TYPO3 tt_news : No code given - typo3

I just inherited this TYPO3 project and have a bunch of tasks to perform with it (adding this here, and that there, etc.) and I'm at the task "Add news to the front page" and "Add a RSS feed to the site"
Well, the tt_news extension is installed and I have created 1 test news. Now I added a page content plugin of type "News" and configured it from the best of my knowledge, following the outdated manual provided with the extension, saved the page, cleared the cache and refreshed the frontend page to see this :
...What does it mean and how do I make the extension work?

Edit the content element containing tt_news extension and at the Plugin tab in select field What to display choose default view ie: Standard list view (LIST)
Also:
make sure that in Content Element's settings you choose correct
folder with tt_news records in field Other settings > Page(s)
with tt_news records
tt_news records are created by default with Hidden flag set to true, make sure that the checkbox is unchecked. (BTW this behaviour can be changed with TCAdefaults.tt_news.hidden=0 in PageTS or UserTS)

TYPO3 v9.5 no URL Segment [slug] field visible in Page Edit

After upgrading from Typo3v9 to v9.5, I still do not see the URL Segment [slug] field .
The field has been added to the "pages" table under the column/field "slug" and also been populated, but the field is not visible in the BE and the links not updated.
Is there documentation/configuration I am missing?
You need to add a Site Configuration for your page tree in the new Sites module of the TYPO3 backend.
Only then the new slug field becomes visible in backend forms and the URL segments get used in the frontend instead of the old default index.php?id=1 links.

Blog-like single element pages with TYPO3 / TemplaVoila

I have a blog-like part of an page using TYPO3 / TemplaVoila. There are articles that should show up summarized on a single page, but have their own pages / URLs each one too.
However, having the editors add a page AND a flexible content element for each entry is complicated.
So is it possible by some typoscript to have a page, showing a single content element from some other page, sporting a proper URL without having to setup an extra page for each element?
What you want is doable without TV and with other records than tt_content.
e.g.: ext:news does it: the content are news records, which are shown with plugins in list- and detail-mode.
Of course you can reinvent the complete logic of such an extension so you can do it with tt_content records, which could be stored in the usual way scattered on multiple pages.
But the logic is clearer if there only is one page (or very few pages which represent some categorization) where special records are stored.
Plugins would be configured to show only selected records (from one category, which are marked top, which are current, ...) and you have one page (one for all and not for each news one) where the records are shown in detail.
Also each has it's own URL, either with URL-parameter (by default) or you configure realurl (or similar) to build a "real url" from news title (and uid).

news: wrong link to detail page, ok after clearing fe cache

I use tx_news 4.3.0 with TYPO3 7.6.12 and realurl 2.0.15
From time to time i get detail links which show to a wrong detail page.
e.g.
veranstaltungen/talks/detail/xy-talks/
shows to another detail page:
veranstaltungen/talks/detail/z-talks/
after clearing the fe cache the link ist ok.
how to avoid this?
I got the same problem some time ago.
I use for many TYPO3 system a single page for news list and detail.
I wanted to have URLs like example.com/news/ für list view and example.com/news/this-is-a-news/ as detail URL.
To archive this, I configured realurl to skip controller and action for news links. But in the link configuration inside the news template, they were used to build the link.
Since realurl does not create a new cHash for a link (since Version 2.0.12 I think), the link generated by realurl does not match the cHash that was generated in TYPO3 and cached by realurl. So TYPO3 provides a wrong cached version of this page. I my case, it was the first news entry, that were called and cached. This news entry got displayed every time I clicked on a news.
To avoid this, I removed the controller and action skipping from realurl and add some TypoScript (link.skipControllerAndAction = 1) to my news configuration.
I think you might have a similar issue. Try to disable realurl in a dev environment and try if this happens again. When this fixes your problem, check your realurl configuration for news.

TYPO3 news plugin read whole news not working

I'm using TYPO3 7.6.4 with the news plugin
Now I've got the problem that the link to the news artikle is not working
thats the link typo3 generates:
When I click the link the detailed page is not loaded ... what could be the problem?
In general you need to create 3 pages:
A sysfolder which contains the records
A page withe plugin and select the "list view". In tab Additional and field **PageId for single news display* choose page number 3
A page with the plugin and select the "detail view".

How to hide "User Information" options from "My Account" in Liferay 6.1?

I am trying to hide some options in "User Information" from My Account by using hook. I just want to hide it using CSS (style="display:none"). User Information is present in the right side of My Account Page.
I want to know, in which page I should make changes? While creating hook which page I should select for hiding those links like "Organizations, Sites, etc." Please help...
You have to choose the tab you want by writing them in the portal-ext.properties as follow :
#
# Input a list of sections that will be included as part of the user form
# when updating a user in the My Account portlet.
users.form.my.account.main=details,password,organizations,sites,user-groups,roles,personal-site,categorization
users.form.my.account.identification=addresses,phone-numbers,additional-email-addresses,websites,instant-messenger,social-network,sms,open-id
users.form.my.account.miscellaneous=announcements,display-settings,comments,custom-fields
Each field will be linked to its jsp. For exemple, "details" will display details.jsp.
Since your problem is finding the jsp file, you should do these :
download the Liferay source, and add the portal-trunk as a Liferay Project in Eclipse
Navigate through the portal to your desired file (manage my account), and get the url from your browser
Search for the "struts_action" attribute in the usl. For this case, it's "/my_sites/view"
This is very helpful as the first parameter indicates the portlet that controls the jsp page.
The second parameter usually is the jsp you are searching for
Find that file in the portal trunk and search for the html component you want to edit. it might be in the page itself, or it could be on an included one, or a sibling one (provided as a tab)
For your case, it's "/portal-trunk/portal-web/docroot/html/portlet/users_admin/edit_user.jsp"
It is not possible to remove those options using CSS. We can do the following simple java code for removing those tabs... The page which we need to edit is "/portal-trunk/portal-web/docroot/html/portlet/users_admin/edit_user.jsp".
List<String> identificationList = new ArrayList<String>();
for(String identificationItem : identificationSections){
identificationList.add(identificationItem);
System.out.println(identificationItem);
}
identificationList.remove("websites");
identificationList.remove("instant-messenger");
identificationList.remove("social-network");
identificationList.remove("sms");
identificationList.remove("open-id");
identificationSections = new String[identificationList.size()];
for(int i = 0; i < identificationList.size(); i++){
identificationSections[i] =identificationList.get(i);
}
Its easy to hide those links by using the simple java code written above.
