I'm developing my first site in TYPO3, currently I have a structure that looks like:
Page1
subpage1
subpage2
subpage folder -> with images
Page2
subpage1
subpage2
subpage3 folder -> with images
What I want to do is load content from subpages of Page1 into my subpage(say images from folder would part of slider, subpage1 would be main content and subpage2 would be sidebar content.
The idea is to use templavoila and map it via Typoscript object.
Now the problem I'm facing is, I have no idea how to fetch content from current UID subpages. How would I do that in the mentioned context?
I'm not asking for a done solution, just point me in the right direction or show similar example etc.
Thanks. :)
You would need to get the list of pids first and then you can use the CONTENT TS object. Properly you can use the stdWrap.cObject property to generate your list of page ids just inside the CONTENT object.
Post a comment of you need an example.

I'm new to Typo3.
Inside the Configuration section of my own Content element I need the ID or name of the Content element's page. How would you implement that?
I already tried to use flux:field.input but I dont know what to do with typoscript.
record.pid was the thing I was looking for!
<f:debug>{record}</f:debug>
I upgraded TYPO3 6 to 7.6.x and now I can't choose custom layouts in the backend for any content elements in the backend. I only see the default options like "layout 1, layout 2". The reason is obviously that my TCEFORM addings doesn't work..
The following typoscript won't have any effect in a ext-template of a page or in the root setup.ts:
TCEFORM.tt_content.layout.altLabels.2 = Test
TCEFORM.tt_content.layout.removeItems = 2,3
TCEFORM.tt_content.layout.addItems.5 = New Item
I know the problem description is a bit inaccurate. But I don't see the relevant infos which u need. Can u give me an advice what I have to check? Are there known conflicts with extension like fluidcontent, css_styled_content or so?
TypoScript configuring the back end is (though TypoScript by syntax) often called TSConfig and can be added either in page records or via user settings but never in extension templates or similar.
Configuring TCEFORM is usually done in page properties. To add, open page properties of your root page (or the topmost page of the subtree you want to configure) and add your code there.
As in front-end TypoScript you can swap your code to external files.
You need to add this typoscript on Root Page in Page TSconfig.
Edit root page properties and add your typoscript in Resources tab in Page TSConfig section like below image, so it's work fine.
I 'm trying to build my own simple breadcrumb component that pushes a PageRefence onto a List for each and every Link in the application.
Unfortunately, setResponsePage() is final (I use wicket 6).
The only other option that comes to my mind is to add a parameter to my base page constructor. But this would require me to change every link in the app..
Are there any other options?
Since you already have a base page, it's easier to override onBeforeRender() in your base page to update the breadcrumbs list that you'd store in your Session object.
Or am I missing something?
To answer my own question:
In the end I realized, that I do not want to have the breadcrumb updated on each new page.
Therefore I created an object that holds a List of Pagereferences. When I navigate to a new Page, I take the list of the current page, make a copy of it an add the current page. The resulting list is pased onto the new page.
All this is handeld in the base page.
Keeping it in the page, avoids problems with multiple tabs / windows.
Thanks for the help.
On my page, overlays are loaded by inserting their content with jQuery and then fading in.
What I want to do is this:
When you click to open an overlay, an URI is loaded (e.g. news/12, where news is the category and 12 is the id of the item to load).
Except, instead of loading it in body, it should be loaded in the overlay.
In other words, I want to achieve something like on facebook, where you open an overlay, the url changes, but the main page stays the same.
I'm guessing you need ajax for this, but I have no idea whatsoever how to do it.
Thanks
It sounds like you want to use the new history.pushState(...) and history.popState(...) browser API.
This SO post might help you out: Change the URL in the browser without loading the new page using JavaScript
Use Boxy. See http://onehackoranother.com/projects/jquery/boxy/tests.html#
AJAX example:
<a href='#' onclick='Boxy.load("test-1.html");'>Test 1</a>
See this question: Ajax - How to change URL by content
I solved it thanks to Lethargy's answer.
.pushState() is exactly what I need to have the URL reflect the contents of the overlay that is dynamically created with jQuery.
With some tweaking around and debugging I managed to get it all working.
Now my overlays (or popups, dialogs, whatever) are search engine ready, and the url is copy-pastable for users :)
I have a Plone 4 site using collective.xdv for the theme. Overlays for the login and contact form work fine.
But if I go to edit > categorization tab and try to add a related item, the overlay is blank. Looking at it in Firebug, the tags are correct down to div.overlaycontent. But inside of that div is my static HTML from the XDV theme's index.html.
Is there a special rule that I need for the overlays?
I cannot use plone.app.theming because this site is using more than just Plone.
In the xdv configuration(or append "##xdv-settings" onto site url), you can add unstyled paths.
I think what you'll need is:
^.*/referencebrowser_popup(\?.*)?$
or
^.*refbrowser_popup(\?.*)?$
If neither of those work, figure out the url that's being requested and add it as an unstyled path.
