How to add the button in uitableviewcell in ipad - iphone

I am new in ipad development i want to add the button in uitableviewcell but it is not displaying. how to add this button in tableview cell. I am writing this code in cellforRowAtIndexPath My code is:
UIButton *cellImgButton = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(300, 350, 40, 40)];
cellImgButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
UIImage *buttonImage = [UIImage imageNamed:#"remove.png"];
[cellImgButton setBackgroundImage:buttonImage forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[cellImgButton addTarget:self action:#selector(cellImgButton:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[cell.contentView addSubview:cellImgButton];
Thanks in Advance:

The problem is in your button's frame. Try this :
UIButton *cellImgButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
[cellImgButton setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 5, 40 , 40) ];
UIImage *buttonImage = [UIImage imageNamed:#"remove.png"];
[cellImgButton setBackgroundImage:buttonImage forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[cellImgButton addTarget:self action:#selector(cellImgButton:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[cell.contentView addSubview:cellImgButton];

Try this code. You mentioned the 'Y axis' is 350. Please check you row height. And give the 'Y' axis related to your row height.
UIButton *cellImgButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
[cellImgButton setFrame:CGRectMake(10, 5, 40 , 40) ];
[cellImgButton setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"remove.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[cellImgButton addTarget:self action:#selector(cellImgButton:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[cell.contentView addSubview:cellImgButton];

You can just create a prototype cell in interface builder and drag a UIButton in the cell. after that create a new UITableViewCell class and link the button.
don't forget to add a identifier to the cell

1)check Table cell height
2)Check frame size of button (means x and y axies)

How to add a button in UIScrollView with addSubview?

I am new to iOS development and I have a problem with UIScrollView. First of all, I've created a Scroll View in a storyboard and added
#property (retain, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIScrollView *mainScroll;
in view controller handler
In the viewDidLoad method I have the following code:
- (void)viewDidLoad
{
[super viewDidLoad];
self.mainScroll.contentSize = CGSizeMake(100.0,100.0); // Have to set a size here related to your content.
// You should set these.
self.mainScroll.autoresizingMask = UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleWidth | UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight;
self.mainScroll.minimumZoomScale = .5; // You will have to set some values for these
self.mainScroll.maximumZoomScale = 2.0;
self.mainScroll.zoomScale = 1;
UIButton* b = [[UIButton alloc] init];
[b setBounds:CGRectMake(.0f,0.f,100.0,100.0)];
[self.mainScroll addSubview:b];
}
But the button does not appear in the simulator. However if I add a button on storyboard in the IB, the button appears and I can scroll the view.
How can I add the button in code?
Try this code
UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[button setTitle:#"Show View" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
button.frame = CGRectMake(80.0, 210.0, 160.0, 40.0);
[self.mainScroll addSubview:button];
bounds and frame are not the same thing.
Use this code instead...
UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[button setTitle:#"Hello" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
button.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 100, 44);
[self.mainScroll addSubview:button];
You need to set scroll view contents size, something like the following code.
[self.mainScroll setContentSize:CGSizeMake(width, height)];
Try this :
UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[button setTitle:#"Hello" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
button.frame = CGRectMake(self.mainScroll.frame.origin.x + 25 ,self.mainScroll.frame.origin.y +25, 50, 44);
[self.mainScroll addSubview:button];
Best and easiest way to make a button from code is:
UIButton* yourButton = [[UIButton alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(x, y, width, height)];
[yourButton setTitle:#"Your Title" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
// if you set the button's image the title won't be visible, because button's title is "under" the image. I recomend you to use this if you have a cut and dried image.
[yourButton setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"yourImage.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
// if you set the button's background image, button's title will be visible
[yourButton setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"yourBackgroundImage.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
// you can add target to the button, for handle the event when you touch it.
[yourButton addTarget:self action:#selector(handleToucUpInside:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
// then add the button
[self.view addSubview:yourButton];
- (void) handleToucUpInside:(id)sender{
// here you can do anything you want, to handle the action
}

Putting a button in table footer view

I am creating a custom button and putting it in my table's footer view but the button is going way out from the right corner.
What is wrong here!?!
Here is my code and output image:
UIButton *aButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
[aButton setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[aButton setTitleColor:[UIColor colorWithWhite:0.0 alpha:0.56] forState:UIControlStateDisabled];
[aButton setBackgroundImage:[[UIImage imageNamed:#"test.png"] stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth:kButtonSliceWidth topCapHeight:0] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[aButton setTitle:#"Click me" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[aButton.titleLabel setFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:kFontSize14]];
[aButton setFrame:CGRectMake(10.0, 15.0, 300.0, 44.0)];
[self.tableView setTableFooterView:aButton];
I added the button in the UIView and then set the tableFooterView to this UIView object and it worked. We cannot directly put UIButton as tableFooterView.
Try doing like this. Set IBOutlet UIView *footerView; and synthesize it. Add it as a subview using the method-
- (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section {
if(footerView == nil) {
//allocate the view if it doesn't exist yet
footerView = [[UIView alloc] init];
//create the button
UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeRoundedRect];
[button setFrame:CGRectMake(10, 3, 300, 44)];
//set title, font size and font color
[button setTitle:#"Click Me" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[button.titleLabel setFont:[UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:18]];
//set action of the button
[button addTarget:self action:#selector(clickPressed:)
forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
//add the button to the view
[footerView addSubview:button];
}
//return the view for the footer
return footerView;
}
One important addition to Legolas' fine answer: You'll need to implement the tableView delegate method:
- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section {
foot 50;
}
This was driving me nuts because the button (or, in my case, buttons) were not responding to the touch event. Adding the delegate method made it all better. :-)

iphone customizing UIButtons

how to customize the UIButton so that it will display other than the default button style.
UIButton *btn=[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
btn.frame = CGRectMake(10.0, 20.0, 50.0, 50.0); // You can change the x, y, width, height.
[btn setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"img.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[self.view addSubView:btn];
You can do something like this:
UIImage *btnImage = [UIImage imageNamed:#"images-01.png"];
UIButton *btnGo = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
btnGo.frame = CGRectMake(85,123, 100, 26);
btnGo.backgroundcolor = [UIColor clearColor];
btnGo. setImage:btnImage forState: UIcontrolStateNormal];
[btnGo.titleLabel setFont: [UIFont systemFontOfSize:14]];
btnGo addTarget: self action:#selector(btnGoClicked) forControlEvents: UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
You can use this
UIButton *customButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
customButton.frame = CGRectMake(899, 5, 82, 55);
customButton.tag = 123;
[customButton addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonToggleForHide) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[self.view addSubview:customButton];
and make event for that using
-(void)buttonToggleForHide{...}
In interface build simply change the type from rounded rect to custom and then specify a new background image.
In code:
UIButton* b = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
UIButton *btn=[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
Set the background image on it, set Type=Custom in interface builder.
Do you mean display button with custom image? You can try this:
UIButton *button = [[UIButton alloc]initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"button.png"]];
[button release];
UIButton *button=[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
button.frame = urRequiredFrame;
[button setImage:yourCustomImage forState:UIControlStateNormal];
button addTarget:self action:#selector(buttonPressed:) forControlEvents: UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[self.view addSubView:button];
#shabbir 1st select the button then press cmd+1 change the button type to custom
if it right select my answer
other way is that
UIButton* b = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
And if you want to call image on button then use this
UIButton *button = [[UIButton alloc]initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"button.png"]];
[button release];
