Hi! I am new to intelij IDEA, and I cannot get google reflection library to work inside intelijIDEA.
I've tried adding it as recommender in many sites, by going to the module configuration, then dependency, clicking on the add library icon and giving the jar file.
It gets recognised in the editer (not underlined with red), but when I try running the problem it throws a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/common/base/Predicate
so I am guessing that the import did not work.

Sure, you need to add the guava library as well, and probably other libraries.
I would search for it using mvnrepository.com, and than download the appropriate binary and add it as library.
If you're not using maven already, try it, it would save you a lot of time. otherwise, look at the pom.xml of the Reflections library, and decide which other libraries you might need at runtime.

I am working on some satellite orbit research for graduate school, and I am using the maven compiled java project OREKIT. Information on OREKIT can be found here;https://www.orekit.org/site-orekit-9.2
I believe I have built the project correctly using the steps to import a maven project into eclipse, but I am having issues getting any of the included tutorial programs included to run. The first errors I get are "Error: Could not find or load main class" and then followed by the name of whichever tutorial script I'm attempting to run.
MY attempt at solutions, which have not worked are as follows: First I attempted to create an entirely different java project with a main class and import the scripts I wanted to run, but I think this created more problems than it solved. Secondly, in the OREKIT project folder which was created with the maven building, there is a src folder. I right clicked and set it as the source. It contains a "main" folder with various contents but still the errors persist.
I probably am asking something extremely simple, and googlable but I haven't figured out what to google or what to do to fix my problem. If anyone has some suggestions I would be extremely grateful!

The Jetbrains Kotlin compiler in Eclipse outputs to a hidden folder inside the Eclipse compiler plugin. This hidden folder is then made available through the Eclipse Kotlin classpath container.
In bndtools we need a normal file system folder since bnd can run both from the file system as well as in Eclipse. Since the folder is a linked resource there is no known way to translate it outside Eclipse.
Anybody knows how to tell the Kotlin compiler to just output it in the bin folder?
Currently, this is not possible in the Kotlin Eclipse plugin.
To make it possible that Kotlin code can be used from Java, Kotlin plugin produce so-called lightweight class files to this folder. These class files do not contain bodies for methods and they are stored in memory.
Actual class files, that are used to run an application, are being built only before launch and they are produced to the default output folder. For now, we cannot produce class files on each save reasonably fast as there is no incremental compilation in the plugin yet:

From the short analysis of the code of Kotlin plugin, it looks like the proper method is KotlinCompiler.compileKotlinFiles. It is being called in two contexts:
KotlinBuilder.build — this is the one called on the project build; it makes a call stack trick (or rather a hack...) to check if being called from the LaunchConfigurationDelegate, and depending on the results, either compiles whole project (via its own private fun compileKotlinFiles), or just makes stubs in memory.
KotlinCompilerUtils.compileWholeProject — this is in fact being called from 1.; nice static method, perfect for abuse until the problem is correctly solved in the plugin. :)
So, I'd use the method from 2. wrapped in a similar way as compileKotlinFiles from file in 1.
I have created a class in Java that I need to import into NetBeans and use in a GUI. What I have done so far is add the jar file containing the classes to the library in my project. I can look inside the jar file and see the classes I need inside the . I have looked around online and know that the best to way import these classes is to move them to another package that isn't the .
My problem is that I do not know how to do this. I saw that I can create a package in netbeans, but it is gray when it appears and I can't seem to do anything with it. I basically have no idea how to create packages that I can use to import classes If someone could please walk me through step by step I would greatly appreciate it. I have looked at the other posts on this site and other places online, but they seem to skip over somethings I am not sure about. My teacher didn't mention anything about packages either, so I am really in the dark.
You can copy your source files (*.java) in your project's src folder, then use refactoring to change the package.
Right-click your java file, then select Refactor > Move and type your new package name.
I compiled the version in svn tagged as gwt2.4rc. Now there are a
couple of more libraries than I had the last time. Are the any
instructions on which library is needed for what? I tried it with only
the standard libraries (servlet, servlet-deps, user) but I get the
following error when a requestfactory call is made:

dig deeper into this? I spend a lot of time trying to figure this out
but without any success :(

Are you sure you deployed the 2.4-rc1 gwt-servlet.jar in your war/WEB-INF/lib ? Also, make sure you override the SDK for the gwt-maven-plugin: http://mojo.codehaus.org/gwt-maven-plugin/user-guide/using-different-gwt-sdk-version.html
That being said:
when using Maven, you shouldn't use gwt-servlet-deps but instead reference org.json:json and javax.validation:validation-api
requestfactory-server can be used instead of gwt-servlet if you only use RequestFactory on the server-side (no GWT-RPC, no SafeHtml, no RegExp, etc.); requestfactory-client is to be used for Java clients (such as Android), not the case here.
There are a lot of similar questions, but none for this specifically. I have a Netbeans project with a bunch of packages. Only one has Main. I'd like to be able to create a .jar from just one of the packages (and all the classes it contains, of course), which doesn't have main.
Is this feasible without having to put that package in another project or without having to screw around with build.xml? If the latter, any easy way or good rtfm links?
The point is i'm developing part of an application for college, each group member is developing a module of sorts. If each could provide their .jar the main project can just include jars and use them. I'm guessing all the mains in the jars wouldn't really hurt? But still...
You can use the project properties to customize your project's jar file content. This screenshot shows what it looks like for a Java Class Library project.
