Error when re-declaring item as record via PowerShell - "The file has been modified "SHAREPOINT\system" - powershell

We have had a PowerShell script scheduled and executing successfully for the past 3-4 months (In both Test and Prod). The purpose of the script is to update document properties in SharePoint when certain triggers are fired from external systems. Without getting into too much detail, below is the code that has been used to update item properties for a document that has been declared a record:
$recordsmanagement=[Microsoft.Office.RecordsManagement.RecordsRepository.Records]
$recordsmanagement::UndeclareItemAsRecord($item)
$item = $list.GetItemById($item.id)
$item.File.CheckOut()
$item[$sSpFieldName]=$sDbValue
$item.Update()
$item = $list.GetItemById($item.id)
$item.File.CheckIn("")
$recordsmanagement::DeclareItemAsRecord($item)
This code has worked hundreds of times without a problem. For some reason, this code started bombing a week ago on the last line (when re-declaring as a record):
System.Management.Automation.MethodInvocationException: Exception calling "DeclareItemAsRecord" with "1" argument(s): "The file /lib/folder/file.pdf has been modified by SHAREPOINT\system on 10 Oct 2012 00:00:47 -0500."
The other weird part is that this is only happening in Prod. The Test environment seems to execute just fine. I haven't tried a fix for production yet, but I'm pretty sure I can just get the $item object again using GetItemById (after the CheckIn). I'm a little hesitant to do this just yet as I wanted to get some other people's perspective first.
Does anyone have any input on this? Thanks in advance.

I think the best bet is to get the item again after the checkin as you say.
The error message indicates exactly that. You are trying to perform an operation on a SPListItem that has been modified. So pull it again using GetItemById before you declare it as a record.
Why it only happens on some records and on some environment I am not sure. I guess Sharepoint is a bit temperamental.
Thing I would try as well:
Check if there is any workflow doing some work on that item when you check it in
Try to use SystemUpdate() instead of Update() if that suits your requirements
Good luck

I’m getting below error while I try to execute a workflow on Powercenter

Transformation Parse Warning [<<P M Parse Warning>> <<Invalid constant sun-expression>> <<Expression Error>> [TO_DATE]:invalid string for converting to Date
… t:TO_DATE(s:s:”,s:s:’YYYYMMDD’)
……….
AND SATIS_TARIHI = >>>> TO_DATE($$RUN_DATE,’YYYYMMDD’)<<<<];
How can I solve this?
This is the first time I encounter this error. Normally, this is a daily routine for our job. The parameter is successfully added to the mapping and all the other things seem okay. I’d appreciate your help.
I tried to start the workflow and got this error.
You need to define a $$RUN_DATE in mapping. Currently its not defined in mapping or its null in parameter file.
You need to set a default value in mapping like 20221221 for today.
Or else you can set it up in a parameter file like this
[folder.workflow_name]
[folder.session_name]
$$RUN_DATE=20221221
Considering this is your daily routine and up till now it has been working fine, I assume this is not a new development and no recent changes have been made. Apparantly PowerCenter got an invalid value for the parameter.
Check you parameter file and how it gets generated.
Was the process of generating paramfile executed without issues?
Was there enough storage space?
Can you verify the paramfile contents?
Can you regenerate it?
Can you modify it and provide some value manually?
Feel free to get back with some updates for more help if your problem won't get resolved by checking the items on the list above.

Powershell - The Parameter "XXXX" is declared in parameter-set "__AllParameterSets" multiple times

First of all, i'm sorry if this question has been posted before.
I couldn't seem to find and answer we could work with, so here goes..
Backstory:
Every 90 days all password of the NT-accounts will expire.
The office staff gets a notification when they're signing in into Windows 10.
However our iPad users (salesmen and technicians who are on the road) don't get a notification about the expiration.
They use an app which requires a NT-account to sign into our sales system.
Now we've found a Powershell script which would e-mail the user about the expiration of his password, but unfortunately we keep getting the following error:
"The parameter "testing" is declared in parameter-set "__AllParameterSets" multiple times."
As we do not have any Powershell programming skills, we have no idea what going wrong in the script.
Could you guys help us?
The following script is being used (ofcourse edited with our SMTP server and e-mail addresses).

Much obliged :-)
the code you 1st linked to never, EVER mentions parameter sets. not once. [grin]
the code in your 2nd link mentions it # 106 = __AllParameterSets.
that it IS NOT a parameter set attribute, but is some "other thing". it looks like a call to something in python.
there is no other mention anywhere in your linked code of that __AllParameterSets thing.
so, the fix is to remove it OR to rename it something that does not use a powershell keyword. [grin]

Why would LayoutObjectNames return an empty string in FileMaker 14?

I'm seeing some very strange behavior with FileMaker 14. I'm using LayoutObjectNames for some required functionality. On the development system it's working fine. It returns the list of named objects on the layout.
I close the file, zip it up and send it to the client, and that required functionality isn't working. He sends the file back and I open it and get a data viewer up. The function returns nothing. I go into layout mode and confirm that there are named objects on the layout.
The first time this happened and I tried recovering the file. In the recovered file it worked, so I assumed some corruption had happened on his end. I told him to trash the file I had given him and work with a new version I supplied. The problem came up again.
This morning he sent me the oldest version that the problem manifested in. I confirmed the problem, tried recovering it again, but this time it didn't fix the problem.
I'm at a loss. It works in the version I send him, doesn't on his system. We're both using FileMaker 14, although I'm using Advanced. My next step will be to work from a served file instead of a local one, but I have never seen this type of behavior in FileMaker. Has anyone seen anything similar? Any ideas on a fix? I'm almost ready to just scrap the file and build it again from scratch since we're not too far into the project.
Thanks, Chuck
There is a known issue with the Get (FileName) function when the file name contains dots (other that the one before the extension). I will amend my answer later with more details and a possible solution (I have to look it up).
Here's a quote from 2008:
This is a known issue. It affects not only the ValueListItems()
function, but any function that requires the file name. The solution
is to include the file extension explicitly in the file name. This
works even if you use Get (FileName) to return the file name
dynamically:
ValueListItems ( Get ( FileName ) & ".fp7" ; "MyValueList" )
Of course, this is not required if you take care not to use period
when naming your files.

Apparently the issue is still with us - I wonder if the solution is still the same (I cannot test this at the moment).

What do I do when MorphX won't let me check in?

When I go to check something into MorphX VCS right now, I get the following message:
Cannot create a record in SysVersionControlMorphXRevisionTable (SysVersionControlMorphXRevisionTable).
The record already exists.
With things that have already been checked out once, I've been able to resolve this with a get latest and then a new checkout/check in. However, when it comes to doing an Add, I'm completely stuck. Is there a resolution to this or have we completely borked our VCS?
Note: this error is only given when we try to check in from a development project. Checking in directly on the AOT does not give this issue.
Just look at the table SysVersionControlMorphXRevisionTable (in SQL if you can't access) and see what the duplicate record could be. The unique index is ItemPath and Version. I doubt you'll see anything here though.
It's most likely an issue with the call in this method \Data Dictionary\Tables\SysVersionControlMorphXRevisionTable\Methods\latestVersionNumber where it's trying to get the current highest revision and is being called by \Data Dictionary\Tables\SysVersionControlMorphXRevisionTable\Methods\create.
Put a breakpoint in the create method line #48 and see what revision.Version is, and before the insert, check in SQL if the ItemPath/Version already exists in SQL.
I'd guess it's probably a server/client-caching issue. To resolve, refresh all of your client caches under Tools>Caches. If this doesn't resolve, and it's a good idea to do anyway, copy these menu items:
\Menu Items\Action\SysFlushAOD
\Menu Items\Action\SysFlushData
\Menu Items\Action\SysFlushDictionary
\Menu Items\Action\SysFlushReportServer
To a new menu item and change the property RunOn = Server. Then run these and it'll flush your server caches. If this still doesn't work, try restarting the AOS.
If this doesn't work, your users application user cache files might be corrupt. Close your client and delete the *.auc and *.kti files in %LocalAppData% folder (Typically C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local) and reopen your client.
In the environment you are using, have you restored a copy of another database somewhat recently?
Edit: Now knowing that you did a DB restore, there is a good chance your GLOBALGUID was reused and/or is causing caching issues. See here for more info about how/why this happens.
You should probably stop your AOS and run these SQL commands:
UPDATE SYSSQMSETTINGS SET GLOBALGUID = '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000'
DELETE FROM SYSCLIENTSESSIONS
DELETE FROM SYSSERVERSESSIONS
Are/were you also having issues with batches running? (Somewhat related, but I'm mainly just curious on this question)

Entity framework 6 + network

I have the following DB Model
At home I work with Visual Studio and SQL-Server on my PC. Now I took the PC at work and tried to create an EFModel using a SQL-Server in our network.
Creating the Model at work I get 44 Errors.
First curious thing (for me) is i get a msgbox with "Running this text template can potentially harm your computer.Do not run it , if u obtained it from an untrusted source..." i confirmed with ok (two times for 2 pop ups). Afterwards I see 44 Errors. After a few minutes I get the same msgbox as above again. After pressing OK a few errors are deleted (now I have 32 Errors).
Since I have the german express version I try to translate the remaining errors by structure:
"Public Property WindesName as String" has many definitions with identical signatures.
variable "_WindowsName" creates a conflict with a property "WindowsName" that is an implicitly declared member of class "Name"
I have this kind of errors for every field.
What I tried: I actually wanted to create the Model into a program, that doesnt work. Then i used a blank application, doesent work too. I reinstalled EF from nuget with no effect.
Maybe it has something to do with the model or with the network. Any help is welcome.
Ok, I was able to fix it. I changed Code Generation Strategy to Standard, deleted the two .tt files and rebuild the project. Now it is working.
