First i couldn't start MSDTC service.I tried following link and solve that problem. link : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-ZA/winserverhyperv/thread/d3de5460-fb42-4af0-ac75-27c22741c7e9 .Now I'm having problem with missing Local DTC in MSDTC.(I checked with component services).I'm using windows 7(64bit).
I tried following steps too.But still no luck.
1)Stop the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service in the Services Control Panel
2)At a command prompt run "msdtc -uninstall" without quotes. This removes the MSDTC service from the Services Control Panel and the associated service hive along with the CIDs and CID.Locals from the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDTC
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CID
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CID.Local
3)Skip this step if you want to preserve existing configuration, such as network transactions and other MSDTC security settings. Otherwise manually delete the following registry keys if they exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDTC
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CID
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CID.Local
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSDTC
4)At a command prompt run "msdtc -install" without quotes. This reinstalls the MSDTC service and the 4 registry hives above.
5)At a command prompt run “msdtc –resetlog” without quotes
Any tips on how i can resolve this?
Now Im bored with solving my own issues.I post it in my blog. http://littlerasika.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/problem-with-starting-msdtc-and-missing-local-dtc-in-windows-7/
There is a section under the
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer -> Distributed Transactions -> Local DTC
If you go to properties you should be able to check the "Network DTC Access" box and fill the DCT Logon.
I had to mess around with it quite a few times (since my permissions were too tight) also I would suggest to restart after the new settings and do not forget to disable the firewall just for the duration of testing to make sure it is not getting blocked there.
There you go :)

I'm very new in the IT world, and I've just started learning SQL.
I'm working on MySQL Workbench, and I already did some work in it (creating databases etc...) but since I've restarted my computer (and nothing else), I cannot access it anymore.
-First problem : no connection established (a frequent solution to this problem I found is to go to Services, find "Mysql56" and clic on start, however I do not see Mysql56 there)
-Second problem : when the "Administrator" tab pops up, I have this message : "could not acquire management access for administration. Runtime Error : Unable to execute command chcp. Please make sure that the C:\Windows\System32 directory is in your PATH environment variable.
-Third error that appears when I input password for root and Test connection is : "Unhandled exception : current profile has no WMI enabled".
Any help would be welcome, I've spent hours trying to find a solution on forums, nothing so far.
Thanks a lot !
If you do not find MySQL in the service section, you must delete it completely once, make sure that it is completely removed from all systems.
Note that it is possible to delete information on MySQL.
This was a good route for me.
I had the issue when I disabled all services on windows 11,
system configuration
and enabled those services, then it working..
My main problem is I am facing the problem ->
when i am trying to execute my exe file (which i written and compiled in C using GCC). I have found the solution and the solution is to change some of the settings under gpedit.msc
run -> gpedit.msc -> computer configuration -> windows settings -> security settings ->
local policies -> security options
there are multiple files. I just want to edit files whose name starts with "User Account Control: "
Either i want to enable or disable them. How can i do that programatically using cmd/batch script?
till now i have found secdit but that does not edit the values. link -> scroll down little bit and you will find secedit. I also used resource monitor to observe registry changes when i disable something according to this link -> Use Process Monitor to Find Registry Changes. But nothing shows up. Somewhere in the internet i also found that security policies are not always associated with registry values. But i forgot to save the link. I also found this stackoverflow article Modify Local Security Policy using Powershell
. But i can't understand anything as i know nothing about powershell programming and secedit or "how to edit database". Please provide some juicy resources to learn about editing security policies.
For your information i am building my program.exe in my local computer (house pc) and transferring the generated exe in "Amazon EC2 instance". If you say compile the program in "Amazon EC2" RDP i will say that i dont need to do that because my program.exe is running fine in "Amazon EC2" if i disable or enable some of the "User Account Control: " settings
Here is everything I wanted to know -> Registrykey Values Associated with local policies and thanks to -> Grzegorz Ochlik.
Yesterday our extracts failed to refresh with the following message (image extract_error):
Failure: Failed 1 time. Sign in failed.
Resolution Details: Check the Data Connection page for necessary updates to an access token or embedded credentials.
I verified that all our passwords were unchanged and test connections which were successful.
The tableau dashboards now give an error message saying:
HTTP 404:
Unable to connect to the server "localhost". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database. (image tableau_error)
Further, when I opened the Server Status page, I saw that our one of our two Vizql, backgrounder and data servers were down. We have two of each and only one of them is active for all three of them. (image server_status)
So, I decided to remote desktop into the server and run the tabadmin status -v command and strangely it is showing that all processes are running. (image tabadmin_status)
Finally, I opened a case with Tableau Customer Portal and letting them know about this issue (they asked me send them the log.zip file) but the mean time I was trying to problem solve this issue. Any help would be really appreciated.
After trying a lot of things, one process seemed to work.
Stopped the tableau server
Configured it to run 1 Vizql server process instead of 2
Started the server again
Finally, it worked. The status page now shows all the processes are active.
Hopefully, this helps someone who is facing a similar problem.
This may be caused by a firewall issue. Since tabadmin status -v returned all as "running" the cluster is healthy and this is a false alert. The firewall rules could be allowing just the first port and not the entire range (see https://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/server/en-us/ports.htm) to respond to requests from the application server to build that fancy table with the green and red boxes.
The firewall can be reverted/altered behind the scenes for a number of reasons, usually windows updates or regular group policy synchronization.
Try disabling the windows firewall (https://www.faqforge.com/windows-server-2016/turn-off-firewall-windows-server-2016/), or add an inbound rule allowing access to all ports if your org policy doesn't allow you to actually turn it off. (Follow the steps here, except use "All Local Ports" instead of "Specific Local Ports" https://www.parallels.com/blogs/ras/configuring-windows-server-firewall-for-parallels-ras/)
I had a similar problem and followed these similar steps that Sravee mentioned above to bring the all processes back to active.
Stopped the server
Change the configuration for VizQL server from 2 to 1
Started the server
Enter the licence key (else the server status page will show unlicensed error)
Note: This does not bring the site back but this step is for 'tricking' VizQL server
Stopped the server again
Change the VizQL configuration from 1 to 2 now.
Start the server
Enter the license key
This steps did bring back the server back to active for us. Posting to see if this helps who faces the same problem. Thank you so much.
Problem: System Center Endpoint Protection keeps deploying itself from SCCM to the computers and servers after I manually delete them, even if the SCCM server got completely removed recently. Though AFAIK the deployment tasks weren't deleted, only the services stopped and SCCM related programs uninstalled. Also the server (Hostname: SCCM_SERVER) was shutdown.
If I open one of the servers and go to Configuration Manager, I see that Assigned management point is still SCCM_SERVER.
Question: Not having been delved into SCCM administration prior, how is this happening? Did it create windows services on each machine? Could there be additional SCCM administration sever running somewhere else? I checked GPO/scheduled tasks - nothing. How does the deployment work? And how do I stop it?
Also, if additional information related to the software/hardware/network is required please ask.
Regards,
Sai
Have you checked the log file EndpointProtectionAgent.log? Maybe it can give us some clues.
If you want to decommission SCCM, you could uninstall the SCCM client.
The correct way is edit the Client Settings node in the Administration workspace first.
Modify the device settings "Install Endpoint Protection client on client computers", choosing False or No will not uninstall the Endpoint Protection client. To uninstall the Endpoint Protection client, set the Manage Endpoint Protection client on client computers client setting to False or No. Then, deploy a package and program to uninstall the Endpoint Protection client.

Having a tough time with this issue. Not sure how but my ApplicationPoolIdentity is broken.
Currently I'm running IIS 8 on Windows 8 with Visual Studio 2012. When trying to debug an application from Visual Studio, or just navigating to the site in a browser I get the following error logged and a 503 error.
Application pool 'DefaultAppPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.
If I check out the Application error logs, I find the following error from the User Profile Service.
Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, and that your network is functioning correctly.
DETAIL - The system cannot find the path specified.
Upon looking into the details I find that the User Profile Service is trying to load up a profile with the Id
S-1-5-82-3006700770-424185619-1745488364-794895919-4004696415
Now I opened up the registry to try and find the profile with that UserId. However there's nothing in the Profile list that helps.
So digging around a little more I've found that this issue can be resolved by either
A) Set the Load User Profile of the Application Pool to false.
B) Use a different account for the application pool.
C) Fix the account.
Seeing how this is the built in account, I'd prefer to fix the issue rather than fix the sympton.
What I have tried
aspnet_regiis -i
Removing IIS from windows and reinstalling.
Attempted to follow the guide here but I don't know the account password :P
My hunch
Somehow the ApplicationPoolIdentity got messed up. Is there any physical folders for the built-in accounts? I know that the Network and Local service profiles physical directories exist at C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\. It is possible to recreate the ApplicationPoolIdentity profile? Or am I way off on what the real issue is?
C) Here is what i did to fix the account
Go in regedit at key
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
There is a setting called "Default". You have to make sure that the data value point to an existing directory on the drive.
By default it contains "%SystemDrive%\Users\Default". In my company the default is changed to a custom profile. Somehow, someone deleted that user profile. So when the defaultAppPool user tryed to create an accound for himself, it was unable to do so because windows cannot provide him with a default user profile.
You can also diagnose this error when looking at the Event Viewer under the Application folder. You will get a message of that type:
Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a
temporary profile. changes you make to this profile will be lost when
you log off.
