How do I change "Version Release Control" after submitting an app to the Apple app store - iphone

I just submitted a new version of our app to the Apple app store, but I had previously turned on "Version Release Control" so the app will now wait for me to initiate distribution to the iTunes App Store after it has (hopefully) been approved.
I would like to change this so that it just gets automatically sent to the App store after approval. How can I do that?
Julian

As far as I know you can't. You must wait for the app to be accepted or reject your build and change it (starting all over in the wait list...)

submit a new version before the earlier version is released iphone

I have submitted my iPhone app for release few weeks back, and it get approved and waiting my approval for release. but now I have another version which I want to submit and dont want to release the old one which is approved already.
it looks like there is no option to take care of such situation on iTunes connect.
any one have any idea?
tanx
On iTunes connect, select your app, and under pricing you can set the release date in the future. Then submit a new binary, and when it's approved, set the release date to the day the new version is approved.

Unknown App when confirming in-app purchase

I have created a newsstand app and have everything working. The only issues I have now are:
When I click 'subscribe' and the dialogue box pops up to confirm the in app purchase it says
Confirm Subscription
Do you want subscribe to Unknown App for free?
[Environment: Sandbox]
Why does it say Unknown App? Everything else works (receipt validation, completing the transaction & co.)
Also, will the [Environment: Sandbox] go away automatically once I upload it to the app store and download it for real? Is there something in my code that I am missing that sends the in app purchase request to the sandbox? Or is it just because i am using a test device that has the app compiled onto it from XCode.
If your app is not in app store, it shows you the [Environment: Sandbox]. It will automatically go away once you uploaded app and your app is in app store.
For "Unknown App":
You need to add text in inApp purchase section in iTunes connect. If you haven't done that it will show you "Unknown App" on message which comes on iOS pop-up.When you activate in-app purchase by filling all information in inApp purchase section, pop-up will not show you "Unknown App", rather the pop-up will mention your app name.
Hope this will help you.
If your app is not in app store, it shows you the [Environment: Sandbox]. it will automatically will go away once you uploaded and your app is in app store.
If your binary has been rejected by Apple, the IAP products submitted with it should also show up as rejected. When you try and purchase a rejected IAP within the app, the confirmation screen will show the aforementioned "Do you want to buy one Unknown App...".
To correct this you should be able to make a small change to each IAP product in iTunes Connect. Then simply change it back, then the rejected flag should go away (and be replaced by waiting for review. For example, I added an 's' to the Display Name for the English language of each product. Then went right back in and removed the 's'.
This may not be acceptable to Apple if the reason for your rejection centers around your use of In-App Purchases.
I suggest to check your itunesconnect account.
Goto your Specific App "NewStandApp" .-> Manage InAppPurchases. Now check Reference Name you have Added with your ProductID.
Product_Id your are referring in project/app (sandbox environment) might be connected with app name "Unknown app"

can we reject app after getting apple approval?

i have uploaded new binary as a new version of my application and at the time of uploading binary, i select the option that "I Will Release this version" means i just put it in "Hold for Developer Release".
Suppose my application is approved by apple and i dont want to release that version then what i have to do.is it possible to reject that binary or remove that version from iTunes connect?
From itunes connect guide
NOTE: You can only use the Version Release Control on app updates. It is not available for the first version of your app since you already have the ability to control when your first version goes live, using the Availability Date setting within Rights and Pricing. If you decide that you do not want to ever release a Pending Developer Release version, you can reject your binary to submit a new one.
You are not permitted to skip over an entire version
From this, we can remove that option from our application at any version upload. but can we reject after application is approved by apple?
Yes you can reject it!
Click on your "New version" > "Binary Details" > "Reject Binary"
To reject a approved release, select the approved release in iTunesConnect and at the top of the profile is a link "Cancel this release"
Paras, once you submit a new binary, it goes to the end of the queue for review!
I see a few possible cases related with your question:
You have no app yet, you submitted an app and waiting for review. Assume that you found a problem with the submitted app, and you wanted to provide a new one. Just submit the new binary, but remember, it will replace the original submission, it will go to the end of the queue and it will wait for review as before.
You have an app on the AppStore, and you wanted to provide an update for the app. As usual, submit your app, and wait to be notified. Once it is approved, your new app will be available to your users.
You have an app on the AppStore, you want to remove it from sales immediately, and provide an update: In this case, you can go to Manage Your Apps in your iTunes Connect, select the app and click on Rights and Pricing then choose an Availability Date in the future.
You get a warning message as following:
"You have selected an Available Date in the future. This will remove your currently live version from the App Store until the new date. Changing Available Date affects all versions of the application, both Ready For Sale and In Review."
That is fine, your app still in the store but not be in the sales. Now you provide your update and wait for the approval, once you get it, go ahead and set your app's availability date accordingly!
I hope that answers your question, and good luck on the mobile apps :)
Read what they say. The answer is right in front of you :)
'If you decide that you do not want to ever release a Pending
Developer Release version, you can reject your binary to submit a new one'
You can remove your app from the AppStore any time you want.
For that, simply go to itunesconnect.apple.com and on the "Manage your Application", choose the "Rights & Pricing" button then click on the "specific stores" link.
From there you can select in which stores your app will be in sale. You can then deselect all the countries so that your app won't be visible in any store.
From the iTunes Connect portal:
Select the App Stores where your app will be sold. Note that if you deselect all territories, your app will be removed from sale in all App Stores worldwide.
Bit of an update.
If you have an app with Developer Release and
The app has been approved then
The Web iTunes Connect does not provide any method to reject the binary, only a release button.
There is however a Reject Binary option still available on the iPhone iTunesConnect App.
So if you find yourself with this issue
Start the iTunesConnect App
Select the manage option
Tap on your apps pending version release
Select the 'Reject Binary' button
Hope that helps.
I was not an admin but an app manager in App Store Connect. I did not have permission to remove the app but I was able to withdraw from the sale in order to pull back acceptance.
Pricing and Availability -> Availability -> Remove from sale
It appears that you can not reject a app after it is approved by Apple. One possible sequence is to release the approved version for sale in only some tiny country for an hour, then remove it from sale and submit a new update.

Upload App Update to Itunes Connect prior to Approval

I submitted an app to itunes connect, and wouldn't you know it the next day found a bug.
So I fixed the bug and now have rebuilt and am trying to upload the App, but I see no way to upload a newer version of the app in itunes connect.
Attempting to just upload the archive says something along the lines of no matching app found on itunesconnect.
Attempting to create a new app on itunesconnect is not an option either, since my app signing cert is associated with the pending app... So I can't create a new entry. Well I could but would have to create a whole new app cert etc.. which is silly.
So, can I update the exist APP prior to it being approved? If so how? Or is my only option to delete the pending app, and recreate the entire record?
Thanks in advance.
You can reject the binary that you've submitted. Note, this will reset your place in the review queue. From the iTunesConnect developer guide (click "Rejecting Your Binary"):
Rejecting Your Binary
You can reject the binary you have submitted if its status is any of
the following: Missing Screenshot (iOS only), Waiting for Export
Compliance, Waiting For Review, In Review, Pending Developer Release,
or Pending Apple Release. Click the Reject Binary button on the Binary
Details page. This action removes your binary from the review queue.
You can then submit another update through Application Loader after
you move your app back to the Waiting For Upload state in iTunes
Connect. If you reject your binary, your app’s status changes to
Developer Rejected. When you resubmit your binary, the review process
starts over from the beginning.
Hope this helps,

iPhone app activated before associated in-app-purchase activated?

I recently submitted my iPhone app for review. I also approved the in-app-purchase for my app (and provided the in-app-purchase screenshot). It's a few days later and the app status has been updated from "waiting for review" to "in review"... while the in-app-purchase status is still "waiting for review". Could the app go live in the store before the in-app-purchase? If so what happens when the user tries to make the in-app-purchase? Anything the developer can do to remedy this?
Set the app availability date to a time in the future, then when the in-app purchase is accepted, set both dates to the present.
You should also uncheck the "Cleared for Sale" checkbox in the In-App Purchase page in iTunes Connect. This means the IAP won't go on sale (even after being approved) until you decide it should.
You should have a check in your app to see if an IAP is actually available, and only display it if it was found in the App Store.
The same thing happened to us on one of our submissions. The Apple reviewers wanted to see our in-app-purchase experience before they approved the app. So in the course of the review they made sure the in-app-purchase was up to par, and approved them both at the same time.
I'm not sure if this is the standard among app reviews, so I'd play it safe and go with #nevan's suggestion as well, because if the app goes through without the in-app purchase items enabled, the purchases will fail.
