Is it possible to integrate facebook in my app using quickblox sdk instead of facebook-ios-sdk ?
Sure, you can.
Download latest version of QuickBlox iOS SDK
http://quickblox.com/developers/IOS (1.2.0)
Make query
[QBUsers logInWithSocialProvider:#"facebook" delegate:self];
Enter you login & pass into webform
Catch result
// QuickBlox queries delegate
-(void)completedWithResult:(Result *)result{
// success result
if(result.success){
// User Login
if([result isKindOfClass:QBUUserLogInResult.class]){
QBUUserLogInResult *res = (QBUUserLogInResult *)result;
// Here is your Facebook access token
NSString *fbAccessToken = res.socialProviderToken;
NSDate *fbAccessTokenEpiresAt = res.socialProviderTokenExpiresAt
// Make query to Facebook Graph API with your access token
// ...
}else{
NSLog(#"Errors=%#", result.errors);
}
}
Also, You can see at ChattAR https://github.com/QuickBlox/ChattAR-ios src - we made some queries to Facebook Graph API without Facebook-ios-sdk
p.s. could you use 'quickblox' tag in QuickBlox related questions, thx.
You don't have to use the facebook sdk, it's just better to do so because they made the sdk, it's stable, it works... why recreate the wheel but, by all means, if you only want to do something simple then go for it.

I need a web and mobile application which will work on android, iphone and windows as well.
I want to use facebook login for my apps and customer can like my page after login thats why i am using cordova to convert my web app into android app but i need to integrate facebook-like option which i didn't get in plugin.
So i implemented this using oglike
$scope.facebookLike = function() {
if($localStorage.hasOwnProperty("accessToken") === true) {
$http.post("https://graph.facebook.com/me/og.likes?access_token="+$localStorage.accessToken+"&object=https://www.facebook.com/Nxtlife-Technologies-Ltd-UK-180614345644169/?ref=br_rs");
alert("like sucessfully done");
} else {
alert("Not signed in");
$scope.facebookLogin();
}
}
Problem:
The code will not throwing any error but after success message it didin't make any changes to my page. like count is remains same.
og.likes is for Open Graph objects – external URLs, outside of Faceook.
You can not like Facebook pages by any other means than the official Like button.
I have been searching for tutorials on google for posting some text on google plus. But it seems like there are none.
I have also tried to go through the docs provided by google for developers of mac and iPhone but can't find anything that will solve my problem. Also there are little information on how to get the user login to there google plus account.
I am not sure what to do for the user login, do I have to use some GTLObject or use UIWebView like foursquare for user login.
Here is a list of docs that I had went through.
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-objectivec-client/wiki/Introduction
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-objectivec-client/wiki/BuildingTheLibrary
http://code.google.com/p/gtm-oauth2/
As it turns out there are only a limited number of api's available for google + developers and that also only as GET calls according to the developer of google + page my question will not get any definite answers as google is in the process of creating new api's for accessing user information on google plus.
https://developers.google.com/+/api/
Also you can use the google client sdk provided by google but it is much easier to show a webview for user login. I managed to get the people list from google plus.
The steps are same as for getting the access token as in foursquare. Just with some small changes.
in viewdidload method.
NSString *authStr = #"https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth?client_id=client_id&redirect_uri=http://somevalidurl.com&scope=https://www.googleapis.com/auth/plus.me&response_type=token";
as a url for loading request in webview. People should note one thing here that you need to create a client id in api console for your app that is web based and not as installed for this purpose as you wont we getting any option to enter any website url for callback which is very important in this case.
and in webview delegate method webViewDidFinishLoad:
NSString *urlStr = [[webView.request URL] absoluteString];
NSArray *array = [urlStr componentsSeparatedByString:#"access_token="];
if(array.count > 1)
{
NSString *oauth_token = [[[array objectAtIndex:1] componentsSeparatedByString:#"&"] objectAtIndex:0];
//do something with the oauth token after this.
}
I wrote a code snippet to signin and post simple text to Google Plus with URL and thumb Image URL.
Try it

It looks like Twitter registers the URI scheme of twitter://, but after playing around with it I can't get it to directly open a user's profile. I've tried:
twitter://username
twitter://user/username
twitter://profile/username
with no luck. I'll need it to work on Android as well.
Thoughts?
I found two URL schemes for twitter tweetie:// and twitter://:
tweetie:///user?screen_name=jessicaalba
twitter:///user?screen_name=jessicaalba
On this wiki site you can find a lot of other iphone url schemes (including twitter)
Doesn't seem to be official documented anywhere so I wouldn't count on all versions of the Twitter app supporting it but http://groups.google.com/group/twitter-development-talk/browse_thread/thread/92b958b7af002993?pli=1 gives a hint that might be worth a try:
I just found that "twitter:///user?screen_name=tvdw" works as well.
I know you are looking specifically to open it up with the official Twitter app but what if the person doesn't have the app, then the functionality will not work in your app.
Why not just use MGTwitterEngine in this case since it will work for everyone and it will remain in your app?
For those wondering how to test if the scheme executes:
- (BOOL)openURL:(NSString *)url
- (void) clickTwitter {
if (![self openURL:#"twitter:///user?screen_name=mufumbo"]) {
if (![self openURL:#"tweetie:///user?screen_name=mufumbo"]) {
[self openURL:#"http://twitter.com/mufumbo"];
}
}
}
you can include many more and make it a generic loop.
I am developing a iPhone application in which I want to simply 'Like' my own Facebook AppID.
For Facebook integration I am using FBConnect and Graph API (https://github.com/facebook/facebook-ios-sdk/blob/master/README.mdown).
After researching, I found that I was supposed to use the following method, which I attempted to implement in the "DemoAppViewController.m" of the sample code when the 'publishStream' button was selected:
NSMutableDictionary *params = [NSMutableDictionary dictionary]; //Use an empty dictionary
[_facebook requestWithGraphPath:#"https://graph.facebook.com/163221793740496/likes"
andParams:(NSMutableDictionary *)params
andHttpMethod:#"POST"
andDelegate:(id <FBRequestDelegate>)self];
However, my FBRequest.m 'responseString' indicates: {"error":{"type":"GraphMethodException","message":"Unsupported post request."}}
What am I doing wrong and how can I make this work?
From what I understand, all I need to do is attach my accessToken to https://graph.facebook.com/163221793740496/likes. What exactly does that mean, and how is it accomplished?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. - In case there was any confusion, my post was in reference to having a user sign into Facebook with their account login via a fb like button in the application. After the user allowed the appropriate permissions, my app would 'like' the AppID with the user's account.
You can't programmatically like a page on Facebook. It would be enthusiastically abused.
I'm using iOS SDK to do Facebook Connect in an iPhone application, I can successfully login in and get the accessToken from the Facebook instance but I'm not able to use it from a rails/facebooker.
I do the call on the iPhone app:
NSString * url = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"http://localhost:3000/fb_login?access_token=%#",[self.facebook accessToken],nil];
I'm passing the accessToken to an action on the rails app like this:
#auth_token comes from the iOS SDK.
facebook = Facebooker::Session.create('app_key','secret_key')
facebook.secure!(:auth_token => auth_token)
but I get Facebooker::Session::MissingOrInvalidParameter: "Invalid parameter"
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Perhaps it's because facebooker uses the old Facebook Connect authentication method. You may need to use the official facebook gem.
$ gem install facebook
But, I am not familiar with facebooker specifically, so I could be wrong!
