My freshly installed Eclipse Indigo SR2 with the new Glassfish 3.1.2 Plugin creates on every start a new "Internal GlassFish 3.1.2" Server.
How can I prevent this behavior? Does somebody already use this configuration?
This bug has been recently fixed - here is the guide how to install the new fixed runtime plugin: https://blogs.oracle.com/piotrik/entry/bug_fix_for_eclipse_runtime
I've faced the same issue and my workaround is uninstall the "Glassfish 3.1.2 Application Server Runtime" from the Eclipse. Please make a full backup for our Eclipse first.
It can be done by the following step: -
Go to "Help" menu ---> "About Eclipse".
Click "Installation Details" button.
The system will display the "Eclipse Installation Details" windows.
Go to "Installed Software" tab.
Find the "Glassfish 3.1.2 Application Server Runtime" in the list and click it. Please note it is sorted alphabetically.
Click "Uninstall..." button
The "Uninstall" windows will display, please review and click the "Finish" button for uninstalling.
Edit: We need to start the Eclipse with "clean" option after it is uninstalled.
I download the Glassfish 3.1.2 Open Source Edition form here and install to my machine. Then register the new installed Glassfish 3.1.2 to the Eclipse.
Regarding to my opinion, I thought that it would be nice if I use the Glassfish out side the Eclipse plugin / workspace folder.

Go to Help > Install New Software...
Add the GlassFish Tools Update Site

as repository (or add the URL under Work with: directly) and install the tools via the wizard.
It is a bug in the new eclips. Try eclipse neon instead of your current eclipse and it will work
this will work for Eclips lastest version up to this point:
1-first go to : https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/webtools.glassfish-tools/downloads
2-Install Eclipse Sapphire: https://download.eclipse.org/sapphire/9.1.1/repository/
3-then go to : https://download.eclipse.org/glassfish-tools/1.0.1/repository/
4-copy URL link above.
5-open your eclips : go to help > install new software
6-paste the link that you copied in "Work with" text field and then press ENTER
7-then click on next and follow installation.( your need to restart your eclips after finishing installation )
8-enjoy buddy.

It seems to be working with Eclipse 2020-12.

Hope it can be of some help.
Go to Help-> Install New Software -> Add..
Add this URL to Location, http://download.eclipse.org/glassfish-tools/1.0.0/repository .
Add a Name and proceed
Eclipse GlassFish Tools is archived. The project become inactive and you can not use for new version of Eclipse IDE. You can you Payara Tools instead:
Payara Server is an open-source application server derived from GlassFish Server Open Source Edition, so you can use it for Glassfish as well.
Follow These steps:
Find Payara Tools in Eclipse Marketplace...
When create new server choose payara and in configuration of Payara location add Glassfish server location instead:
Has anyone had success getting EclEmma 2.3.2 installed in Eclipse Mars 4.5? I used the Eclipse Marketplace to install EclEmma, however, upon Eclipse restarting the EclEmma Coverage was not available via Run launch mode, toolbar, nor the Run menu as stated on the EclEmma installation page.
I've sometimes had problems with the marketplace. In those cases, I use the update site.
Follow directions for the Option 2. Update Site
From your Eclipse menu select Help → Install New Software...
In the Install dialog enter http://update.eclemma.org/ at the Work with field.
Check the latest EclEmma version and press Next
Follow the steps in the installation wizard.
I have installed Eclipse IDE for Java EE developers and installed the IBM Worklight Plugin successfully.
The icon for Worklight is being shown up in my Toolbar. Now when I click on Worklight Project and then Further on Hybrid Mobile App option, it doesn't work at all. It just stops and if I click any other option, it displays this message:
An error has occurred. See error log for more details.
com/worklight/studio/mobilemarketplace/plugin/handlers/TemplateHandler
What should I do?
Make sure you use either Eclipse Jave EE 64bit 4.2.2 ("Juno" SR2) or 4.3.1 ("Kepler" SR1). These are the Eclipse versions supported by Worklight.
Steps:
After extracting Eclipse, use it with a new workspace
Then install the Worklight Studio plug-in from Eclipse > Help > Eclipse Markpetplace
Once installed, click the Worklight icon from the toolbar
Provide a project name
Choose "Hybrid Application" > click Next
Provide an application name > click Finish
The above process successfully created a new Worklight project and application for me.
I just downloaded the Eclipse Java EE IDE (64-bit) for Ubuntu 10.04.4. I was trying to install some plug-ins by using Help --> Install New Software. But when I select any site in the consequently appearing dialog-box, the "Next" button is not enabled.
I tried un-installing and re-installing eclipse, getting the tar file of eclipse, even the classic IDE of eclipse, running eclipse as root and nothing seems to work.
Can somebody tell me what's wrong?
P.S. I am attaching a screenshot of the problem
It looks like the install dialog got squeshed vertically. There should be a big table of stuff to install. Try making the dialog bigger.
Click on already installed link and see if the plugin is already installed. Uninstall it -> Restart -> Repeat -> Next button should be enabled
I downloaded Eclipse Helios "BlackBerry JDE PluginFull 1.3". I installed it, and installation process terminated successfully. But Whenever I try to create a new BB project, i got the following message:
No BlackBerry JRE is installed. Please click "Configure JREs..." link to configure a BlackBerry JRE
When i click the "configure JREs" link, I find that the configuration contains JRE6, but still the dropdown of creating a new project can't detect the JRE ! I checked installed JREs in Eclipse, I found that JRE6 is installed and is checked to be used as default. So I added a new installed JRE files, from preferences window in Eclipse and I made it point to the JRE6 installed in File System. Finally I tried to create a new project with this new created JRE, still the problem exists !
I searched online for the issue, and I found many users say to update from help menu using http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.6/java
I used it and I chose Blackberry Java SDK 5.0 , after installation successfully process this didn't solve the issue
Any suggestions or advises ?
Here is the solution: Simply, RESTART THE MACHINE !
