SoundCloud API: Is It Possible To Automate Both Uploads & Embed Codes Generation? - soundcloud

is it possible to complete this 3-step process via the SoundCloud API?
programmatically upload a track
(also programmatically) immediately generate and receive the embed code for that track
(ugggh...also programmatically) use that embed code to embed that track on a dynamically generated web page on our own site that would be dedicated to that clip
If requesting a simple "Yes / No" answer makes this question more likely to get answered....or just less likely to be "closed"....I'd be more than happy with just such an answer. :-)

How to reverse engineer a progressive web app ?

I found this free PWA https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com and now wonder how I could do one such myself.
Since I couldn't find any access to its source code I wondered if it'd be difficult to reverse engineer.
I'm interested in building a PWA with QRCode functionality.
This one was created with AngularJS v1.3.20. You can find the source in your console windows under Sources tab. You can easily beautify the code inside the window to make it readable.
If you want to know how they organized their rest API, the browser network tab will help a lot, just filter by XHR and examine all the call from the front end to be.
The front end is very hard to revers engineer, because most sites are served as minified bundles, so you can't see the original code.
You can however find some other information about what they used to build it, for example in the html source you can see some ng-* tags, which indicates that this is angular, you can also see that body has attribute data-ng-app meaning this is angularjs and so on.
For the QR logic you can see that there are no back end calls, meaning that it is written entirely in the client. I would search for already available solutions for that.

Panoramio api for searching by tag

I am in developing web application to allow user search Panoramio images using a tag. Would be appreciate if someone has done previously and share how you do that to me.
You'll find all the information you need to know here:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/layer-panoramio-tags
Its easy to implement, give it a go. As long as you've set up the Panoramio service correctly, it should only take a line or two of code.

Is there an open source framework to easily implement social sharing with SLComposeViewController?

I found this question on SO where someone gave a quick tutorial for how to use SLComposeViewController directly.
Everyone wants to implement sharing features in their apps and I can imagine there is a framework which already implemented a configurable share sheet that offers the user a lot of different options?
I can't imagine everyone is reinventing this wheel all the time. But I wasn't lucky finding an alternative to doing it myself either.
All I need is an overlay or action sheet which pops up with various share options. Then the user taps one, and the appropriate SLComposeViewController (or similar) will be shown.
Check share kit which is an opensource framework: http://getsharekit.com or addthis which is not open but gives you the desired result http://support.addthis.com/customer/portal/articles/381270-addthis-for-ios-quick-start-guide

How to Style Facebook Activity Feed

How do you implement custom css on a Facebook activity feed plugin? This related post does not fully answer the question. Is this the right way?
Where does the
<fb:tag name='link'></fb:tag>
go? Inside of of the
<fb:activity site="..." app_id="..." ></fb:activity>
outside of it, before or after? I'm sort of confused...
the only way i use activity feed is when its in a widget that will generically upate in all posts. Anyone who inserts these snippets into blog posts or other 'hard to find and edit later' posts and pages, will regret it
Why?
Because Facebook changes their script every month or so and the script snippet you inserted wont work anymore
I have hundreds of blank areas in blog posts where i inserted an activity feed and the script always stops working after some weeks when fb adds some code or changes the location of some script or renames a file and the old script has no canonical or generic way of readjusting.
There is no point in using a script which gets made obsolete every month and you then need to find all posts where you inserted the snippet and change it for the new working code.
Im always having to reinsert new code into my fb social widgets because they cease to function...
Not viable unless you take it into consideration. Only insert in spaces where oyu wil notice it when it stops working
As Facebook Answers answered, you cannot really style it with a custom CSS, nor via JS, as the activity feed widget creates an iframe.
The info from martincarlin87 is useful, but that is not exactly what you get with the Activity Plugin, which is what you meant I guess:
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/activity/
For using this you cannot really interact with the Facebook API, it is a little world apart. By now... (July 12th 2012)
Facebook PHP SDK: https://github.com/facebook/php-sdk
Comes with some simple examples, I would suggest uploading it to your server and tinkering with it, Facebook has a steep learning curve but here at Stack Overflow there is even a Facebook section: facebook.stackoverflow.com so just take each step at a time and if you can't get it by reading the facebook docs: developers.facebook.com then you can always ask here and I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
Getting Started: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/php/
Once you have made an app, you add it to your fan page and then you will be abel to test what information you can get using the Graph API Explorer: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer
That post you refer to is a red herring I'm afraid. If you put any HTML between the activity tags it gets rendered BEFORE the iframe is added. So its a no starter, from what I can see. However, I eventually found a solution, which I gave on that thread. I am repeating it here in case somebody searching doesn't see the other thread.
I managed to customise an Activity plugin, after a great deal of effort.
You can see the result here:
http://www.quniverse.co.uk/shopdata/about_us.php
Feel free to post a comment on that site, it exists purely for test purposes so I'm not fussed what goes up there provided its clean.
I explain how I achieved this in the blog article posted here:
http://facebookanswers.co.uk/?p=302
To summarise briefly:
You cannot insert CSS into the activity plugin.
Rely on the fact it has a transparent background, and supply your own.
Turn off the header and supply your own.
You can specify a light or a dark font, a few fontfaces and a border colour.
If you read the blog article you will get a full explanation.

Pushing news to my iOS app

What would be the easiest way to set up a way in which my iPhone app can read news data online from my website, for example. I want to be able to push news or updates to the bottom of the app such as "Check out our new app, blah blah" or something along those lines. I thought of one way, but I didn't know if there's better ways.
Keep some html file on my server (my website), and have the iPhone read that html data
Any other ideas? Anyone have experience in this field?
If you already have a blog or are familiar with some popular blogging software, you can likely take advantage of RSS feeds that are automatically generated for you.
For example, you can have Wordpress automatically generate RSS for a post type, a tag, a category, or pretty much anything else that returns a set of posts. Your application could then consume that data without you needing to manually update anything code-laden, just add to the blog and it's available in the feed.
