Are there laptops / wireless cards that I can purchase to allow my laptop use Wifi-direct to communicate with my smartphone? Say, to transfer files between them? I have seen phones that support that technology but not computer components yet.
You can use the list of certified products on the Wi-Fi Alliance website :
Laptops
External adapters
Internal adapters
For another type of product use the search engine and tick the Wi-fi Direct checkbox at the bottom.

I would like to be able to display my Nagios dashboard on our group computer when the screen is locked. Ideally we could just load Firefox or Opera into kiosk mode with a screen locker but after two days of struggling I have not been able to get this too work. We are using CentOS 6.3 with Gnome.
How do I get a screensaver to show a web page or rotate over a list of web pages.
Thank you.

I know this is only possible with private API, this is for a jailbreak tweak NOT the AppStore
I am trying to toggle the cellular data option of the iPhone. I have found APIs for Bluetooth, Airplane mode, wifi and GPS, but not for 3G or cellular data.
Where can the API for 3G and cellular be found?

Is it possible to install apps from Xcode to device without the USB cable? In Xcode I found this option in the preferences window:
I've seen that same setting, but from what I have read and seen, it isn't a fully complete feature. I have not been able to get it working at all.
If you are interested in installations without wires, I would consider using TestFlight. It is a fantastic tool for developers. Great for beta testing and wireless installation. Good luck.

Looks like my shared hosting plan does not cover running a Jabber server. Does anyone know of any free or very cheap solutions for doing this?
Google Apps for Domains provides XMPP support.
Dreamhost will host a Jabber server for you on their cheap web hosting plans. Although I had a bit of a falling-out with Dreamhost over a policy of theirs that penalized me for registering a domain that I later wanted to transfer to a friend of mine who was also hosted on Dreamhost.
