Is it possible to deploy sketchflow wpf to PixelSense? - deployment

I am using Blend + SketchFlow 2012 Preview to develop some prototypes for PixelSense. I just wonder if it is possible to deploy a sketchflow project to the PixelSense table?

in theory, YES.
PixelSense is a "normal" computer with windows in essence. It runs WPF, so it could run sketchflow projects.
You could do a small and simple project to test, deploy it, and try to run it on the PixelSense table.

Use the package SketchFlow project option on the file menu and copy the contents to the machine, then you can try running it to see if it works.

Maui Blazor Hybrid - Cannot double click on the exe in the bin folder

I recently installed the preview version of visual studio and created a new .net maui blazor hybrid app.
When debugging the app, a window shows up and everything works just as expected.
However when i go to the bin folder and run the exe that is located there the window does not come up.
In the windows event logs i can see the following:
Exception Info: System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'Microsoft.ui.xaml.dll' or one of its dependencies
And indeed that dll is missing from the bin folder.
What does visual studio do to make this work? How can i just run the exe?
Right now we only support so-called “packaged” apps. Those you need to publish to an MSIX and install in order to run.

Apama 10.3: Add pysys nature to projects

I am working with Apama 10.3, in Software AG Designer. I have a project that I'd like to add the Pysys nature to my project, but the usual attempts (right-click on project name, project > properties, etc.) don't help. I couldn't find anything in the documentation either.
How can I work with Pysys in Designer, please? I'd like to be able to build my tests via the IDE, for consistency and convenience.
Currently eclipse/Designer doesn't have a PySys nature, but what you can do is add a generic eclipse "Python" nature – which you can do using "PyDev".
And then to launch pysys from eclipse you’ll need to add a launch configuration. There are various options but the most convenient for this purpose is the “external tool” eclipse feature.
You need to invoke pysys.py with the right environment for locating python and also Apama if you want to use it with the Apama extensions. If you’re using PySys with Apama 10.3.1+ this is easy as you can use the new capability of the apama_env.bat script to execute a command e.g. ${apama_home}\bin\apama_env pysys run –n 0 –purge. If you’re on an earlier version I’m afraid you probably need to create a trivial .bat script of your own that first runs apama_env and then pysys %*
You'll want to set the working directory in the eclipse launch config go ${project_loc}/tests so it runs all tests. Or alternatively, ${selected_resource_loc}, to invoke a specific test subtree. You could create separate launch configs for both use cases.

NUnit 3.2: Autorun tests after compile (Windows)

On a new VS solution, I've started using NUnit 3.2. Older versions (2.6) had a external NUnit GUI, that made it possible to watch assemblies and automatically run tests on modifications. But I cannot find anything similar to this for 3.2 - neither in the docs nor through Google.
I've installed NUnit.3.2.0.msi, I've also installed the NUnit3 Test Adapter in VS + NUnit3.2 nuget package for my project.
I can easily run all my tests through VS' Test Explorer. But I miss some way to run them automatically. Anyone know how?
In older versions of Visual Studio, there used to be an option to run tests after every build, but it was removed. It was always buggy and tended to lock files and prevent you from rebuilding.
You could set a post build command on your test project to automatically run NUnit console whenever your test project recompiles. You have NUnit console installed, so you could point to that, or use the NUnit.Runners package to install it into the packages folder of your solution.
Open your test project settings and go to the Build Events tab. Click on Edit Post-Build. Enter the following;
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NUnit.org\nunit-console\nunit3-console.exe" "$(TargetPath)"
Now, whenever you build, your tests will be run and the results will appear in the output window.
Maybe not ideal if there is a lot of build output after your tests but it works.
FYI, the colour in the build output is a side-effect of the VSColorOutput Visual Studio extension, it is not from NUnit.
Visual Studio captures STDOUT, so I haven't been able to get it to open a CMD window and run the tests. If anyone knows how to do that, add a comment and I will update.
There is a GUI for NUnit 3 under developement on GitHub - but it's not advised for production use yet.
We set our tests up using the NUnitLite runner. This allows you to turn your test assembly into an executable - and on run, will launch the console and run all tests. [Documentation]

Make automatic deployment in Visual Studio

I want to create automatic deployment system in my Visual Studio 2013 without TFS.
The basic algorithm that I want to implement:
Clean Solution.
Build Solution.
Copy Files To Server.
Run All Tests.
If (TestFailed)
5.1. Then Run-Rollback-Script.
5.2. Else Run-Success-Script.
And if it possible, I want it to run only in specific solution condition (Release).
Is it possible to do that?

Cannot deploy web.testing.config to the build server

I am learning TFS 2010 from scratch and no doubt making every mistake in the book.
I have created a web.testing.config for my build to the test server.
In my build process I click the plus sign for "Items to Build" in "1. Required" and I specify "Any CPU | Testing".
The build clean compiles but ... I still seem to be using the web.config file I use in development rather than the one I want in testing.
The first line in web.testing.config is
This should ensure that any differences in this file are implemented.
So I am not sure I am configuring the build properly, or if the web.testing.config is set properly.
What you are looking for is a feature called web.config transforms, and it works slightly differently.
In Visual Studio right click on web.config and choose option Create Tranforms -- if you have not done this already.
Read samples on using tranform syntax, the link is in the web..config created for you. You will need it.
In TFS team build, create a separate step in your build template to build deployment package. The command is in this thread. This will create a deployment package -- a file with .zip extension.
To deploy the package, use WebDeploy tool. It has both UI and command line if you want to make it completely automated.
