I have written the index of my report in word document but the page numbers are not properly formatted, I even tried to use table for it but it is still not working .

like above i ve my index. In word document page numbers are not arranged in a line.kindly help me.

Try to use instead of Whitespace button a Tab button.
And you may add a points "." at well. And numbers will be in true places

Protractor paste list of numbers into text field

I am currently trying to use protractor to upload multiple numbers eg, 23245, 23343, 34324 into a text field these numbers can be copied out of a excel spread sheet id column and pasted into the text field on the application. The application will then add the ids onto a table. Each id will have a new row. Does anyone know if this can be done. Currently I am only sending one number into the text field. But the text field can also receive multiple numbers...
I don't fully understand the question, could you provide more context? What are multicity numbers?
If I were to send multiple numbers to a text field, I would probably:
<element>.sendKeys("1 \n 2 \n 3 \n 4 \n");
Or something similar. Please provide more information about the question so I/we can help better.

Way to preserve formatting for lists when copy / pasting from table cell?

My Word interop application needs to get content out of a cell of a table in a word document. The problem is, that the formatting for some items seems broken. For example the last item of a list does not have the list style applyied. Headings are only normal text etc.
The same happens if you create a table, create a list in the table and try to copy / paste the list to somewhere else.
Has anyone else had this problem and maybe found a solution? Is there any way to trick word into giving the correct formatting?

The range includes the end-of-cell marker which should not be exported. I just noticed, when not altering the range, list are correctly formatted but the whole cell is exported as a table, which is bad because i want to import the content into another document (where this would nest tables infinitly)

How can I identify an OpenXml Paragraph as one I programmatically inserted?

I am programmatically adding an OpenXML paragraph to a Word Document and I need to be able to identify that paragraph as mine later on. Any ideas on how to do this? I have tried inserting an XML comment and extended attributes but when you save the document in word it removes all unknown xml. It doesn't matter if it is an attribute in the paragraph or the run, or an element before the paragraph, just some way I can identify it later on. Also, I do not want this identifier visible in the word document.
Examples of what I could use:
<paragraph id="myParagraph"></paragraph>
<otherelement>myparagraph</otherelement>
<paragraph></paragraph>
Any help would be AWESOME because my head it hurting from the brick wall I have been running into.

Give the paragraph a w:rsidR attribute and assign a unique value to it; if there is no value present when word saves the document it will randomly assign it's own 8-digit hexadecimal value anyway. (The value is not limited to 8 digits or hexadecimal characters. Word will not modify existing RSIDs.)
That being said -- make sure to keep RSID values unique and do NOT modify existing RSID attributes -- they are the unique ID for that paragraph, and if the document splits into multiple versions and a user tries to merge them back together those RSIDs are used to determine what paragraphs have changed.
(Also note that runs have RSIDs as well.)
If the user modifies the paragraph, the RSID of that paragraph may change.

Adding header to docx using openxml

I'm trying to add a new header (manually by using openxml code) to docx (office 2010) document which already contains a header (header1.xml).
I tried to do it with openxml by adding a file named myheader.xml with only one paragraph.
When opening the document at word, the content of header1 is presented in different position (2 lines lower) than it was before.
When I deleted the paragraph, (only <w:hdr> </w:hdr> with the relevant name spaces) the content of header1 was still presented in a different potion ( only 1 line lower)
Is there a solution for this issue?

I think it will this solve this problem as, its a little more involed that just adding a paragraph, but not much.

Japanese characters in a latex \section{} cause an error

I am working on getting Japanese documents created with latex. I have installed the latest version of texlive-2008 which includes CJK.
In my document I have the following:

\title{[Japanese Characters here 1]}
\maketitle
\section{[Japanese Characters here 2]}
[Japanese Characters here 3]
\end{CJK*}
\end{document}
In the above code there are 3 locations Japanese characters are used.
1 + 3 work fine whereas 2, which contains Japanese characters in a \section{} fails with the following error.
! Argument of \#sect has an extra }.
After some research it turns out this error manifests when you’ve put a fragile command inside a moving argument. A moving argument because section can be moved to a contents page for example.
Does anyone know how to get this to work and why latex thinks Japanese characters are "fragile".

Your solution of replacing
\section{[Japanese Text]}
with
\section{\texorpdfstring{[Japanese Text]}{}}
suggests that you're using the hyperref package. When you use the hyperref package, any sort of not-totally-boring text (e.g. math) within \section causes a problem because \section is having trouble generating pdf bookmarks. \texorpdfstring allows you to specify how you want the section title to appear in the pdf bookmark. For example, I might write
\section{Calculation of \texorpdfstring{$H_2(\mathcal{X})$}{H\_2(X)}}
if I want the section title to be "Calculation of $H_2(\mathcal{X})$" but I want the pdf bookmark to be "Calculation of H_2(X)".
You should probably use xetex/xelatex, as it has been created to support unicode. The change is sometimes not easy for already existing documents, though. (xelatex should be included in texlive, it is just different executable to call -- this is how it is done in Debian).
I have managed to get this working now!
Using Latex and CJK as before.
\section{[Japanese Text]}
was replaced with
\section{\texorpdfstring{[Japanese Text]}{}}
Now the contents pages and section titles work and update fine.
