To whoever that can help,
My question comes from another topic # Open Maps app from Code - Where/How to find the "Current Location"?.
Did anyone successfully use the source code from martip # http://www.martip.net/blog/localized-current-location-string-for-iphone-apps with the ‘LocalizedCurrentLocation.zip’ file?
I've been trying but I'm not sure where I should place the example codes & how to 'call' the strings. I'm sorry for posting such newbie question but I have no where else to go~
I’ve been trying to work with it but I’m kinda lost. I’m not sure how to ‘call’ the localized string and use the ‘example usage’. I apologize for asking such a newbie question.
Please help me out here as I’m scratching my head over this matter. Anyone? Please~
Thanks in advance!^^
P/S: I'm actually trying to open iPhone maps from my app with directions from 'Current Location'. I know there are 2 ways of doing it; by CoreLocation (pass lon/lat) and replacing 'Current Location' with Strings BUT as I mention I'm a real beginner here and would appreciate it if anyone can advise & instruct me on which way is better & how to accomplish it. Btw, I'm using jquery and phonegap.
I have just completed the same task for current location. I came to know that, probably u also know that, we can't get current location in simulator. For just checking that is ur app working for location, u can add .gpx file and set ur current static location.
This is what I know...:)

I'm developing an hybrid app and I want to skip the passcode screen after having logged.
I've tried following a post about Kapsel-Logon where it is explained how to implement it, but it doesn't work for me. I don't know if the latest release makes changes null.
The file I tried to modify is:
C:\KapselSDK\plugins\logon\www\common\modules\LogonController.js
Can you help me or suggest where I wrong or what can I do/look?
yes the file that you need to change is the LogonController.js
You can find here what exactly you need to do in order to get rid the passcode screen.
Good luck!
I am trying to create my own gtk3 application. I like to use mallard to display some help about how to use my application. However I do not know how to code such that when the help menu item is clicked the help (mallard) is shown. I have the .page files already ready.
Please note, I am not asking how to create help files using mallard. But rather how to integrate mallard into my gtk3 help.
Good question. In cases like this, I always look on git.gnome.org to see how Gedit does it. That's an excellent 'example' application.
First, look here at how they organize their help files:
help
\--C
| \--*.page
\--Makefile.am
\--ar
\--bg
\--ca
\--...other languages...
In help/Makefile.am, they use #YELP_HELP_RULES# to install the files (which is set up by YELP_HELP_INIT in configure.ac.)
Then, when the user clicks Help/Contents, they open the URI help:gedit or help:gedit/link_id with gtk_show_uri() (see here, in the functions gedit_app_show_help_impl() and gedit_app_help_link_id_impl()) The files are then, presumably, automatically fetched by the desktop help system, translated into the proper language, and displayed in Yelp.
I am an iPhone developer and a beginner in Titanium Studio. I have some ideas about basic concepts of using view, window, tabBar in Titanium. I need to proceed advance to deal with MapViews. Where can I find some guidelines or some samples to work with GeoLocations, open a mapView, get the current location, get latitude and longitudes, point annotation on the specified location. I have another basic question and it will be very silly as I started learning Titanium yesterday. How can I print a string as I use 'NSLog' and 'printf'? Answers are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
In order to find the details of the objects you want to use, you need to go to the details of
Titanium.Geolocation
Titanium.Map
If you want to display the string on the screen you can use
Titanium.UI.Label
There is a very good code example you can use Seven days with Titanium
To print in console you can use,
Ti.API.info("String to Print");
Ti.API.debug("String to Print");
Ti.API.error("String to Print");
Ti.API.warn("String to Print");
Check that Geolocation and Map API (Links already provided by Muhammad Zeeshan) and try to implement a sample code. If find any difficulties than you can post to community again.
Cheers
i am trying to use the goTo function to switch between different divs.
but in the function goTo(id,animation)
it is not going to that id.
Can anyone please help me with this problem.
Thanks,
Devan
This is difficult to diagnose without looking at your code. I have a few ideas, but it would be best if you were to share the problematic section of your code for others to investigate.
A few questions/ideas:
1) Check to ensure you have not used the same div ID more than once.
2) Have you been able to successfully use the goTo function at all?
3) Can you create a basic HTML page that uses this function successfully?
4) What version of jQTouch are you using? Does the goTo function work once, and then freeze every time afterwards? I reported a bug regarding this behavior a while ago. Not sure if it's been resolved yet, but you could see if an older version of jQTouch might help.
Again, without examples of your code... I'm taking wild guesses. Consider sharing the problematic section and someone might be able to pinpoint the issue.
Don't put animation, without animation worked for me...
eg..
jQT.goTo('#rest');
I am developing an application in which I input text; when I hit enter it will speak. Does anyone know any sound engine or source code I should include so that it will talk? I have been trying to make this for the last four months but am not able to get it working. Please help me with this.
Have you tried using FLITE? It's easy to use and works quite well.
