Recently I can not edit or add new categories in my magento shop. The whole layout seems destroyed. I really do not know what's wrong.
I've already googled a bit and also I've been able to find something (it seems that Google Analytics is to blame), but the solution in this forum post did not help me because I can not find the .fastaccess file on my server.
Also can't upload product images any more, because the button "Browse files" and so on are gone.
Here's an image of the manage categories page of the admin panel: img http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/2687/unbenannt1lk.jpg
Ok, I don't know where this problem was coming from. But I did solve it by reinstalling the whole store.

My company is using magento 1.7. The Shopping Cart link at the top has a misspelling. I cannot seem to find the code to correct it. I have tried turning on template path help, but that did not give me a location. I have checked the templates in the theme and the base theme. Where else could it be?
It turned out to be a misspelling in a third party extension, I have no idea why the extension even needed to touch the cart as it is completely unrelated. In order to find it, I wrote a program to search through all the files in app and look for the misspelling.
I want to know is there any plugin(s) where user first registered as editor then create a post or modify own post.

i am newbee in wordpress. and little bit knowledge about wordpress. please help me.
Thanks in advance.
There is a good tutorial HERE.
Works for me. It's not so super-easy, but if you want to create clone of that side- you need to understand it.
Our website was recently redesigned and since then I have been unable to get the correct image to appear when I choose link.
For instance:
If I post this link:
http://www.horrormovienews.net/article1184.html
It does not show the image of Ethan Hawke as one of the choices for me to post along with this story. I have asked a few other people (co-workers) and some friends who live around the USA, PA, NC, etc. and they can not get that pic as a choice either. One person who lives in MA can see it when he posts a link.
(This happens to every news story in our network of sites since the theme was changed on the sites)
Another bizarre thing is it WILL show the image for this story:
http://www.horrormovienews.net/article1160.html
but not the one at the top of this post.
I have even used the Facebook lint tool about a week ago to try to refresh the cache.
I have tried to many different things to try to fix thing. I changed the image path, the size of the images, etc. Nothing seems to work.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing it? Any help would be much appreciated.
You need to specify og:image tag. See your results here: http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.horrormovienews.net%2Farticle1184.html
Fix up those warnings and then you should be able to share the link much more consistent.
I am working on a small app, which can open a pdf. My question is, if it is possible to access a hyperlink from a pdf? Because when am trying to click on hyperlink nothing is happening and it's not redirecting me to the link. I tried searching a lot but didn't got any luck on this. Am expecting a quick response as my work is getting delayed because of this issue. If it's possible then what would be the approach? Right now am using UIWebView to open the pdf. Any sample app or code will be of great help.
Thanks for your time .
The only way I know is to use a third party library (or perhaps parse the PDF yourself), find the links, get their rects and catch user taps and compare that to the list of link/hyperlinks/gotos for that particular page.
Unfortunatelly - nothing in the SDK that can help. You can search for a opensource pdf library, like muPDF for instance.
There is a reason why not many applications have that functionality :D
I am using the Magento ver. 1.4.0.1 Community Edition. The problem I am running into is that Magento only allows me to preview pages that I have already saved. This works fine if I am creating a new page - but what if I am editing a current page? I want to be sure that the changes I make look good on the site before saving them.
Does anyone know of a way to preview a static cms page before saving the changes made? I'm open to using some sort of plugin if anyone knows of one.
Thanks
Currently there isn't one in Magento, you'll just have to save it and view it.
A lot of the work I've done in Magento has been done on a development server, once everything was set it got moved to the production server. I'm not saying you need two servers, but having at least a development instance of Magento will help when editing a live site.
for non-trivial changes, I normally create a new page with a URL that's not linked anywhere and then load that up to preview, before copying the content/settings to the real page.
