How can I install the MercurialEclipse Plugin? - eclipse

I'm new to java and installing plugins.
I have found the link to the plugin I'd like to install (it's called MercurialEclipse) but what a mess is that, it seems too complicated. I need simple guide. Could you please help?

Installing a plugins on Eclipse it is easy as putting the plugin jar file into the dropins folder of your eclipse installation, but in your case to install the HG plugin you can use the update manager, put the update site : http://cbes.javaforge.com/update into your eclipse update manager .
Go to : Help ---> Install New Software ... ---> Add
then you can add the update site in this way :
After that you have added the update site you can install the plugin selecting it, and going ahead with the step-by-step installation wizard ...

Install Eclipse plugin from outside Marketplace

My Eclipse Marketplace/Install New Software links are not working. Is there any other way to install a plugin in Eclipse? Can you please tell me where I can download a plugin independently and install in Eclipse manually?
Thanks in advance!
You can install a plugin from an archive.
In install new software
Click on Add
Under Location Click Archive
Another simpler way: Some plugins have an Install button on the Marketplace website (e.g. this) which you can simply drag & drop to Eclipse.
If you just have a plugin rather than an install package (also known as an update site) then copy the plugin to the dropins folder in the Eclipse install and restart Eclipse.

Install android adt in eclipse

I am trying to install android in eclipse to develop apps on my ubuntu setup.
I get the following error though:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Android Development Tools 20.0.0.v201206242043-391819
(com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.feature.group 20.0.0.v201206242043-391819)
Missing requirement: Android Development Tools 20.0.0.v201206242043-391819
Any ideas as to what the problem is? I have tried using the url and download the zip manually in eclipse under add new software.
I had something similar. If you need the ADT version 20.0.0 then install it manually (from a ZIP archive) as described here and download it from here: http://dl.google.com/android/ADT-20.0.0.zip
Good luck
During installation, there's an error about requiring org.eclipse.wst.sse.ui. How do I fix that?
The Google Plugin for Eclipse depends on other specific Eclipse components, such as WST. Your installation of Eclipse may not yet include all of them, but they can be easily installed by following these instructions. Eclipse 3.6 (Helios)
Select Help > Install New Software...
Click the link for Available Software Sites.
Ensure there is an update site named Juno. If this is not present, click Add... and enter http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno for the Location.
Now go through the installation steps; Eclipse should download and install the plugin's dependencies.
Filter for wst and install all those. Restart Eclipse and then you can install the adt plugins.
Intsalling Android ADB on Eclipse JUNO Windows7PRO.
These steps worked for me:
1- go to "help" - "install new software"
2- inserert a new path called AndroidADT https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
3- check the box "Contact all update sites during install to find required software".
4- select all the 6 android components
5- download, restar eclipse, update the adt then... enjoy!!!
Try this:
When installing ADT through Eclipse just make sure you have checked: Contact all update sites during install to find required software. That helped me.
Also try to update eclipse (Help -> Check for updates)
Solution is: check the contact all update sites ...

Eclipse Plugin Development install dependencies if not installed yet

Hey guys,
I'm developing a plugin for eclipse and I need some dependencies, e.g. org.eclipse.graphiti.
When I export my plugin and when I build my update site, everthing works fine, until i try to install my plugin, because then the install wizard says I don't have graphiti installed. How can I tell my wizard to ask if you want to install the needed plugin automatically?
Thanks for any help and ideas.
During install select the 'Contact all available update sites' checkbox in the lower part of the feature selection dialog. This allows searching all existing update sites. This might help, or if not, then add the Graphiti update site your feature.xml.

Eclipse Java EE - Galileo - Unable to view plugins

I am new to Eclipse so I am having a hard time troubleshooting this problem. I have a new installation of Eclipse Java EE - Galileo on Windows, and I am unable to see any changes made in the IDE after installing plugins. I have verified that the plugins are installed via installation details, but see no changes made.
For example, after installing the maven integration plugin m2eclipse I go to File->New->Project ... and I have no option for maven. After installing the QuickRex plugin I have no view for it etc.
I have tried re-installing the plugins, re-installing Eclipse, and starting Eclipse with the -clean option, but nothing has resolved the issue.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Ok. This is just a wild guess but could you start over with a fresh install and make sure that you uncheck the option Contact all update sites during install to find required software as shown below:

I faced a similar problem (on another platform than yours), some updates were "disabling" all my plugins. Not checking this option allowed me to work around this issue.
Follow-up: You'll need to install that Zest stuff manually from the GEF update site:

How to install a custom plug-in in Eclipse Ganymede?

We have a custom plug-in. That is, the company where I'm working developed it in house.
I would like to install it as an available plug-in in Eclipse Ganymede. How do I do that?
From what I can figure out, the Eclipse software install only supports installation from Eclipse software update sites.
I went to Help -> Install New Software... -> Add -> Local...
to browse to a folder containing the plug-in. Although the dialog lets me add the directory as an update site, it doesn't work. It expects that directory to be a local Eclipse update site (I think). I get the error
No repository found at file:/G:/TOOLS/...
Next I just copied the plug-in into the plug-in directory under my Eclipse installation. That didn't work either. I also tried copying it into the dropins directory. No dice.
Can anyone enlighten me how to install a plug-in that's not on an "update" site?
Thanks in advance....
Usually an Eclipse plug-in packaged as zip file is install by extracting it into the Eclipse installation directory (or the plugins directory depending on how it is packaged, as it can also extract files in features directory).
Next restart Eclipse with the --clean option.
Did you check the Eclipse error log? Maybe the bundle is failing to deploy for some reason.
Otherwise, create a Feature and Update Site for your plugin as described here. An update site can either be a remote http server (SVN even), or a local directory. The nice thing is that you'll get versioning and the ability to upgrade and uninstall from inside Eclipse. It also makes things easier once your plugin grows into several plugins because they can be bundled together into a single, versioned feature.
