Is it possible to make nXML mode more convenient for web development?
Specifically:
Treat <? ... ?> bits as if they didn't exist
Don't issue "Unknown element" warnings when the XML schema is
unknown
I'd rather not use a multi-mode
Edit:
Regarding point 2, the vacuous schema is supposed to do that, but it gets confused when there is no root element. A quick fix is to wrap everything in a tag with any name
Edit2:
A better fix still, might be to write a script that will:
Check if the schema is vacuous, after entering nxml mode
If it is, add <temporary-root-tag> in the beginning of the document
Before saving, remove the tag
After saving, put the tag back
Setting (rng-validate-mode 0) is probably a good start.
Do you know about nxhtml mode? It is specifically for web development and it builds on nxml.

I'm working on a Visual Studio Code extension, where some settings are required for it to work properly. Right now, in case the user has forgotten something, I'm showing a warning message indicating this, and telling them to fix this property in the settings. I would, however, like to add a button that opens the settings page of that property.
However, after looking around for over an hour, I can't seem to find any support for this in the Api, or anyone else asking this question (which I find a bit weird?). If it really doesn't exist, I'd still expect at least 1 other person asking this somewhere, but as far as I can see there's absolutely nothing.
Is it possible to open the settings window (preferably even filtering them down to only my extension's properties/the one property that has to be filled in) from code?
Thanks in advance
I found it out myself after digging through the keybinds window. You can use the following to open the settings:
vscode.commands.executeCommand("workbench.action.openSettings2");
I did not, however, find how to pass a search query into it to open a specific place in the settings.
EDIT: You can use openSettings & add the search query as an extra argument to executeCommand. For example - if your property is defined as my.extension.property in package.json, you can use this:
vscode.commands.executeCommand("workbench.action.openSettings", "my.extension.property");
I would like to use magnific popup for a site which is still in development, but unfortunately nothing happens after the installation and adding the static content in my template.
No matter what i try no popup comes up.
If someone would like to help me i will provide access to the site.
Thanks a lot!
First thing to do:
look at your source code: does the 'link' show any sign of 'magnific popup' code?
Added classes? id?
Second: do you see any extra javascript and/or stylesheet that is added by the extension?
If you answer negative to 1 of these, the extension does not output anything. Sounds logic, but it is the first step. Is it a solution? Nope, it means your live just got a bit more worse, but hang in there !
If it does show any code from the ext: look at your console, are there any js errors occurred ? (if you don't know what console is, or (even worse) you work with IE) please read about chrome console of at least install Firefox with firebug.
My best beth would be a JS error...
Can it be possible that the ext itself does not work?
Does your php error logs tell you that the extension is behaving badly?
Do you see errors in the typoscript analyser (or whatever it's called to analyse the css_styled_content and other TS spaghetti )
If not, then no, it is not the ext.
Again, i'm betting my wive, three horses and a barrel of beer on JS erros.
Good luck mate !
ps: IF i'm wrong, i'm not sending you my wife by postal service. Loads of trouble last time. Nor the horses, same shizzle ..
the problem is: my web application uses ZK, which automatically generates random UUID for each web element.
When I try to record some basic test-case with Selenium IDE, it automatically tries to use these randomly-generated ID's, without even giving me a good alternative.
Is there a way to forbid Selenium IDE to use IDs while locating elements?
Possible workaraounds:
Implement ID generator in ZK: I've thrown away this possibility, because the application GUI is too complex for this task, and ID should be unique for whole sesion, which make this workaraound really hard to implement, when you have same elements on different page.
Find another recording tool: I've only found XLT script developer, which does the work by writing DOM-path using classes (which zk gives plenty) - but sometimes the location strategy gives false path, which is then not reproducible. Any good alternatives here?
You can change locater builder by changing the order of the locater in options>locater builder.
For example if you want to give first preference to css: name drag it on the top so when you start recording it will first give the preference to css name
Hope this will help you
Last days I search for best and shortest way to convert html files to pdf. Since I create my html files with C program and see them through gtkwebkit which uses cairo it should be some efficient and direct way to convert content of showed page to html with C (I think).
But can't find any example or direction to go on the net.
Until now, among different virtual printers, I find only commandline tools which are maded in perl or which depends on qt what is not wanted.
Please for any suggestion, example or advice to get this functionality from gtkwebkit and if not, maybe something with some tiny C library.
As far as I can tell from reading the documentation (haven't tried it out myself):
Get the main frame with webkit_web_view_get_main_frame().
Create a GtkPrintOperation with gtk_print_operation_new().
Set the export-file property on your print operation to be the name of the PDF you want to export to.
Print the frame with webkit_web_frame_print_full(). Make sure to pass GTK_PRINT_OPERATION_ACTION_EXPORT as the 'action' parameter.
I once wrote some code, to accomplish that without opening a window. But then I ran into a problem with using that code from multiple threads (in a webserver e.g.). I made some research and I figured out that gtk itself is single threaded. So I made my code thread safe, by queuing the print operations to the main thread. Anyway, if it helps, check it out... https://github.com/gnudles/wkgtkprinter
I have an MS Access 2003 database that I'm using to develop a basic little inventory app. I have added some extraneous forms along the way and I wanted to get them out of the DB. I deleted most of them just fine but one of them appears to have left behind its VBA Object. All that's in the object is Option Compare Database. Now whenever I try to work with the database, I get the following error:
The form name 'Transaction1' is misspelled or refers to a form that doesn't exist.
If the invalid form name is a macro, ...
Truncated for typings sake.
Yes, I agree, the form doesn't exist. What confuses me so much is that all of the other forms, when I deleted them, also destroyed their VBA object as well. This one, no matter what, seems to like to stick around and I have no idea how to get rid of it.
How do I get rid of it?
Things I've tried:
Compact and Repair and the DB
Create a new form named what it's expecting, verify that it gets rid of the problem, and then delete that form.
You can try the /decompile switch
Make a backup of your mdb
Open your mdb (hold the SHIFT key down to stop any code from running) via a short
cut: msaccess.exe database.mdb /decompile
Open a module and compile your app
Save and close Access
Open again (SHIFT again) without decompile
Compact and repair database
close Access
I had similar problem. I found I had named the missing form in the STARTUP menu as the default form to open when starting Access. I opened Tools>Startup and deleted the missing forms name from the "Display/Form/Page" field of the Startup. My problem solved.
The problem I was having is that the form was named ~TMPCLP8151 and would not show up in Access no matter what I tried, but I could see it in VBA in the Project Explorer. Here's how I resolved the issue. I created a new form, and created an Event Procedure for Form_Open that contained this:
DoCmd.DeleteObject acForm, "~TMPCLP8151"
Then I just opened the form, and sure enough, the VB code deleted the form that I could not delete myself.
I had a same problem. I created a form with same name and deleted the form again. That fixed the peoblem. Try. BTW try to open the new form in design mode to make sure if the VBA module is assosiated with the new form.
I had to combine both solutions to achieve the goal.
First de- and recompile
next compact and repair
then create new form with the same name and delete it
Pay attention that the form has the status Hasmodule set to Yes
I had this problem. I renamed my default form from Form Login to frmLogin which suits my naming style, but the program was still looking for it on opening. I am using 2013 so I went to File » Options » CurrentDB and in the display dropdown select the new name. The old name remains in the list until you close and restart the application.
