}
- (BOOL) startMediaBrowserFromViewController: (UIViewController*) controller
usingDelegate: (id <UIImagePickerControllerDelegate,
UINavigationControllerDelegate>) delegate{
if (([UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:
UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeSavedPhotosAlbum] == NO)
|| (delegate == nil)
|| (controller == nil))
return NO;
UIImagePickerController *mediaUI = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
mediaUI.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeSavedPhotosAlbum;
mediaUI.mediaTypes = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects: (NSString *) kUTTypeMovie,kUTTypeImage, nil];

Play video from camera roll in SpriteKit SKVideoNode

I've got most of this working but I'm stuck with something that might be simple. Im trying to play a video from the camera roll in SpriteKit. A video will play from the main bundle, and the video picker also works until I choose the video. I think I'm locking the main thread because when choosing the video the picker freezes. You're help is extremely appreciated.

#import <SpriteKit/SpriteKit.h>
#import "GameViewController.h"
#import <MobileCoreServices/UTCoreTypes.h>
#interface GameScene : SKScene<UINavigationControllerDelegate,UIImagePickerControllerDelegate>
#end

#import "GameScene.h"
#import <AVFoundation/AVFoundation.h>

AVPlayer *player;
SKVideoNode *videoNode1;
NSURL *fileURL;
NSString *moviePath;
UIViewController *viewController;
}
-(void)didMoveToView:(SKView *)view {
player = [AVPlayer playerWithURL: fileURL];
videoNode1 = [[SKVideoNode alloc] initWithAVPlayer:player];
videoNode1.size = CGSizeMake(self.frame.size.width,self.frame.size.height);
videoNode1.position = CGPointMake(self.frame.size.width/2.0f,self.frame.size.height/2.0f);
videoNode1.zPosition = 100.0f;
[self addChild:videoNode1];
player.volume = 1.0f;
[videoNode1 play];
}
- (void)getVideo {
UIImagePickerController *imagePicker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];

Answering my own question for others who want this feature. You must set up your node and player in the imagePicker method.
- (void)getVideo {
UIImagePickerController *imagePicker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
imagePicker.delegate = self;
imagePicker.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary;
imagePicker.mediaTypes = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:(NSString *)kUTTypeMovie, nil];
viewController = self.view.window.rootViewController;
[viewController presentViewController: imagePicker animated: YES completion:nil];
}
- (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info {
fileURL = [info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerMediaURL];
[picker dismissViewControllerAnimated:YES completion:NULL];
player = [AVPlayer playerWithURL: fileURL];
videoNode1 = [[SKVideoNode alloc] initWithAVPlayer:player];
videoNode1.size = CGSizeMake(self.frame.size.width, self.frame.size.height);
videoNode1.position = CGPointMake(self.frame.size.width/2.0f, self.frame.size.height/2);
videoNode1.zPosition = 100.0f;
[self addChild:videoNode1];
player.volume = 1.0f;
[videoNode1 play];
}

how to get video from iphone Library

i want to pick a Video from Library. here is my code.
picker1 = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
picker1.delegate = self;
NSArray *mediaTypesAllowed = [UIImagePickerController availableMediaTypesForSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary];

picker1.mediaTypes = mediaTypesAllowed;
[self presentModalViewController:picker1 animated:YES];

Thanks in advance.
Try This
myImagePickerController.mediaTypes =
[[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects: (NSString *) kUTTypeMovie, nil];
or refer this
UIImagePickerControllerMediaType
Hope this helps u

UIImagePickerController with camera source with allows editing yes : video trimming doesn't work

I am using UIImagePickerController to record a video with the sourceType set to UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera.
I have set allowsEditing to true.
After capturing video I edit the video using the trimming interface and press "Use", I only get back the original recording not the trimmed version. What am I doing wrong?
I am using iOS 5.
-(void)shootvideo {
imagePicker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
[imagePicker.view addSubview:test];
[imagePicker.view addSubview:test2];
imagePicker.delegate = self;
imagePicker.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
imagePicker.mediaTypes = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:(NSString *)kUTTypeMovie, nil];
imagePicker.showsCameraControls = YES;
imagePicker.navigationBarHidden = NO;
imagePicker.toolbarHidden = NO;
imagePicker.wantsFullScreenLayout = YES;
imagePicker.allowsEditing=YES;
[self presentModalViewController:imagePicker animated:YES];
}
-(void) imagePickerController: (UIImagePickerController *) picker
didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo: (NSDictionary *) info
{
NSString *mediaType = [info objectForKey: UIImagePickerControllerMediaType];
if (CFStringCompare ((__bridge CFStringRef) mediaType, kUTTypeMovie, 0)
== kCFCompareEqualTo)
{
NSString *moviePath = [[info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerMediaURL] path];
//NSLog(#"%#",moviePath);
if (UIVideoAtPathIsCompatibleWithSavedPhotosAlbum (moviePath)) {
UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum (moviePath, nil, nil, nil);
}
}
[self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES];
}
I want to use that trimmed video for further processing according to my application.
Where I am going wrong?
Is there any other way to achieve this task?
allowsEditing : A Boolean value indicating whether the user is allowed to edit a selected still image or movie.
#property (nonatomic) BOOL allowsEditing
Discussion
If you allow the user to edit still images or movies, the delegate may receive a dictionary with information about the edits that were made. The protocol for the delegate is described in UIImagePickerControllerDelegate Protocol Reference.
I Think this will be helpful.
you need to grab the info[UIImagePickerControllerEditedImage] from the - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info
I believe.

iPhone: Open new view controller after capturing video from camera

I want to open new view controller just after pressing stop video capturing button.
I am using this code but i am unable to do this.
-(void)shootvideo
{
UIImagePickerController *imagePicker =
[[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
imagePicker.delegate = self;
imagePicker.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
imagePicker.mediaTypes = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:(NSString *)kUTTypeMovie, nil];
[self presentModalViewController:imagePicker animated:YES];
}
-(void) imagePickerController: (UIImagePickerController *) picker
didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo: (NSDictionary *) info
{
NSString *mediaType = [info objectForKey: UIImagePickerControllerMediaType];
if (CFStringCompare ((__bridge CFStringRef) mediaType, kUTTypeMovie, 0)
== kCFCompareEqualTo)
{
NSString *moviePath = [[info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerMediaURL] path];
NSURL *videoUrl=(NSURL*)[info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerMediaURL];
if (UIVideoAtPathIsCompatibleWithSavedPhotosAlbum (moviePath)) {
UISaveVideoAtPathToSavedPhotosAlbum (moviePath, nil, nil, nil);
}
}
[self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES];
// nextviewcontroller *test=[[nextviewcontroller alloc]init];
//[self.navigationController pushViewController:test animated:YES];
}
}
Just after pressing the stop capturing video button I want to navigate to another view.
You have presented the image picker by presentModalViewcontroller so you cant call [self.navigationController pushViewController:test animated:YES]; on image picker. You have two options one is simple
1) Instead of calling [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; on image picker, just call
nextviewcontroller *test=[[nextviewcontroller alloc]init];
[self presentModalViewController:nextviewcontroller animated:YES];
2) Use delegates to call new view controller.
its possible if you use performSelector with Delay time 0.2 near about ....here just call the method and its work fine
and in method you can push your nextViewController....
hope this help you...

Capture Video as well as Images in iPhone

I am using ImagePickerController for Video Capturing. I need to save the capturing video as image also.
So I selected AVCaptureSession for capturing Images. I'm not able to run AVCaptureSession as well as ImagePickerController. So I need to give the ImagePickerController as input to the AVCaptureSession.
But I don't know how to do that. Please Help me.. and suggest me for the right way.
I found only these two. Hope its helps.

UIImagePickerController: Getting image capture from video
I was having same issue.. I did work on image and video and used below code for image capturing:
- (void) snapImage: (id) sendern
{
UIImagePickerController *ipc = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
ipc.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
ipc.delegate = self;
ipc.allowsImageEditing = YES;
[self presentModalViewController:ipc animated:YES];
}
And for video recording i used below code:
- (void) recordVideo: (id) sender
{
UIImagePickerController *ipc = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
ipc.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
ipc.delegate = self;
ipc.allowsEditing = YES;
ipc.videoQuality = UIImagePickerControllerQualityTypeMedium;
ipc.videoMaximumDuration = 30.0f; // 30 seconds
ipc.mediaTypes = [NSArray arrayWithObject:#"public.movie"];
// ipc.mediaTypes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:#"public.movie", #"public.image", nil];
[self presentModalViewController:ipc animated:YES];
}
Hope will help you both code snippets.
- (IBAction) useCamera: (id)sender
{
if ([UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:
UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera])
{
UIImagePickerController *imagePicker =
[[UIImagePickerController alloc] init];
imagePicker.delegate = self;
imagePicker.sourceType =
UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera;
imagePicker.mediaTypes = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:
(NSString *) kUTTypeImage,
nil];
imagePicker.allowsEditing = NO;
[self presentModalViewController:imagePicker
animated:YES];
newMedia = YES;
}
}
-(void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker
didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info
{
[self.popoverController dismissPopoverAnimated:true];
NSString *mediaType = [info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerMediaType];
[self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES];
if ([mediaType isEqualToString:(NSString *)kUTTypeImage])
{
UIImage *image = [info objectForKey:UIImagePickerControllerOriginalImage];
imageView.image = image;
if (newMedia)
UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum(image, self,
#selector(image:finishedSavingWithError:contextInfo:),nil);
}
}
-(void)image:(UIImage *)image
finishedSavingWithError:(NSError *)error
contextInfo:(void *)contextInfo
{
if (error)
{
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc]
initWithTitle: #"Save failed"
message: #"Failed to save image"
delegate: self
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[alert show];
}
}
The Apple docs and sample code related to AVFoundation has several mistakes. See iOS 4: Take photos with live preview using AVFoundation for code that actually captures images from a live preview.
