what i am trying to achieve should be simple by theory but hell by implementation, if you think otherwise please help.
so what i am trying to achieve here is that I have my facebook page which I created a developer acount for it, and what i want is to take albums from the page to my website.
I am using the latest stable facebook sdk for .net 6.8.0, and i am assuming that the graph api is on v2.2.
this is the code i am using below to get the access token and access my albums

The data returned in the dynamic albums variables is empty, the thing that confused me more is when i use facebook graph api explorer the call work fine and it return the albums. so what exactly i am missing.
I also read in some threads that you can access your albums without the secret password if they are public but that didn't work for me either i tried it in javascript but no joy.

Since this is your page, it should be pretty easy to retrieve your own photos using Windows PowerShell and http://facebookpsmodule.codeplex.com Get-FBAlbums.

After user giving access from Facebook at first login it throws exception like this.
Fatal error: Uncaught OAuthException: An active access token must be used to query information about the current user. thrown in /home/hayvanse/public_html/application/libraries/facebook/base_facebook.php on line 1058
Yeah so we couldn’t have write token it means that yeah? But when I click to login and it works.
The first one only gives exception due to one problem and its not about Facebook token I think.
I’m really newbie on Facebook connect stuff, I updated Facebook and base_facebook library but didn’t work.

Please update base_book with this function , check the link please. Main problem was getuser was returnin 0. You have to update code like blow on base_Facebook file.(latest sdk)

When using CodeIgniter + Facebook PHP SDK: getUser() always returns 0
I am trying to build a server-to-server auth flow using the Facebook PHP SDK and no Javascript, as outlined here. So far, I have successfully created a LoginUrl that lets the User sign in with Facebook, then redirect back to my App and check the state parameter for CSFR protection.
My Problem is, that I can't seem to get the API-call working that should swap my Auth Code for an access token. I pillaged every similar problem anyone else that Google was able to find had encountered for possible solutions.
Yet the end result was always the same: no access token, no error message that I could evaluate.
Researching the topic yielded the following advice, which I tested:
The URL specified in the App Settings must be a parent folder of $appUrl.
use curl to make the request instead of the SDK function api()
I've been at this for 2 days straight now and really could use some help.

The easiest way I found to do this is to extend the Facebook class and expose the protected getAccessTokenFromCode() method:

I also included a variation on the convenience method I use to set the access token, since I don't actually need a public "get" method in my own code.
I'm using CakePHP 2.3.1 and this plugin: https://github.com/webtechnick/CakePHP-Facebook-Plugin to implement a facebook authentication. I followed this screen cast http://tv.cakephp.org/video/webtechnick/2011/01/12/nick_baker_--_facebook_integration_with_cakephp but it doesn't work, I can't receive the Facebook user information. I mean $this->Connect->user() always return null.
First make sure your user as granted access to your app. Then make a call to retrieve personal details through the api(/me) => $this->Connect->user()

I am developing a multi protocol client (currently Twitter, Facebook and Google Reader) for Windows using C# and wanted to extend its functions to send links to Facebook (currently I "only" have text status messages, comments and likes).
So I wrote this quite small method here:

But at least as I read the API docs this should be the right url and I tried it also with my user ID instead of "me" and without the UrlEncode - no luck so far.

Problem has been all the time at myself being stupid - I accidently exchanged the parameters when calling my method so the text of the entry was in the link property and vica versa.
Stupid me :(
I think your issue lies in the URL being posted as the link. Be sure that URL is visible to the linter (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint).
Another thing is to try playing with the Graph API Explorer tool and see if you can use it to post a link. If so, then try changing the application drop down to the app you're having issues with and try posting the link again.
In my case i was posting "http://localhost:3000" and facebook reject it. I tried with "www.google.com" and it works
The error I was getting was, even though the URL itself was valid, the og:image was being set to //example.com/example.jpg and missing http: or https:. I blame Facebook for this one, for not accepting a valid URL that any browser will accept, but the Debugger definitely helped identify this and solved the issue.
