Getting an error while writing a custom velocity macro - macros

When creating my own macro, and trying to add it so that anyone can use it, I get the following error:
Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page /templates/docdoesnotexist.vm
Wrapped Exception: Cannot start the Velocity engine
I do not change that file, but I do change xwiki/templates/macros.txt and /macros.vm by adding recentChanges=velocity:recentChanges: and #macro(recentChanges) respectively (yes, I do add working content after #macro(recentChanges))

That looks like a syntax error in macros.vm. You should revert to the original macros.vm and first try to write your custom macro in a wiki page. Once it works, you can move it to macros.vm and restart the server.
macros.txt shouldn't be edited, it's a legacy file used by the older WYSIWYG editor.

I’m getting below error while I try to execute a workflow on Powercenter

Transformation Parse Warning [<<P M Parse Warning>> <<Invalid constant sun-expression>> <<Expression Error>> [TO_DATE]:invalid string for converting to Date
… t:TO_DATE(s:s:”,s:s:’YYYYMMDD’)
……….
AND SATIS_TARIHI = >>>> TO_DATE($$RUN_DATE,’YYYYMMDD’)<<<<];
How can I solve this?
This is the first time I encounter this error. Normally, this is a daily routine for our job. The parameter is successfully added to the mapping and all the other things seem okay. I’d appreciate your help.
I tried to start the workflow and got this error.
You need to define a $$RUN_DATE in mapping. Currently its not defined in mapping or its null in parameter file.
You need to set a default value in mapping like 20221221 for today.
Or else you can set it up in a parameter file like this
[folder.workflow_name]
[folder.session_name]
$$RUN_DATE=20221221
Considering this is your daily routine and up till now it has been working fine, I assume this is not a new development and no recent changes have been made. Apparantly PowerCenter got an invalid value for the parameter.
Check you parameter file and how it gets generated.
Was the process of generating paramfile executed without issues?
Was there enough storage space?
Can you verify the paramfile contents?
Can you regenerate it?
Can you modify it and provide some value manually?
Feel free to get back with some updates for more help if your problem won't get resolved by checking the items on the list above.

Error handling in Sublime Text Plugin API

I'm creating my first sublime plugin to be used internally and was wondering if there's a way to stop the plugin from executing and display an error message on screen like an alert?
I took a look at view#show_popup() but this didn't render for me. Below is how I attempted to show it:
if "WebContent" in subdirectories:
directory = ROOT_DIR + "/WebContent"
elif "Content" in subdirectories:
directory = ROOT_DIR + "/Content"
else:
self.view.show_popup('Directory not found', location=-1)
Working Principle:
The plugin takes some data from one view and then pastes them in another view. The plugin has two TextCommands. One command takes the data from the first view, opens a new view and then executes the 2nd command on the new view. The above snippet is in the 2nd command.
I was unable to find any resources to help with show_popup() or any other error handling.
Does any one have possible ideas?
view.show_popup() is for showing things like hover popups next to the cursor; it's used for things like the built in functionality for going to references/definitions for functions:
While you could in theory use this for error messages, it may not be the sort of user experience that anyone would expect.
Your code above is technically valid, but since the content is expected to be minihtml it may be hard to see because as just a single string all you're going to see is just the text (i.e. you have no font style, padding, etc):
Perhaps more importantly, when location is -1, the popup appears at the point in the buffer closest to the first cursor position, so depending on your circumstance it may be appearing in a place you don't expect, and then vanishing away before you can scroll to see it, etc.
What you want here is sublime.error_message(); given a string, it will display that string in a dialog for the user to interact with, and it also logs the error into the Sublime console as well so that there's an additional trace.

How to add a custom library using add_block?

I created a custom library. This library contains only one subsytem block named RADAR. I am trying to use add_block and add this subsytem. Without any error the simulink file opens but the block does not appear.
This is how I load my library.
load_system('libdeneme');
And these are some of the code lines I tried.
add_block('simulink/libdeneme/RADAR','autoCreateDeneme')
add_block('simulink/libdeneme/RADAR','autoCreateDeneme')
add_block('libdeneme/RADAR','autoCreateDeneme')
add_block('libdeneme/RADAR',)
The source needs to be the library name then the name of the block in the library. Your first 2 lines don't work because your library is not the simulink library. But the source name in your last 2 attempts look right.
The destination needs to be the name of the model followed by the name to give the new block. Neither of your examples follow that format. (Surely the last example you give throws an error as it is invalid MATLAB syntax?)
You want something like
add_block('libdeneme/RADAR','nameOfModelToCopyTo/nameToGiveBlockInModel');

iTextSharp error, casting IncCell to Rectangle

I've been asked to look at C# code that's returning the following error:
Unable to cast object of type
'iTextSharp.text.html.simpleparser.IncCell' to type 'iTextSharp.text.Rectangle'.
at iTextSharp.text.pdf.PdfDocument.Add(IElement element)
at iTextSharp.text.Document.Add(IElement element)
It looks like they're using iTextSharp v5.0.2 and have not yet moved from HtmlWorker to XmlWorker.
Questions:
What is IncCell? I see it in the source docs but can't find any info about what it is - I'm assuming it's just for internal use.
Is this related to a cell in a table? A need for a Div or Paragraph within a cell?
What can they do to diagnose issues like this down to the HTML source that caused the error? I suspect this is an issue with not conforming to XHTML, but I can't verify that without knowing exactly what IElement that code was working on when it choked. It could be due to bad styling too, I have no idea at this time. Is there any kind of detail logging that will tell us what element is being processed at any given time? Should I just get them to load source and trace through it?
Is it probable that this will be fixed with an update to the latest version (currently 5.5.9), and a re-fit of XmlWorker?
Other recommendations?
Thanks!

Moodle local plugins and save_file

I've created a working form within a local plugin and it is inserting data fine into my custom table.
What I want tyo add now is a filepicker element that upon saving the form puts the file into a specified folder.
The filep[icker itself works fine but when I save the form no file appears, the code I'm using looks like this:
$mform->save_file('lowresCh', '/my_form/', false);
I've tried various things in the 'my_form' bit, but to no avail. The rest of the form still puts its data into the custom table and I can see my file in the mdl_files table (marked as draft).
With full debugging on I can get a warning of:
Warning: copy(/my_form/): failed to open stream: Is a directory in /...../lib/filestorage/stored_file.php on line 390
I don't know if I'm approaching it incorrectly or not, any help or pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated.
Oh and I have read the Using the File API in Moodle forms page, useful in getting me to the point I'm at, but no further.
I solved it by using the filename as the second argument in save_file() and if I prepend a directory then all of the files will be saved within my plugin in a sub directory which is perfect.
So it looks like this now:
$mform->save_file('lowresCh', 'files/'.$mform->get_new_filename('lowresCh'), false);
