the screen you can see on left side navigation menus ... now click on those buttons one by one ....you will get your solution...
Try changing the perspective to JavaEE and then check.
Not sure if this is problem but, this ticked me off for a while since I did not realize what was happening at first - maybe this will help others.
Its not really a problem, just the way Eclipse works. (I'm use to Visual studio)
Its all about Perspectives!
I set up an (existing) PHP project in eclipse(neon) and then tried to configure and run debug. A Popup "Confirm Perspective Switch" is shown - I selected "Yes", not realizing what it actually does. The "perspective" then changes and you no longer see the project explorer anywhere. You cant "open" the project explorer window from top nav > window > show view, since its no longer there (which is BS, it should show something that gives you indication of current and other "perspectives" - at least for newbie.) No where now does it give project explore options.
Now you must change the "perspective" back from debug to PHP (at least in in my case).
This can be done a couple ways, easiest is from the icons on right top right side side. One icon would be the "bug", and next to it is the PHP icon. Just click the icon "perspective" you want. The other way is from top nav bar > window > Perspective > open Perspective, then select PHP. Could they hide this any deeper?
I know this is likely second nature to those who have used eclipse for a while, but was frustrating to me (on day one) till I figured out what was going on.
Please Select window in tool bar
Move to show view
Select project explorer
applied the same method to reset the perspective, no changes appaired then I restart the Eclipse IDE which was fine then.

Eclipse Luna: how restore main menu?

From settings in Window I hid some elements and Window too - how I can restore default view? Maybe I can edit something in configuration files?
Right click on the name of the perspective and choose "Reset", this will set the default settings of the perspective.
Override file workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench/workbench.xmi with this (Stackoverflow not allow me to post file here)

How to make Eclipse as a Default Editor FOREVER in Mac OS-X?

The way with Get Info > Open with > Change All bla .. bla .. bla .. doesn't work actually. When i set these way for a type .php (for example), it always open with XCode next time.
I've set File Association inside Eclipse already. But whatever, it doesn't work.
So how to solve it?
My Eclipse is Helios on Mac OS X 10.7.3.
Right click on file and choose "get info", then in the "open with" section, apply by clicking "change all".
I've use the method I describe here on 3 or 4 different Macs and it always has worked for me.
There is a way to do this per file type. I found it on Tech-recipes
Ctrl-click on the file you want to open
Click Open with
Select Other
Select the applcation you want to open the file
Select Always Open With
Click Open button
Ctrl-click on the file again
Click Get Info
Under Open With pick the app that you want to become the default
Click the Change All button
I hope this helps
I had to uninstall Adobe Flash Builder, so that Eclipse could be selected from the list.
(Eclipse.app was greyed out in the list of apps and Flash Builder kept setting itself as default app).
Get Info > Open with > Change All worked for me.
Install this plugin on eclipse :

You right click on the jsp file and then highlight "Open With" .You will get options like JSP Editor, Text editor, Web Page Editor. Please Select "Web Page Editor" option.
Right click to the empty area in code page > go to Open With section > select WindowBuilder Editor.
The Design Page will appear left-down. I solve it on Eclipse Neon.

Eclipse IDE: Add/change default filetypes?

When I create a new file in Eclipse, there's a wide selection of different alternatives appearing in Eclipse.
However I am missing a couple of file which I need to open the "file create wizard" to create - JS files included.
How can I add my own file types as a default choice to appear in the "new files" menu?
Screenshot of the menu I am referring to:
Puuh - just when I had given up I accidentally found this:
Try this: Right click on Eclipse's
toolbar and choose "Customize this
perspective" option. You will see a
dialog box, and on "Shortcuts" tab
choose "New" from "Submenus:"
droplist.
Find "PHP" in the left pane and check
the checkbox next to it. It will
enable both "PHP File" and "PHP
Project" in "New" menu of your
perspective. You can do the same to
other file editors as well. (HTML,
CSS,....

Yes, from the Eclipse's toolbar, right click > Customize perspective... > Menu Visibility > File > New > check and uncheck file types.
