We have had a web form on our site for a long time and the results were posted to an ASP page which emailed us the results. Recently we signed up with SalesForce and wanted to use the functionality to submit this data directly to SalesForce. I was able to successfully set this up by posting directly to their URL, but I would still also like to be able to receive an email copy of the data being submitted, just in case there are ever some issues with SalesForce and the data does not make it to the SalesForce system - we would have a backup.
Is there a way I can accomplish this in a simple manner? I am not much of a programmer but can understand a good amount of classic asp.
Well, it seems logical to me that you keep your old posting to the ASP page and afterward do the post to SalesForce (or vice versa). like that both emails are sent. To me this way of working seems like a way round, you could just as well send emails from your form. If you publish that form and ASP page we could take a look at it.

I am doing a proof of concept to find a way to make callouts from Apex code to send automated Whatsapp messages/communications from Salesforce to our customers at difference points of time in Sales life cycle (ex: one at lead conversion, one when a payment is received etc).
My assumption here is to send these messages via triggers. Only thing is i am not able to figure out the correct approach to start with. I did see an example online which is using middleware apps like twilio, weboxapp to convey the messages to Whatsapp servers. Is there a way these communications could be sent directly? Any leads are appreciated!
There appears to be a fairly new integration set up between Salesforce and WhatsApp. There's a good write up in the first link below, and then documentation from Salesforce in the 2nd link. I'd start by looking through there because it might help solve your requirements much more easily. I believe that Whatsapp's APIs are private and need to be accessed through an approved partner.

I'm new in Ember and right now I'm developping a website that uses Django+TastyPie+Ember. It wasn't until receantly that I had to deal with data getting back to the server, and I feel that I still don't see the full picture here.
Without having user accounts yet, I was wondering what was the "recommended" way of implement a form to to register to a newsletter, where someone introduces their email and it's saved, for instance, into the database.
I am guessing there is no support for this, but need to confirm for a client.
I am using send_flow from the API. Is it possible to:
In any way add recipients to an existing Email Collector? The reason is that automating surveys creates quite a few collectors if done daily or more frequently.
Is it possible to send in HTML in email_message.body_text programmatically? It does state plain text in the documentation, and it does not get converted and shows up in the email as plain text. If I use the same HTML-code in an Email Collector created in the SurveyMonkey-website, it works fine, but then again I have no way of using an existing collector it seems, as in question 1.
Continuing from question 2, if we can't send in HTML programmatically, is there a way to change the default email template? The API states "Default template is used if this [body_text] is not specified", but I can't see any option of customizing this in our client-accounts.
Have also considered using a Web Link Collector and send emails outside of SurveyMonkey. The challenge with that seems to be:
Can't register [CustomData] with the responses, which is vital for the analysis, without adding potentially large dropdowns inside the survey itself.
The Survey URL is not unique in terms of forwarding it, although this can be an acceptable risk.
Thanks a lot, any ideas or feedback is appreciated.
Thanks to Tony at SurveyMonkey this was solved by him pointing to Custom Variables in the Platinum version, then adding these to a Web Link Collector and sending the HTML email from our integrating application.
http://help.surveymonkey.com/articles/en_US/kb/What-are-custom-variables-and-how-do-I-use-them
The problem with web link collector is that there is no way to track response rate since SurveyMonkey doesn't know how many links were sent out. I don't know a way around this.
What applications exist that can take a series of fields from my db (or csv output from my db) and insert them into a web-based form and then submit that form?
Big Picture Use Case:
I maintain an in-house registration management system for webinars that we produce/present. Currently we use GoToWebinar.com to host our events but they haven't always been (and may not always continue to be) our vendor.
GoToWebinars.com does not provide me an API for creating registrations for 3rd party individuals. So when someone decides to attend one of our events they have to fill out 2 registrations forms, mine and GoToWebinars.com. I'd like to automate the task of filling in GoToWebinar's registration form.
I am looking into the same thing. I found some bits and pieces here and there and was able to decipher the URL to post to GTW:
https://www.gotowebinar.com/en_US/island/webinar/registration.flow?Template=island/webinar/registration.tmpl&Form=webinarRegistrationForm&WebinarKey=XXX_YOUR_WEBINAR_ID_XXX&Name_First=ViewersFirstName&Name_Last=ViewersLastName&Email=ViewersEmailAddress
If you are using cURL, then be sure to use CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION because there are some redirections on the GTW side and cURL needs to follow them.
So far this seems to work for us.
Good luck!
I'm late to the party, but let me offer a way to call the CITRIX API via PHP to register a new GotoWebinar attendee, in case somebody else hits this page looking for the answer to your question.
I have a niche website that needs to allow users to post events and other things to the website. Wordpress works perfectly for this option (as well as other needs). The problem is, there is also a weekly newsletter (published as a PDF file) that gets sent to a large opt-in email list. Is there any way to configure Wordpress (via plugin or hack) to send the CONTENTS of the post to the admin in a csv or rtf file of some sort? The posts themselves will have several custom fields. Most of the stuff I churn up when I search for "post to email" for Wordpress is the other way around, for people wanting to send an email and have that post to their site, which is not what I want to do. I suppose other ideas of getting around my problem are open to consideration too. Thanks!!
One way I am thinking you could accomplish this but haven't tested it. You could make a php script to parse the rss feed and email that contents. Depending on whether how many posts get done in a week, you could either create a function for it to fire after the post is posted; or have a cron job on it and send it once a week before the newsletter is to be sent. Sorry I'm not in front of my machine that has WP installed to test it out.
