org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader validateJarFile INFO:

- jar not loaded. See Servlet Spec 2.3, section 9.7.2. Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class
PS: I have checked previous solutions but nothing seems to be working out for me. I checked my web.xml but nothings seems to be a problem there.
There are no duplicate jar files in my lib
That's quite a weird problem, but I resolved it by carefully checking web.xml of my project. This same problem occurred when I added 1 wrong servlet config line to web.xml and it disappeared when removed it. So check your web.xml very carefully and reverse all recent changes to it - if it makes it work, just correct the config errors you just made

I simply have no clue from where to start the investigation. If I restart the server login works fine for a while... Can you give a hint?
I am using SecureSocial for doing twitter authentication. Application is deployed on Elastic Beanstalk using Tomcat server.
What is your service doing? Have you tried taking a thread dump?
This is quite likely due to running on the servlet API - especially servlet 2.5. Play is an asynchronous framework, servlet 2.5 is completely synchronous. You're asking for trouble trying to run an asynchronous webapp in a synchronous web server. If I were you, I would use a platform that supports Play natively, such as Heroku.
I have a war file.
before deploying on tc server, I successfully deployed on tomcat :
Copy the war in webapps folder, copy mysql connector in libs folder.
2.Configure server.xml
Now on pivotal tc server developer edition 3.0.0, I have created an instance of type insight (for Spring Insight).
I have copied my war in webapps folder of that instance.
Copied mysql connector in libs folder,
Configured the server.xml
When I run the tc server instance, the war starts up normally and then due to nested dependency exception, so many exceptions come and it all fails.
Some logs :
Log when the war is starting (trimmed) :

In logs you see, it is not able to create "someRepository", where someRepository is just a JPA Repository for a domain object, nothing complex.
Also nested exception this is also there:
nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/springframework/transaction/interceptor/TransactionAspectSupport$InvocationCallback
Please let me know if any other information is required.
Thanks a lot in advance for all the help in advance.
As the exception suggests, you're missing the spring transaction module on the classpath (org.springframework:spring-tx:…).
I'm using the Simple XML API to serialize and deserialize XML data being sent from an Android app to a servlet.
The deserialization works fine on the android app. But when the same code is used on the servlet I get the following error:

The highlight being java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.simpleframework.xml.Serializer
I have made sure that the jar file has been imported in Eclipse. It has been checked mark under "Order and Export" tab of the "Properties" window.
Here is the code which works fine on Android but fails on the servlet:
Serializer serializer = new Persister();
File source = new File("/home/kk/workspace/testfile.xml");
Reg_info_xml parse_xml = serializer.read(Reg_info_xml.class, source);
String name = parse_xml.getUser_name();
System.out.print(name);
The class ins't in the server class path, so put your jar in the WEB-INF/lib folder of your project
I got this kind of error. when trying to read a properties file It works fine in development mode but when I trying to deploy app to tomcat this error is comes.

Whenever you make an Rpc call, the classes involved must implement java.io.Serializable. In your case, this might have happened.
In your service class methods you somewhere mentioned one of the arguments or return type as java.io.FileNotFoundException which does not implement java.io.Serializable. Hence it cannot be serialized.
EDIT : This might help you Serialization Exception while making an RPC call
Every exception that could go to the client-side has to be declared in a throws clause in your RemoteService interface.
If it's working in DevMode, it's probably because you don't have such an exception. You have to find the cause of the FileNotFoundException.

This is a bug in Netbeans. To solve it, either turn off the "compile on save" option in Netbeans, or upgrade it to latest 7.2, or throw it away and use Eclipse or IntelliJ.
