I am developing iPhone application that persists data to a SQLite3 database.
Also I am using Kal calender. Here I able to get Calender successfully But when I inserted Date from SQLite3 database. It get crashed by giving error:
Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[NSNull cc_componentsForMonthDayAndYear]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3f8a85e0'
I am not getting what's wrong going here..
I have go through several search pages..
I tried to solve this by two way feting double as NSDate like
[NSDate dateWithTimeIntervalSince1970:sqlite3_column_double(selectstmt, 4)]
and this way to Fetching NSDate using NSDateFormatter [dateformate dateFromString dateString]
please help me regarding this ASAP...
I think some values are not retrieved correctly,
Check whether the object that is used to call "componentsForMonthDayAndYear" contains value.
provide a null check before calling "componentsForMonthDayAndYear" method which will help you to avoid this type of exception
if (object != NSNull.null) {
[object cc_componentsForMonthDayAndYear];
}

When I follow this tutorial, it gives me an error on the [playercontroller release]; line, so I remove it, and then it gives me these errors when I try to run it.
I tried making another app to test the video, and it works seamlessly, but it will not work in my main app. Can anyone help?
And when I reimported the framework, and tried to play the video, it gives me this error:

I take it GVE1ViewController is a class you wrote yourself? Does it definitely implement a method called GrommeVideoExcerpt1? Is what you assigned to the variable actually an instance of GVE1ViewController (or a subclass?) Put in an NSLog to check that it really is an instance of GVE1ViewController.
To do the NSLog, you need a line of the form:
NSLog(#" My controller = %#", myVar);
where myVar is whatever variable you have containing a reference to the GVE1ViewController.
Ok so yesterday I had some trouble with this error, turned out I just needed to be patient and read through more of the book. This time I have got to the end of the project and I am getting this error at a different point.
I have isolated the line of code causing the issue but I'm not sure what the issue is!
htmlString=[htmlString stringByAppendingString: appDelegate.savedNumber];
Debug console is saying:
2012-08-09 13:06:47.235 tester[1357:c07] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[__NSCFConstantString stringByAppendingString:]: nil argument'

terminate called throwing an exception
Anyone have any ideas? :)
It is because appDelegate.savedNumber is nil (does not set) . And why it is nil this is another question.
Looks like exactly what's written, you're passing nil argument to the method. Check if your savedNumber is a valid string object.
I am trying to grab a path value from an array for an NSURL to set an icon in my app. I get an
NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[__NSArrayI length]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x5622590.
If I use an nslog I get the expected output:
NSLog(#"%#",[[wforecast.wicons objectAtIndex:0]valueForKey:#"nodeContent"]);
Which gives me:
Im setting the value as follows
NSURL *urlpath;
NSString *urls = [[wforecast.wicons objectAtIndex:0] valueForKey:#"nodeContent"];
urlpath = [NSURL URLWithString:(NSString *)urls];
I appreciate this is a longwinded way of doing things but I was trying to break up the individual components to find out what was going wrong but I am at a loss!
You have essentially the same problem as this other questioner had. You passed an object that is not an NSString where you needed to pass an NSString.
Use the debugger to determine exactly where the exception occurred. If you haven't done this, I wouldn't be so sure that the code you showed is what caused it; the debugger will tell you where the exception occurred with no room for doubt.
Once you've found where the exception occurred, you can examine the object that you passed, and look back at where you got it from. You need to fix either how you retrieve the string or how you stored it in the place you're now getting it from.
need help desperately ahead of a demo in a few hours... App was working on my test device fine last night. Added some data (as I always do) this morning and now I get this error during a save operation:
Serious application error. Exception was caught during Core Data change processing:
*** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value
(key: _ContentChange_OldIndexPathKey) with userInfo (null)
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException',
reason: '*** -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value
(key: _ContentChange_OldIndexPathKey)'
The funny thing is that if I download my sqlite file to my Mac and feed it into the simulator, everything works just fine. The crash only occurs on the test device.
Any ideas?
I too was encountering this error. Nullifying the NSFetchedResultsController delegate does stop it from crashing, but is not a fix. The problem seems to be specifying a sort key in the NSFetchRequest which is null for some objects. Some sort call made in NSFetchedResultsController expects none null values.
This is an old post but I will give my comment anyway :)
I have experienced similar problem and deleting the cache for the NSFethedReultController solved the problem.
[NSFetchedResultsController deleteCacheWithName:<cacheName>];
I have an object which holds a title and an indexReference. I save the object to an array and that works correctly.
I then try to load from the array and populate the tableview.
I use this code.
//fill it with contents
SavedFav *temp = [tableViewData objectAtIndex:indexPath.row];
cell.textLabel.text = temp.title;
I then get an error as the following
2010-07-01 15:42:46.386 Daily Quote[1308:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[NSCFString title]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x23f6688'
What is causing this problem?
Thanks in advance.
"temp" is a string obviously, so it's too many answers to give, either you filled tableViewData with strings and trying to obtain title from a string (which is unrecognized) or you have problem with memory there, without seeing more code it's hard to say.
however try
cell.textLabel.text = temp;
and check what's inside, that will give you a good lead.
