I have Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit)
I tried installing and uninstalling Oracle Database XE and everytime I am installing it I run into two error message. The first eroor message tell me that a file something like file C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Local\Temp{9D21B7C5-5DF8-450-B84A-48908DFACA7F}\ and when i click on it twice it goes away and the installation finishes but then when i try running oracle database xe it tell me that http:\127.0.0.1%HTTPPORT%\apex\f?p=4950 cant be found or something. I dont know what to do. Also, once igve gotten past these problems and fixed them how do i proceed to create a database. That is my final goal to create a database using oracle sql developer and oracle database xe to start creating tables and querying. Id appreciate it if you could help.
I had the same problem as you and i solved it taking the steps below:
With the error message box still open, click the Windows start button and type “regedit” in the search box. Press enter. The registry editor will open.
On the left column, expand the folders as follows: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> Installer -> Products -> 266B7A….. -> SourceList-> Media
Look for ’1′ under Name on the right column. Under ‘Data’ on the same row, the value should be ‘DISK 1′ or something similar. Right click on that row and click on ‘Modify’.
A window named ‘Edit String’ will open and type in the address indicated in the error window you had from the Oracle installer, ending just before ‘KEY_XE.reg’. It should end with a row of numbers/letters then ‘}\”.
Click OK and close the Registry Editor.
Return to the Oracle Installer and click OK on the error message box.
It will take a while, but eventually, the installer will indicate that installation is complete.
To check if everything’s good, click on the windows start button -> All programs -> Oracle Database 11g Express Edition -> Get started.
A web browser will appear and the Oracle Database Get Started page will load.

I'm scared to ask this because people can be a little mean on here but I've watched 1000 of YouTube videos and went through just as many google searches. I was trying to create a data dictionary for mysql diagram. I used this website https://dataedo.com/kb/tools/mysql-workbench/how-to-export-data-dictionary#toc_0 to help me. I downloaded the .py link listed in the install plugin step. The followed the instructions in mysql. It said the plugin install was successful and to restart my workbench. After that I started getting the error shown in the picture. I have tried everything:
Restart workbench
Repair workbench through msi download

Updated all my sql products in mysql installer
Made sure mysql services were turned on and running
I don't know what else to do. I can't even open workbench to see if the plugin is the issue because again I can't get in. I just need some help
That is a strannge error, where mysql workbench has some corrupt files.
Deinstall MySQL Workbench with the MySQL Installer
Install Workbench again
So everything will start normal again, the configuration and connections will stay and can be used again as normal
This is not an installation issue, so don't waste your time by trying to fix this issue by repeating the installation.
The error comes from the approach where MySQL Workbench tries to ensure there's only one instance of it running. For that it searches the process list for another instance and, if one was found, sends the command line parameters it got to that instance, letting the already running instance handle them (and shuts itself down after that).
But again: this happens only if another instance is found, so check your process list carefully. Filter by the term "MySQL" to see any MySQL related processes (including that of a MySQL server). Shutdown/kill any of these processes and try launching WB again.
Same issue happened to me and it was like what the heck. Don't waste your time to uninstall and reinstall because it won't solve your problem.
Solution: open your file explorer and delete the entire folder "Workbench"
Path: %appdata%\MySQL\Workbench

Just as Jr Relampagos says, delete the .py file here : AppData\Roaming\MySQL\Workbench\modules
Restart Workbench, it works for me.
With me I'm just go to C:\Users<USER>\AppData\Roaming\MySQL\Workbench\modules and then delete the .py file you install, then open the Workbench again
I'm trying to install mongo DB on my local machine with the installer from the official website. But I'm continuously getting this message, can someone help?
I've tried the solution provided here but didn't help.
I suggest doing the following:
Hit Win+R to open up you run.exe then inside of it enter services.msc to open up services. Try locating the service under the name of MongoDB Server and set the Startup Type manually to Automatic - [In addition to that, you could set the username and password manually. If you get a message saying the user was granted login as a service right, try hitting retry on the MSI dialog and see if it starts].
Important:
Don't forget to save and close everything (services.msc) before continuing.
Also very important, you should (must) check your .NET framework version and update it to version 4.5 and above. You could download a software like eg Driver Booster to update all of your drivers and additional components that are outdated.
I ran into the same issue. My problem was the installation location. I was trying to install under C:\MongoDB. I resolved it by installing in the default MongoDb location which is C:\Program Files\MongoDB.
For me this is usually an issue with the configuration file %ProgramFiles%\MongoDB\Server\x.x\bin\mongod.cfg
At some time there was an invalid option "snmp" enabled (only valid in enterprise version).
Nowadays, although the installer asks for directories for data and logs it doesn't ALWAYS seem to use these, but defaults to %MONGO_DATA_PATH% or %MONGO_LOG_PATH%, respectively. I don't know where these should be defined, but the server fails at accessing c:\data\db (which doesn't exist). So you have to correct the paths.
I also faced this kind of error. But I just change the Network service to Local system in Log On As tab.
Follow my step-by-step below to resolve it:
Press Win+R, type: services.msc, then looking for MongoDB Server (MongoDB)
Double click on MongoDB Server (MongoDB).
Then it will open properties tab. On that tab click on Log On
After that check two items i.e. Local System account and Allow service to interact with desktop
After that press Apply and OK button. That's it, cheers!!
Open command prompt and copy the following command:-
"C:\Program Files\MongoDB\Server\4.2\bin\mongo.exe"

Installing in the other locations other than the windows directory caused me this error. Reinstalling the setup with the recommended method of "complete" fixed it.
The problem occurs if you have Windows version previous to Windows 10.

Every time I start MySQL workbench I get this message
I would like to know what this means and how I can get rid of it... I tried looking on the internet and googling the entire message but no good info came up because you can't see the full message.
Does anyone know what this means and if it's a problem for my database?
MySQL Workbench tries to load its workspace data and something is wrong with it. Rename the MySQL Workbench folder (the part you can see in the message) or remove it entirely. Then restart the application and it will recreate all the files.
A side note: often Ctrl+C works in those dialogs, so you can paste the entire content into a text editor.
It's only MySQL workbench which is a GUI for data admin if i'm not mistaken (like navicat). You could simply run the mysql installer and remove/add MySQL workbench again.
As the title says, I want to connect PostgreSQL (I'm using the 9.6 x86 version) to HammerDB, an open source database load testing and benchmarking tool (I'm interested in the TPC-C Benchmark).
The thing is that I can do this connection by using MS SQL Server (2014), because it is relatively easy. However, I'm not used to use PostgreSQL. When I try to create Virtual Users on HammerDB (that's the 1st step to do, then you should be able to perform the transactions) I get the following error:
Error in Virtual User 1: Failed to load Pgtcl - Postgres Library Error
I did some research about this, and I found that, and I quote "PostgreSQL is VERY particular about the libraries in its PATH - they have to be the right ones and ONLY the right ones any other configuration will cause errors".
The problem is that HammerDB couldn't load library libpgtcl.dll. There they mention that to fix the problem, one should check that the PostgreSQL bin directory has been added to the path during install, but at this point I'm totally lost and I don't know what to do. I simply can´t get what they mean and how to do it.
I hope at least one of you could help me. I would appreciate it a lot.

Well, I have solved the problem, and it is very simple.
Everything is about Setting Windows PATH for PostgreSQL, and I found that here.
Open my Computer ==>
right click inside my computer and select properties ==>
Click on Advanced System Settings ==>
Environment Variables ==>
from the System Variables box select "PATH" ==>
Edit... ==>
Then add this at the end of whatever you find their
;C:\PostgreSQL\9.2\bin; C:\PostgreSQL\9.2\lib
after that continue to click OK
That's all. So this is what you should do if you are having trouble when trying to connect PostgreSQL to HammerDB, and in general, when trying to use PostgreSQL tools.
I use Visual Studio 2013 Professional Update 4 in combination with multiple SQL Server 2012 Enterprise servers/instances. The Idea was to create a Version controlled deployment using a Visual Studio Solution with SQL Server Projects.
However for some reason the "Update Target" and "Generate Script" button is disabled.
I can update the local database project from the sql server database but the other way around is not working. (see screenshot)
Google is not helpful at all although I found a few people with a similar problem.

But none of this questions/blogposts is about Visual Studio 2013 and in addition none of the proposed solutions is working for me.
Question: Why is the Update Target button disabled and what do I have to change to fix this?

This was driving me nuts, as well. I finally noticed a "warning" message stating "Cannot generate deployment plan due to an internal error". Because of this, the Update and Generate Script buttons were both disabled.
I resolved this by closing Visual Studio, navigating to the folder containing the Database project and removing all (*.dbmdl) files. I then restarted Visual Studio, re-ran the compare schema and the Update button was enabled.
The tip that helped me was to look at the error list. (View Menu, Error List). Once I cleared the errors (just the errors, the ones with the red X) I was able to compare the schema again and the Update and Generate Scripts buttons were both enabled.
Beside the generate script, click on OPTIONS and select only the objects for which you want to compare.
This and ONLY this worked for me.
