Eclipse Maven release plugin - eclipse

I'm trying to generate a release with goal release:prepare, but when I run it on Eclipse I got the error:
Failed to execute goal
org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-release-plugin:2.0-beta-7:prepare
(default-cli) on project mwframework: Can't run goal clean verify:
Error while executing process. Cannot run program "mvn" (in directory
"/home/gnng/Development/work-7-maven/mwframework"):
java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory -> [Help 1]
I'm using Eclipse Maven Embedded, what I doing wrong?
Thanks in advanced.

The Maven release plugin always fork a child Maven build. So, you need to use external Maven installation (e.g. configure it in Eclipse).

RapidClipse Error

Am new to RapidClipse. I tried running it and got this error.

Please help.
RapidClipse projects are maven projects who are build with a maven plugin.
The 'Maven Project Builder' itself uses some additional plugins, among others the "maven-resources-plugin".
If a plugin doesn't exist in local repository, maven searches for it in remote repositories and tries to download it automatically to the local repository (default location: .m2/repository folder in user home directory).
This process fails here.
You can trigger the resolve-and-download process manually:
Be sure there is a working internet connection and, if necessary, the proxy settings are correct.
Rightclick on a Rapidclipse project in ProjectManagement or Project Explorer and go to Maven - Update project
Activate the checkbox Force Update of Snapshots/Releases and finish the dialog with OK
After that, the building process for the project should work.

Eclipse Maven errors when I'm only using Gradle

I began to get errors after downloading Nodeclipse and creating a Gradle project with New Gradle Project -- sample project "Java Quickstart". Whenever I re-open Eclipse, I get this error:
"Updating Maven Dependencies" has encountered a problem. An internal
error occurred during: "Updating Maven Dependencies".
org/eclipse/m2e/core/internal/project/registry/ProjectRegistryRefreshJob$1
I have never used Maven, but I tried to investigate the error. When I try to open Preferences > Maven, or most (but not all) of its subfolders, I get:
Unable to create the selected preference page. An error occurred while
automatically activating bundle org.eclipse.m2e.core.ui (545).
I looked on Maven Central and there is no m2e folder in org/eclipse. I also looked in Eclipse/features for pom.xml files and I have folders starting with org.eclipse.m2e, but no org.eclipse.m2e.core.ui.
Edit:
I created a new workspace and got the same error message as soon as I created a New Gradle Project based on Java Quickstart sample project. I did this twice and the second time Eclipse logged an error. Some relevant lines from the stack trace:
Exception:org.osgi.framework.BundleException: Exception in org.eclipse.m2e.core.internal.MavenPluginActivator.start() of bundle org.eclipse.m2e.core
Exception:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/eclipse/m2e/core/internal/project/registry/ProjectRegistryRefreshJob$1
at org.springsource.ide.eclipse.gradle.core.wizards.NewGradleProjectOperation.createProjectContents(NewGradleProjectOperation.java:106)
First try to build your project from command line.
Enide 2015 by Nodeclipse has built-in Terminal Ctrl+Alt+T
run gradle build
or right-click build.gradle Run as -> gradle build
Then see and think
You are building with Gradle, so don't look at Maven preferences, but Gradle one.
Possibly you confused Gradle and Maven and made wrong preferences, you can try again in new workspace.

Eclipse not downloading the apache jars from pom.xml

I am using Eclipse as my IDE and want to build a maven program, but I see that neither my maven clean or maven install is working
For maven clean,I get the error:- "Failed to parse plugin descriptor for
org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-clean-plugin:2.4.1 "
I also tried the help mentioned in the link
[ERROR] For more information about the errors and possible solutions, please
read the following articles:
[ERROR] [Help 1]
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MAVEN/PluginDescriptorParsingException
but it is not helping
Also my maven install is not working,it shows the following error:
] Failed to parse plugin descriptor for org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:2.5
I had tried all the approaches mentioned in similar issues which include deleting the directories u nder .m2 folder, deleting .m2 folder, re-installing apache-maven on my system but nothing is working.
And when I run the same maven program under intelliJ, I could see the jar names but when I click on them it shows no contents which means they are not getting downloaded properly...'
So not able to work on my java maven project. Please help.
what is the fix for such environmental issues.
Even I tried re-installing eclipse, intelli J but nothing helps.
The issue got resolved by following the steps mentioned at:
https://issues.sonatype.org/browse/MVNCENTRAL-299
try to download appropriate maven version from https://maven.apache.org/download.cgi. and follow installaion steps mentioned.
set the "M2_HOME" and "MAVEN_HOME" as environment variables pointing to maven installation directory.restart your machine.
set the maven settings in eclipse through preferences tab.

maven in command line succeed, but failed when using the same maven in eclipse

I'm trying to build the project of hadoop. I followed the official document as follows on how to do that.
http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/HowToContribute
https://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/EclipseEnvironment
I've git clone the project, maven install it successfully, but when I import the project, or even a sub-project like 'hadoop-yarn-api', I got the following errors on maven:
Description Resource Path Location Type
Plugin execution not covered by lifecycle configuration: org.apache.hadoop:hadoop-maven-plugins:3.0.0-SNAPSHOT:protoc (execution: compile-protoc, phase: generate-sources) pom.xml /hadoop-yarn-api line 73 Maven Project Build Lifecycle Mapping Problem
Then I'm trying to mvn clean install the project via External Tools Configuration in eclipse, it also failed on:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.hadoop:hadoop-maven-plugins:3.0.0-SNAPSHOT:protoc (compile-protoc) on project hadoop-yarn-api: org.apache.maven.plugin.MojoExecutionException: 'protoc --version' did not return a version -> [Help 1]
But the curious part is that when I cd into the root directory of 'hadoop-yarn-api' and invoke mvn clean install, it can be built successfully.
I'm using m2ecipse in eclipse, and I'm sure that I've changed to the maven which is exactly the one that I'm used in command line, not the embedded one.
And I've installed protocol buffers 2.5.0:
$ protoc --version
libprotoc 2.5.0
Could anyone give me some idea? Many thanks!
P.S.
Eclipse Java EE IDE - Juno Service Release 2
m2e - 1.4.1.20140328-1905
Mac 1- 0.9.4

eclipse maven plugin problem

I try to build project from eclipse with maven and it tells me
Build errors; org.apache.maven.lifecycle.LifecycleExecutionException: Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:2.4.3:resources (default-resources) on project sceneExplorer: Execution default-resources of goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-resources-plugin:2.4.3:resources failed.
but if I build project from command line all goes perfect all resources are copied and no errors are thrown
command line and eclipse use the same maven installation and settings.xml file
why does it happen?
heh, problem was in synchronization with file system, I have refreshed project in project explorer and problem has gone
