Zend: Form Validation After AJAX - zend-framework

I have a form done with Zend. I load it with ajax in a dialog. It has 2 selects. Depending on what is selected in the first select, it loads the content of the second one. However, when I submit the form I get a validation error because the options of the second form weren't there at the time of creating it.
Is there a way to fix this "issue"? It does what it needs to do but I don't want it to verify that field anymore. Any way to specify that I don't want that?

You can disable the inArray validator. When constructing the form's select element, set
'registerInArrayValidator' => false
Also, a different solution would be to overload the isValid method, inspect the selected option for the first select element and then populate the options for the second element. Then call parent::isValid to check if the form is in fact valid or not.

Angular 2 - Dynamic Reactive form with Radio Inputs build with FormBuilder, FormGroup, FormArray

Case:
I have an array of answers which I want to show in the view as radio inputs. When one of the answers is already answered it must be [checked] and if it's [checked] a textarea shows, so far so good.
Next I want to check another radio input and I want the current selected to be deselected and its textarea hidden, then the new selected radio input should be [checked] and it's textarea should show.
I use the FormBuilder and FormArray and have following issues.
I can't use index without intrapolation, I see many examples where the index is used without.
If I select another radio input, first my data disappears and it's not checked and on the second click it get's checked but now both are checked.
- I don't have access to the checked event, I can show it in the view with {{tempVar.checked}} as you can see above, if I use a template variable #tempVar, but I don't have access to it in the textarea below *ngIf="tempVar.checked". If I do use it in the ngIf I get the following error
Expression has changed after it was checked. Previous value: 'false'. Current value: 'true'.
Questions:
Is this the right approach?

I would think using the tags should be reserved for unique identifiers? I wouldn't be surprised if dom renderer will update all elements with the same id.
Not sure if this will help, but you could use an answer view model instead (containing the same data) but that also has a 'checked' property
This way you can be sure that it will behave as you would expect.
e.g.: (in your component.ts)
let answers = this.question.Question.PossibleAnswers
.map(a =>
{ return Object.assign({}, a, { checked: false });
}
);
then in html you use: 'answer.checked' instead of 'radio.checked'
ps: also you could use ng-container instead of span, so you don't have an extra DOM imprint in your html

Remove "empty" selection from dropdown list box

When creating a form in Orbeon Form Builder, you can define a list of values for a dropdown list box.
When running the form in form runner, is it possible to remove the "[Select...]" value from this dropdown list box?
I would like to restrict the possible values only to the given ones and restricting the user from selecting an "[Select...]" value when filling in the form. I hope you understand what I mean :)
Here is a screenshot
It's not possible without changes to Orbeon Forms to remove the empty option.
The best way to achieve what you want is to make the field required. When that's the case, the user will have to select a value or validation won't pass.
(The rationale for adding/keeping an empty option at the top is to force the user to make a selection. Otherwise it is possible that users might not even look at the option selected by default, and involuntarily select an incorrect option.)

Adding a confirmation form before the add form of a content type

One of our customers wants to add a terms of service page that has to be shown every time a user adds some specific content type, before the add form.
Any suggestions on how to implement this?
If it's a Dexterity content type, you can do this:
Create a custom form with your terms of service. In the form's button handler, redirect to the add form:
self.request.response.redirect(self.context.absolute_url() + '/++add++name.of.content.type')
Now in your type's factory info in portal_types, set the add_view_expr like this:
<property name="add_view_expr">string:${folder_url}/##terms-of-service</property>
so it goes to the custom TOS form when you click the type in the factory menu, instead of directly to the add form.
(Note: a downside of this approach is that if the user enters the URL of the add form directly, they can bypass the TOS form.)
A possible solution could be to use a cookie/session_data_manager/token/you-name-it that on the custom AddForm for that content type checks if exists.
If it doesn't redirect to that Terms of Service form that redirects back to the Addform where, now it will accept to proceed becuase the cookie/session_data_manager/token/you-name-it will be there.
An idea: when you are adding new content types (AT based content types, this will not work for Dexterity ones) you are calling
http://something/createObject?type_name=Document
You can transform the createObject script into an view that display you disclaimer form, with validation on submit.
When user accept the disclaimer you will redirect the use to something like
http://plone4.gest.unipd.it:8080/gest/it/realCreateObject?type_name=Document
where realCreateObject is a copy/paste of the original Plone createObject script.
However: the suggestion of Mathias above is really good: just add a fake checkbox field with a validation.
As mentioned in the comment of the question. I would advise adding a checkbox to the content.
For AT content you can add a BooleanField
...
atapi.BooleanField(
name='acceptConditions',
schemata='default',
required=False,
default=False,
validators=('acceptConditions', ),
widget=atapi.BooleanWidget(
label=_(u'label_accept_conditions', default='Conditions'),
description=_(
u'help_accept_conditions',
default='Please accept the <a target="_blank" '
'href="./conditions_view">'
'conditions<a/>.')
),
)
...
With a condition on the widget (In this case a browser view, which checks if the boolean field should be visible or not).
YourSchema['acceptConditions'].widget.setCondition(
'python: here.restrictedTraverse("##show_condition_field").show()')

ExtJS 4 - How to load grid store with its params carrying latest values from a form?

I have a window with a search form at the top and grid at the bottom.
User can enter values in the search form and click button - Get Records.
At the click of this button, I load the store of the grid by passing the values in form fields as parameters in following way:
store.load({
params:{
key1:Ext.getCmp('field1').getValue();
}
});
I tried giving parameters in the store proxy itself, but it unfortunately always takes up initial values (values when the form is rendered) and not the latest one entered by the users in the form fields. Following is the method I used for assigning values to params while creating the store:
extraParams:{
key1:Ext.getCmp('field1').getValue();
}
I wanted to seek guidance at two things:
a. While defining a store, can I ensure that store takes latest/current values from the form fields before querying server, so that I don't have to provide these values while calling load function?
This becomes more necessary as I have a paging toolbar at the bottom which carries a refresh button (along with next, last, previous, first icons for navigation).
Now, whenever user clicks at refresh (or any navigation icon), the store gets loaded without the query parameters.
Thus the second thing is:
b. If the answer of 'a' is that - Pass the latest values to parameters manually when calling load function - then how can I write the handler for 'refresh' button and navigation icons (that is, next, last, previous and first) in the paging toolbar, so that I can pass the latest form values to load function.
Thanks for any help in advance.
PS: I am using ExtJS 4.
yourStore.on('beforeload',function(store, operation,eOpts){
operation.params={
status:cmbStatus.getValue(),
value:txtBuscarPor.getValue(),
empresa:'saasd',
app:'dsads'
};
},this);
Related to your question (b) (and because you especially asked for this in the comments section):
I see only one standard way to hook into the PagingToolbar button handlers which is very limited.
Ext.toolbar.Paging fires a 'beforechange' event before it actually changes the current page. See API docs. A listener that returns false will stop the page change.
All other methods require extending Ext classes which wouldn't be a problem if the ComboBox would make it easier to use your own implementation of BoundList (which is the class that renders the dropdown) or pass through config parameters to BoundList resp. the paging toolbar.
I tried to bring this lack of flexibility up on the Ext message board once but was pretty much ignored.
A possible solution for this is to use 'beforeload' event of the store and provide the list of parameters in it. This way, whenever the store is loaded, then its beforeload event is fired and the values picked up are always the latest. Hope this helps someone looking for something similar.

MVC Html.textbox/dropdown/whatever won't refresh on postback

OK, let's start with the Html.Textbox. It is supposed to contain text read from a file. The file read is based on what the user picks from a dropdown list.
The first time it is fine. The user picks a value from the dropdown list. The controller uses that value to read some text from a file, and returns that text to the view via the view model. Everything is fine.
THen the user picks another value from the dropdown list. The controller reads a new value from a file and returns it via the view model. Debugging to the LINE BEFORE THE HTML.TEXTBOX is set in the view shows that the model contains the correct value. However, the textbox itself still shows the PREVIOUS value when the page displays!
If I switch from Html.Textbox to a plain input, type="text" html control, everything works fine. That's not so hard, but the same thing happens with my dropdown list -- I can't set the selected value in code. It always reverts to whatever was chosen last. Rendering a "select" tag with a dynamically-generated option list is a pain. I would love to be able to use Html.Dropdown.
What am I missing here?? This is such a simple thing in webforms!
When you post a form, the values that are posted are put into ModelState. When the HtmlHelper renders an html iunput element, e.g. Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.FirstName), it'll search various locations to get the value for the textbox... ModelState is before ViewData.Model in the list of locations. So there for, the previously posted value will appear in your textbox.
To fix this you could clear the ModelState value or update the ModelState value. BUT I would kinda view that as a hacky way of getting around the problem.
The real issue has more to do with the flow of the posts and requests. I would personally look into that and maybe implement the PRG (Post Redirect Get) pattern.
HTHs,
Charles
Following on from what Charles/Charlino said:
Model binding updates the ModelState object, which contains validation and model binding errors that are collected during model binding.
Inside an action method, model binding has occurred already to update the model, and generated the ModelState object. If you now update the value on the model inside the action, you must also manually update the model state (since the helpers use it to generate their HTML). Below is an example:
model.CaptchaIsValid = CaptchaService.ValidateAndExpireCaptcha(model.CaptchaAttempt);
if (!model.CaptchaIsValid)
{
ModelState.AddModelError("CaptchaAttempt", "Incorrect - please try again");
}
// I'll clear the value on each attempt, to force them to re-enter a CAPTCHA.
model.CaptchaAttempt = string.Empty;
// Since I updated the model, I must create a new ValueProvider result...
ValueProviderResult clearedValue = new ValueProviderResult(
model.CaptchaAttempt,
model.CaptchaAttempt,
CultureInfo.CurrentCulture);
// ... and update the ModelState's value.
ModelState.SetModelValue("CaptchaAttempt", clearedValue);
The biggest issue I see here is that you are trying to do a postback within MVC. That model is really not supported, and is actually way more trouble than it is worth (as it seems you are finding out). I would recommend using Ajax to update the contents of the dropdown dynamically.
