does anyone has experience with Broadsoft with php or zend framework? I have to access a Broadsoft platform with zend framework over soap, but there is no wsdl file...

For the most part, the Broadsoft/Broadworks WSDL file sits at this URL (WITH YOUR DOMAIN)

Wimzel and idanek both basically hit it on the nail. I've been developing for Broadsoft BroadWorks for about 6 years now. Broadsoft treats everything as an OCI Command. In the Java or C# world, you'd rely on BroadSofts provided XSD schema paying particular attention to the release version matching your BroadSoft servers version - with java you'd then use xml-beans or jax-b to read in the XSD schema and generate your java code in C# you'd use xsd.exe. In the case of Broadworks R20SP1 this generates roughly 4300 java classes O_o. I've also done the same thing using C#.

Note - technically you can just create a raw TCP socket on port 2208 (default), authenticate, login (all using OCI "Commands") and use the same J-Session Id for all subsequent calls if done in a timely manner. You can create all the OCI commands XML from scratch - but if you were trying to create a provisioning system or something this may be quite painful. Generally at the simplest provisioning a group, user and phone in Broadsoft is a minimum of about 15 API calls/commands
That is the first step, second step is to create OCI-P messages from XSD shema.

You can make a request from the browser (might be Dart) to the server (probably in Dart according to your question) and the server has to forward the request to a service running in Java or an application built in Java which generates the PDF file and returns the file (or the path to the file) to the Dart server which itself serves it to the browser.
You can make a Java service that accepts HTTP requests directly and skip the Dart server. The Browser can then directly access the Java service that generates the PDF and receive it from there.
It all depends how your infrastructure looks like.
(I don't know Jasper Reports, it might offer some functionality that makes this easier. This is just a generic answer).

There seems not to be a dedicated Dart client available (like this one for PHP) but Dart is quite capable of accessing a REST API. It's just a bit more manual labor to access the server than with customized a client library.
I have a couple of web services running on JBoss 5.1.0 GA with JBossWs native stack (shipped with JBoss 5.1.0 GA binary)
These web services are simple POJO services. Many of the WebMethods exposed by the services are of Complex Object type (I call these Complex types as DTO's) and a lot of custom defined exceptions. These DTO's are also bundled in a jar file, so that they can be used at the Client end as well.
I started creating a client using Eclipse (which I understand is using wsconsume to generate the client stub) and I saw that the utility would generate the DTO's from the WSDL and I could not find any way of enforcing the utility to use the DTO & exception classes provided in the jar file.
I had earlier asked a question on this on SO and could not find any answers.
From reading of various resources on wsconsume and generating client stub using eclipse (which would use JBossWS) i have now started to believe that what I am trying to achieve might not actually be possible using wsconsume.
My question is:
Is there a better way to create a client stub which would use the DTO classes from the jar files. I am open on changing the Client generation mechanism and move to axis or any other library for Client generation if that is possible. It would also be ideal if an ant task can be created for Client stub generation.
PS: My knowledge on web services is very limited and if I am being stupid with my question here, please pardon me for that.
Why do you want to use Data Transfer Objects in Your Web Service ? Is that necessary? Because If you use such objects, those web services can be use only in Java I think. That is a interoperability issue. So If you can avoid those kind of objects that will be a good practice.
In my iphone application I am calling (by SOAP post method) a web service which is written in .net and hosted on a server, and its all working fine. But my doubt is, can we write a web service in objective c? And host it on a server? so that we should be able to access it from any of the platforms like .net, php and objectiveC.

To be honest, it can be quite difficult to really use this in a productive environment. If you want to get all the features and tools Apple gives to you (what seems to be the intention of your question), you'll have to use a Mac in order to run your service afterwards.
In my opionion using PHP for example (if you need a db also backed up by MySQL) is much easier. Almost all hosters support it and you won't have to worry about setting up a bunch of macs and connecting them via solid and stable cables to the internet (and with that: guarantee availability).
Yes. A web service is just some application that can provide a service over the web. As you can create an application in Objective C, it can be a web service the same as made in any other language.
You can make it run on any server where you have an objective C compiler, however, the framework you use may restrict your choices to the server (ie, you can write objective C on windows, but you wouldn't be able to use the NS framework)
Web services are not limited to a programming language, however you do need to find if there is any framework using objective-c can run on specific server. For example, iiS allows you to use Asp.net which could be implemented using C# or VB.Net.
From the clients who will consume web services, they don't have to be a specific type of device. I think that's the point of web services. The messages travel in between is formatted. For example, a SOAP message is using xml, and that would ensure the message travel on HTTP. Therefore no matter you use iPhone or Android or Blackberry, you should have no problem to make web service calls.
So in general, I think you have to see what kind of web services you want to create, and then see if Apple(I assume) can provide you with a good framework to do it. In terms of client side, as long as your web services are using XML or JSON, it should be well supported.

For a heavy Database based web application, nothing beats Grails. Check out this tutorial by IBM. It will show you the power of Grails and how easy it is to develop database based web applications in minutes. I love GWT and smartGwt, but will go for them over pure grails only if there is a lot of non-database based front end (client side) logic.
If you do not have a programming language of choice (Grails is groovy based, which is based on Java), you could even look at Ruby on Rails which was the inspiration for Grails itself.
Alternately, you can add both grails and gwt in the mix by using this gwt grails plugin so that you have a powerful database integration, as well as a powerful front end developer. (I haven't used this though)
Sure, but you will need to create your own RPC service to get records from server to client and to deliver modified records back the server. But it isn't difficult at all.
Alternatively you could also use SmartGWT, which is an extension for GWT with more widgets, etc. They have data bound objects but in free version would would need to create your own data sources. If you decide to buy a license they seem to have database integration out of the box.
And additional note to consider with SmartGWT is that it has relatively big download size - about 3MB uncompressed and almost 1MB compressed (HTTP server should compresse it; it is in HTTP standard and it is transparent). So if it is going to be a service in public internet it might get quite long to load (often exceeding magic 8 seconds).
I had been working on GWT (Google Web Toolkit) for 1.5 years and learned that its a perfect platform for developing web application which uses backend database for its operation unless you have the right skill sets working on your project and a basic design which is developed according to the requirement of your project.
For web application development, I've been steeped in dynamic languages such as Ruby, PHP, and Python. Using popular frameworks for these languages, all my knowledge about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript transfers fairly straightforwardly: templates are basically HTML with embedded code that the server executes to generate the dynamic sections of the page.
Lately, I've been thinking about using GWT for building the UI of my next project. At this point, I'm just trying to wrap my head around how development with GWT works, as seems to follow an entirely different paradigm. In addition, it seems there's an unstated assumption that the server-side part of the app is written in Java. Would it be impractical to use something other than Java for the server side?

While not actually impractical I would say that you get the most value from GWT by having the same code on client and server, since it allows for easy code reuse (fx. if your data objects are serializable then you could just send them directly to the client). So I guess my answer would be; yes you can do it and it's going to be more work than just having Java on the server side.
I don't think there's any requirement that you use Java on the server. At the end of the day, GWT compiles Java to JavaScript. You can do all the comms via the RequestBuilder object, you don't have to use the RPC services.
I guess the question is: if you don't like/know/prefer Java on the server side, why would you use it on the client when it's effectively an abstraction over JavaScript anyway?
There is no requirement to use Java on the server side. GWT supports JSON out of the box. Any server side component that can generate JSON ( or other supported serialization methods ) will work. You could use PHP on the server side, or bash shell scripts, it doesn't matter to the Javascript code that is generated by GWT.
Yes, it can be practical. I use Rails as my backend and GWT/GXT as my frontend. I love every bit of it! I couldn't stand worrying about browser incompatibilities, so GWT/GXT was a real joy. Also, I had already started my backend in Rails and did not have much experience with Java on the server, so I stuck with Rails.
You may want to take a look at an appropriate GWT Rest framework, as you won't be using RPC.
As an aside, there is one exception where you should use Java on the server. That's if you want to use Google App Engine.
