Facebook Graph API - Get all pages and APP manages - facebook

Is there a way to query for all access_tokens or page_ids that an app has access to? Instinctively I thought I could do me/accounts?access_token= but it looks like it returns all the pages I have access to, not necessarily the ones the app is authorized to manage.
So I know I can check for an access token by calling each page and passing my page access token aka: <graph>/page_id?access_token=xxxx&fields=access_token
I saw that most of these tokens are also in me/accounts but I really am trying to get the view of what pages an APP is managing. That make sense?
Preferably I am looking for a way to get page_id's+access tokens but I would be willing to settle for a graph call that returns all page_ids that I manage, and I will manually query each one.
Do all accounts that I have access to via an app, also show up in my me/accounts?
Any suggesitions ?

So my issue was me/accounts was skewed because I granted permission to the app to "manage pages." As a result any app that am admin for will show up in the me/accounts?access_token=.
Your options for geting access tokens are:
me/accounts?access_token=<app_token>
/page_id/?fields=access_token&access_token=<app_token>

is this a page tab and you want to query what pages it is installed to? Or are you saying your app has asked for the accounts permission and you want to know what it can post to? If the latter I think you should be able to post to all pages associated with the account. This should return the page_id and the access_token

Facebook insights via graph.facebook.com authentication flow

I am trying to programatically grab a few insights metrics from facebook for various pages (about 50 clients). Therefore I want to automate this.
I created a facebook app and have my app_id and app_secret. I also created a app_access_token which doesn't expire?
My question is this: How do I get the page access token for each of the pages I want to get insights from? Currently I...
STEP 1) ...went to the Query Explorer and seleted my app and grabbed a user_access token with the manage_pages and read_insights permissions.
STEP 2) I then used that user_access_token to go to https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/{pagename}?fields=access_token&access_token={user_access_token} to get what I presume is the page_access_token.
STEP 3) I then use this token to do my queries for things like https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/{pagename}/insights/page_impressions?access_token={page_access_token}.
Now since the app is already OKAYed, shouldn't be there a way to grab that user_access_token in step 1 programatically? They all expire except the app_access_token I described above. Can I use that token somehow in step 1?
I am not using and SDKs just pure https calls.
Actually it is possible. I managed to get an extended page access token by doing this:
https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?grant_type=fb_exchange_token&client_id=[app-id]&client_secret=[app-secret]&fb_exchange_token=[short-lived-token]
from here. Basically you get a short lived user token and then use that to get a page access token and then use that with your app id/secret to get an extended page token that never expires (perfect for embedding in an automated reporting app).
It is convoluted but it works. And as a bonus if you register the APP on Facebook business manager, that page token will work on all sites you have access to under that business manager account.

How do I grant my app permissions on pages or groups I created?

I have an app, and I can write to user's walls with it, having requested the publish_stream permission when they sign in.
I've also created a page and a group, and would like my app to be able to write to those. (Specifically, I want my back-end server to post some updates to those periodically, without a user being involved.) The ability to do this seems to be implied by the descriptions of the /feed parts of those here https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/page/ and here https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/group/ . However, I can't seem to find a way to authorize the app to write to these pages. Those docs say it can be done if you have publish_streams and manage_pages. OK, but how do I grant those to my app?
In the user case, you request those permissions when the user signs in via the OAuth flow. However, the page and the group never sign-in, so there's no way for them to grant the app permission. I looked around the settings pages for the group and the page, and couldn't find anything that will let me add the app. So how do I give the app the required permissions to post to the group and the page?
Found it!
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/application/
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/howtos/login/login-as-page/
"Application Page Access Tokens
To perform the following operations as an Application Page, and not the current user, you must use the Application's Page access token, not the user access token commonly used for modifying Graph API objects nor the Application access token. This access token can be retrieved by issuing an HTTP GET to /USER_ID/accounts with the manage_pages permission. This will return a list of Pages (including Application profile pages) to which the user has administrative access, along with an access_token for each Page.
Note: Applications that are configured as Native/Desktop apps will not be able to make API calls that require an application access_token."
So:
I went to http://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ and, as me, created an access token with "manage_pages" permission.
I then went to https://graph.facebook.com/$myname/accounts?access_token=$accesstoken
and it gave me a list pages and apps that I had given permission to. I copied the access_token from the relevant page, and pasted that into my code, so that the server-side create event code always used that access token.
And it worked!

Facebook Graph Api access Alcohol Related Page

I am looking for a solution to fetch the feeds of an alcohol-related/age-restricted Facebook Brand Page by a website or back-end service to show these infos in that website for any user.
i.e: https://graph.facebook.com/JimBeam
The standard call results with an error or false.
I know the reason is the age-restictrion because of the relation to alcohol.
If I am connected to Facebook and add an access_token (user-token or page-token) to the request, I get everything I need, but it doesn't work if I am not connected.
If I request the page-token with offline_access, it also does not work when I am not connected to Facebook.
I am a bit confused with all this token types, offline_access, permissions and so on.
Is possible to get the fb-graph-feed of an age-restricted page and load that into a website?
To get an age-restricted feed you need to have a user access token that meets the criteria for the page. So if a user is visiting your site, they will need to authenticate your app, and then you can use the resulting access token to pull information to your website from that restricted page.
You should not be using a user's access token to display content to another user who does not meet the restrictions on the Facebook page.
An added problem is that Facebook does not expose a page's restrictions via the API, so you can't tell if a user has permission to see the page until your API request returns no data.

Possible bug with test users and page access tokens

Possible Facebook bug: First I am posting here because for some reason the button to create a bug never appears when I go to https://developers.facebook.com/bugs !
Facebook test users don't behave exactly like real users: If you make a call to graph api fql using a page access token to retrieve basic info for the user like name etc the api returns nothing. The reason why I am using a page access token is because I am making a batch request which requires the page access token. Real users users return the basic info like name with the page access token but test user don't.
Thanks

No access token facebook application authentication

I'd like to show my facebook wall posts on my website.
So i don't want to authenticate users with a dialog, to grant them some rights, i just want to show him my wall with comments (no ability to add comment just read only access).
As i know there isn't unexpired tokens now so is it possible to access just my data without requesting token every time it expires?
I'm using asp.net mvc but i think this sultion doesn't depend at platform at all.
You should:
Make your Facebook Posts public
Call the API endpoint: https://graph.facebook.com/{your_id}/feed?access_token={app_access_token} with your user_id and valid application access_token
Show the results on your website.
The App Access Token doesn't expire so you won't have a problem. As long as the posts are public, the API will be able to pick them up. In theory, your posts should be public anyway so anonymous users can see this.
This also gives you the ability to share stuff privately and not have it show up on your website.
