I am trying to support my webapp on the Nexus 7 using Chrome.
I tried installing the android SDK, and creating a avd like the Nexus 7 with the Google Tools, and after waiting 10 minutes for it to boot up, I found no Chrome, and an emulator that is so slow that it is completely useless. (I am testing a video app, and this thing cant decode a video in real time)
I have done all my iOS testing with the device simulator, and it works well.
Do I have some setting wrong that is causing problems, or am I just wasting my time?
The emulator might be okay for Android applications, but for web applications, you're probably going to need the real thing.
Even the recent Emulation options in Chrome 32.0.1700.76 m, do not match the same rendering on an actual Nexus 7.

I have a website that loads perfectly on various browsers on Windows Laptop, Android and Fire OS. The same site refuses to load on a Safari on an iPhone.
It is an angular application. While I see the index.html load, the angular does not load. I need to debug to figure out what is happening. I only have a Windows 10 laptop. How can I debug the website running on Safari on an iPhone from my Windows 10 laptop?
If you only have a windows laptop, you will need an online service like browserstack. There is no way around this. Physical Iphones can only be debugged with Safari, running on physical Mac desktops or laptops. Browserstack is a subscription service, but it will be a lot cheaper than buying the hardware. Building and debugging websites and web applications for mobile devices can be a hassle. On the desktop we have powerful debugging tools; most browsers have a web inspector of some kind. But we don’t have those tools for devices like the iPhone and iPad … that is, until now!

I have Samsung device with stock browser that called Internet.
The device is over 4.4 version.
I'm trying to remote debug the stock browser on a real device without success.
Already succeeded to remote debug chrome.
Is it possible on a real device and not on emulator?
The problem is just Samsung's stock browser
Hi!, Appium started to work with Android's stock browser (named.. Browser) since v1.3, the actual problem is the Samsung stock browser isn't Browser, it's Internet! These both apps are different (shame on Samsung!, not Appium guys fault). All other Android distributions that stock browser is Browser are working fine with Appium >= v1.3 as I've said before.
Emulator stock browser is Browser, that's why it's working for you on Emulator!
Why Appium doesn't work with Samsung's stock browser?
Appium are built to work with Chromium WebView (present on Chrome and Browser) , and Internet does not have it. So it doesn't work with Appium now, and probably won't work never, as Appium's maintainers does not have any interest to do the automation outside Chromium WebView. See this issue for more information: https://github.com/appium/appium/issues/4509
Ok, but how do I use Appium with Samsung devices?
So, the only solution is installing Chrome into your samsung device.
If you can't access the store to install the Chrome app, you can download and install manually the Chrome APK into your device (or other browser that uses Chromium webview, such as Chromium and ContentShell).
PS: ContentShell is basically only Chromium webview, without favorites, bookmarks and other common browser stuff, so it's pretty good for Appium testing.
I wanted to use Instagram on my computer, so I decided to use an Android Virtual Device for that task.
I downloaded the Android SDK and the newest apk for instagram for my computer.
Then I created a new AVD and ran it. After it was booted, I installed the instagram apk using adb install instagram.apk.
It installed smoothly and after clicking the app, it started.
Now here's my problem: From there on nothing works.
When I try to login and I press the login button, nothing happens like there would be no internet connection.
Browsers and other apps using an internet connection work just fine, just instagram doesn't work.
How can I fix this?
I think it has something to do that the android Emulator can't really handle a global proxy.
Therefore hostnames get resolved directly to their IP which violates HTTP 1.1 standarts and the request doesn't get send properly.
To fix this, it is needed to change it so the hostname gets send instead of the IP.
You should try creating an AVD with different settings. More RAM and allowing GPU emulation is a good idea. If you insist on using an AVD and you have an appropriate intel CPU then you can make the emulator run much faster by following these steps. They are a bit complicated, but worth it if you want the emulator to run quicker.
I typically try to avoid using the Android emulator while I am developing apps. It has its uses, but it tends to be slow and doesn't have all of the capabilities of actual devices.
As an alternative to using an AVD, I would recommend downloading and installing BlueStacks. BluesStacks was written from the ground up to allow running Android apps on your Windows PC or Mac. I have used it before and it does a great job. Much better than an AVD.
Try visual studio emulator for android. Instagram works on it with enabled and connected wifi. This emulator works better than BlueStacks.
I have used Web Audio API followed the tutorial on HTML5 Rock. I have added one audio context with 11 tracks of mp3 files, each file plays about 5 min.
This app works perfectly fine before I accidentally update my chrome to 26.0.1410.64m (PC version). In this new version of chrome, this app crash everytime with no exception.
However, the app can work fine in the latest MAC version of chrome. And if I load smaller mp3 files (5 track that each play for 1min) to latest version of PC chrome, nothing goes wrong. I have tried to fully uninstall the latest version in my win8 PC and install early version of chrome, the problem still exists.
Anyone has any idea about this problem? It really freaks me out.
I have installed android tools and eclipse successfully (making the hello World and hello widget examples) and have run these successfully on the Xperia X10 add-on that I downloaded from the developer site of SE.
However, my phone is running the updated Android 2.1, and any apps that I make will either have to run on 1.6, or will not be able to be tested on the Xperia X10 during development without moving it to my physical phone.
I have contacted Sony and they told me there is no add-on with 2.1 on it. And that is all they would say.
My Question:
Is there anyone out there who has developed for this phone, who knows what to do? Do I somehow run the SE update tool on the virtual phone to upgrade the OS of the image? Or am I missing something much more obvious?
As of April 2011, this is (an estimate of) Android usage share:
That's 3.5% for Android 1.6 and 2.7% for Android 1.5. As time goes by, those percentages will only decrease.
Just develop for 2.1.
Why do you prefer to use the emulator, anyway? Most Android devs (myself included) have found that the emulator is painfully slow, and it's just plain easier to plug in a real phone and test on that.
You can use the adb for getting your phone in debug mode.
Or you can just install your APKs via OTA or via USB in your physical phone.
Or you could just develop on 2.1 knowing that almost everything will work. I don't get the problem, really.
