How to add custom UIbutton into UIAlertView? - iphone

I have a question about customize UIAlertView
I am customize a UIAlertView from even the background and button. I add the custom button into it, however I can't trigger the action of the button. The custom buttons are added into UIAlertView , but how can't I do add action to them? Please help me out. Is it because UIAlertView can't let us have custom buttons?

Add that buttons properly

You can use custom view for UIAlertView. If there is a problem with your secondButton its a problem maybe because you set the target as nil, it should be self
[secondButton addTarget:self action:#selector(addFavorite:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
Just tried and got it working with :

[testButton setFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 40, 40)];
[testButton addTarget:self action:#selector(someAction) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[testAlert addSubview:testButton];
I'm able to use my someAction method.

How to add a custom image to a navigation bar and keep the back method in tact?

I have the following to add a custom image as a back button. The problem is that it overrides the default navigation controller back method.
How can I correct this?

BackgroundImage of UIButton sometimes did not change with touchUpInside event

The UIButton is set as following code:
UIButton *btn = [[UIButton alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 27, 27)];
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"imgUp.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"imgDown.png"] forState:UIControlStateHighlighted];
[btn addTarget:self action:#selector(btnPressed:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
If I touch the btw quickly, the imgDown.png will not appear but the action btnPressed: is fired. How could it be fixed? Any help is appreciated:)
Add this line in your code:
[btn setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:#"imgDown.png"] forState:UIControlStateSelected];
You should call the setHiglighted: method for the button (btn) inside of btnPressed: function.
The following code can solve the problem.

UIBarButtonItem init with custom view selector not working properly

I'm trying for hours to make a left button work properly and mimic a back button.
My code to create the button:

Do this add selector to custom button as it is view of bar buttom:

UIBarButtonItem with image and text

I have to create a UIBarButton on the having a globe and a text "Map" written on it.
What I have done:
I have added a UIButton with the image of the globe as backgroundImage.
Set the text on the button.
Then created a UIBarButton initWithCustomView from the above button.
Given it style as Bordered.
Result:
Now what i got is a plane button with the globe image stretched on that which is overlapping with the Text in it.
I have searched for this a lot but i only found links which show the image in background and the text above the button. Nothing like the image and text together.
Can anyone help me in creating it the way it is shown in the attachment.

iPhone SDK: Non-transparent subviews in transparent view

I have a subview that has been added to my UIView. The idea is that the subview is a hovering panel with uibuttons. The subview is given an alpha of 0.2, as the user needs to be able to see what is behind it.
The problem is that when I add uibuttons to the subview, they inherit the alpha from the subview (I want the buttons to be non-transparent and have an alpha of 1.0). I've tried to tackle this problem by iterating through the uibuttons and setting their alpha back to 1.0 without success. Solutions?

You should create topHoverView with alpha 1.0 and a transparent background color. Then add a subview with a black background that covers the complete view with alpha 0.2 and then add the buttons to topHoverView:
