Orchard - add class or id to the body using fields - class

My questions is - how do I add a class or id to the body tag using a text field within Orchard?
So if I enter the word "product" in the text field then the result should be <body class="product">. I want to use this method instead of creating alternate layout templates as every page has the same layout but I need a different class for each page to reference a different colour scheme I have setup for each page in my CSS.
I have added a text field with the name Area to the Title ContentType in the backend. My problem is now how to get the value of the field to be put into the body in the Document.cshtml.
I have read Setting Unique Body Classes and IDs in Orchard and Using Alternatives for Document.cshtml in Orchard CMS but I still can't get it to work! The second one seems like what I want to do but so far I have been unable to acheive it.
Any answer would be very appreciated?
Thanks
Andy

I am so frustrated that there is no readily available solution found in the net about this. Since I am more comfortable coding in jquery & js...
Here's my solution: Assuming you have jquery loaded...
#using(Script.Foot()) {
<script type ="text/javascript">
//<![CDATA[
$(document).ready(function () {
var url = window.location.pathname;
var count = url.match(new RegExp("/", 'g'));
var urlsplit = url.split("/");
var page_class = urlsplit[count.length];
alert(page_class);
$('body').addClass(page_class);
});
//]]>
</script>
}

The easiest way to achieve this is to use the Classy feature from Vandelay.Industries.

How to update content of an existing jodit editor in a function

i use jodit in my website and wonder, how the content of an existing jodit editor can be updated within a function.
first i do....
$( document ).ready(function() {
var editor_adressblock = new Jodit('#adressblock', {
fullsize: false
});
});
and the editor is correctly created.
I have a function, which can be executed by the user and then should load content (via json-request) and then put the content into the existing jodit textarea.
Here is my try (for this example i have simplified the function) :
function takeover_adressblock(kunde_id, kunden_adresse_id) {
// get data by ajax.... not shown in this example
var data_by_ajax="test";
editor_adressblock.value=data_by_ajax; // this fails....
}
Means, i don't know how i can send data to the existing jodit texteditor...
I am a jquery beginner, so please don't be too hard ;-)
Best regards
Daniel
Per the documentation you seem to have the right format, so it would help to see the code for the ajax request you're making in case the issue is there.
Otherwise, I would suggest initializing the editor without jQuery in case it's a reference or scoping issue:
const editor = Jodit.make('#editor');
editor.value = '<p>start</p>';

Capturing DOM Value using GTM

Total noob here so please bear with me:
I am trying to setup dynamic FB remarketing on a client ecommerce site.The problem is that the site doesn't have a data layer setup for this process so I'm trying to scrape some ecommerce values from the DOM (specifically the product name).
Essentially I am trying to capture the product name from this code string from the order confirmation page:
<h3> <p> **Icebreaker® Pocket Hat - Black/Cargo** </p> </h3>
The "Icebreaker® Pocket Hat - Black Cargo" is what I'm trying to feed into a custom FB pixel as a DOM variable in GTM. I've been experimenting all sorts of things but nothing has really worked so far. I've already captured order value this way so I'm fairly confident this is at least possible.
On the same order confirmation page, there is also this bit of JavaScript with the product name in it should that be of use as well:
<script type="text/javascript"> var gbTracker = new GbTracker('cabelasca', 'Production'); gbTracker.autoSetVisitor(); var visitorId = gbTracker.getVisitorId(); var sessionId = gbTracker.getSessionId(); gbTracker.sendOrderEvent({ cart: { items: [ { productId: '79530', title: '**Icebreaker® Pocket Hat - Black/Cargo**', price: 24.97, quantity: 1 }, ] } }); </script>
I am hoping someone knows how to pass this value using some kind of custom GTM variable. Any nudge towards an answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
What I would normally do if I need to get some data from DOM is:
Create DOM element variable
This variable will find all necessary data from DOM. For example in your case variable should be like that:
CSS selector: h3 > p > a
Use this variable in your tags
Then in your tags just use this variable like that: {{Product Title}}

How to reset angularjs character count binding in form

I have multiple form fields in an angular view that count down characters as the user types. However, I have a button/link that should reset all the form fields and character counts. When clicked, the form is reset but the character counts are not updated to reflect the change. I know there has to be a model connection I am missing here (I'm an angular newbie). I also know it's probably best to rest the form using $setPristine();, but I am unable to get that to work.
Here's what I've got: http://embed.plnkr.co/5SGjqPhYYIZF1qp0QAAT/preview
I'd appreciate any help I can get! Thanks!
The problem is that your reset button isn't updating the Angular model values your character count calculations rely upon.
Instead of using reset on the form element, just clear the model values:
HTML:
<a href ng-click="clearForm()">RESET</a>
Controller:
$scope.clearForm = function() {
$scope.TA3 = '';
$scope.TA4 = '';
}

TYPO3 tt_news: Add new attribute to link

I want to add a new attribute to *tt_news* link, such as an id, class or onclick function.
How can I do this?
unfortunately, there is no typoscript solution to add more attributes to the "more"-link in tt_news displayList and displayLatest views. you would have to hack the extension - wich is not a good idea (*).
if you only need it to call a javascript function, then the easy solution is to use jQuery or another framework to add click-listeners to the a tags. an example in jQuery:
$('div.news-msg a').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault(); //prevent link from opening
var newsurl = $(this).attr('href');
//...do more stuff...
});
(*) don't take my word for it - see the following discussions (in german):

Div as Ajax.ActionLink

Is it possible to create Ajax.ActionLink which has instead of text, the whole DIV?
I'd like to map div on Ajax.ActionLink
I don't think that this will work using the standard MVC Ajax scripts. I believe that the MVC javascript is created to use an <a> element by default. On a different note, embedding a div tag within an <a> is not valid XHTML. What are you trying to achieve?
Using Jquery is probably the easiet way you want to go. As an example:
<div onclick="SomeAjaxFunction()">some div content</div>
function SomeAjaxFunction()
{
$.get('<%= Url.Action("SomeAction", "InSomeController") %>', function(data) {
$('.result').html(data); // assuming a partial view
alert('Load was performed.');
});
}
However, if you are dead set on using MS Ajax, to work with divs, you need to possibly look at the Sys.Mvc.MvcHelpers._asyncRequest function and do some of your own re-wrapping to make it usable. I have not tried or tested this, so use at your own risk. (Stick with the Jquery, there is far better help and support available.)
