Can't install app on iOS 6.0.1 devices - iphone

I developing iphone app with xcode 4.5. I used TestFlight for ad hoc testing.
When upload build (.ipa) to TestFlight and get the installation link. i am able to install app on my iPad 5.0.1 using TestFlight installation link. But i tried to install app on iPhone 6.0.1 it gives me error message. "Won't install this app".

The problem is that XCode 4.5 doesn't support iOS 6.0.1. And hence your .ipa file isn't install in device with iOS 6.0.1. Solution to this is update your XCode to latest version which is 4.6. It'll solve the problem.

There is another solution.
The problem
The problem is the new OS does not contain proper info for old Xcode to load debug info, while this info can only be obtained by the latest Xcode.
Solution
Install the latest Xcode(currently is Xcode 4.6, you can get it from Mac AppStore).
Connect your device while the new Xcode is open.(No matter what the order of open Xcode first or connect your device first)
Press ⌘ + Shift + 2 to open Xcode organizer, click the device icon if the organizer appears not in device tab
Wait under see your device with iOS 6.0.1(or even iOS 6.0, iOS 6.1.1) to become green
Now your new OS has enough debug information for old Xcode
Connect this device to your old Xcode 4.5. You should not be able to send app to device.
Some disadvantages
You system will have 2 Xcode, if your old Xcode is also installed from Mac AppStore, you need to download the new Xcode from Developer center.
After you installed the new Xcode, you command line tools usually use the new Xcode as the default develop tools. Use xcode-select to switch to old Xcode's path.

Please do check the udid id for that Device, or include the udid again and download the new profile and then archive with that profile. It just because of udid

iPhone with iOS 6 and Xcode 4.2 issue

I have upgraded my iPhone to iOS 6, however I am currently on Xcode 4.2 (on Snow Leopard). Now I am getting this error message:
The version of iOS on “xxx xxx” does not match any of the versions of
iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK.
Please restore the device to a version of the iOS listed below, or
update to the latest version of the iOS.
Is it possible to restore my iPhone to older version say 5.1 or some how make my Xcode to support/recognize iOS6?
I followed the following steps, to resolve my issue by making Xcode to support iOS 6:
1.First download Xcode 4.5 .dmg file from Here (You would need developer account).
2.Then mount this image and use "Show Package Contents" from context menu.
3.Then copy the following folder
Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/6.1
(10A403)
to your mac's following folder (This path may differ from mac to mac based on its version. On Snow Leopard you may find the Developer folder in Finder under PLACES section, and probably on Lion, you have to right click the Xcode.app and have to use Show Package Contents):
Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport
4.Similarly copy the iOS 6 SDK folder from following directory:
Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS6.0.sdk
to your mac's following folder
Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs
5.Also copy version.plist from Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform folder to your mac's Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform folder.
6.Re-start Xcode and re-connect the device(s).
Bingo !! now Xcode supports recognizes iOS6 device(s) and even I am able to run and debug my app (built for older SDKs) on my iPhone with iOS6 (I am not sure about iPhone 6.0 simulator though).
However, answer to How to restore iPhone to older version say 5.1 is still pending.
You cant debug iO6 device in Xcode 4.2. iO6 device debugs only in Xcode 4.5 (latest one). And most importent for installing Xcode 4.5, in your machine must have at least Lion Operating System. For efficiently debugging of iOS device, You must upgrade your OS.
I had the exactly same problem !
Downgrading iOS 6 in your iPhone is not officially supported by Apple anymore :

What works for me was to install Lion in an external HD USB, upgrade Xcode to the latest version and upgrade the Provisioning Profiles in my Apple Developer account for this environment.
Upgrade to Xcode 4.5 (and OSX mountain lion). No previous version of Xcode supports iOS 6. You can also check if you can restore your phone using a previous version of iOS by getting the .ipsw file and option-clicking on "restore" button when selecting your device on iTunes.

Why dot in front of my device is orange in organizer of xcode?

I am using Xcode 3.2.6. My mac OS X version is 10.6.8. I added my new iPhone 4S in device portal and installed provisioning profile. iOS 5.1.1 is installed on my phone. I got orange dot in front of my device in organizer and this message comes when i try to add device to portal. "Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version".
How can i change that orange dot to green so i can install and check my app in my new iPhone. Thanks in advance.
I assume your 4S is running iOS5? You should update Xcode to the latest version (available on the mac app store)
You should upgrade your Xcode with 4.3 at least.
Also make sure you only have the new profile installed under your provisioning tab on both the device and one the Mac duplicates will cause problems such as these although xcode needing updated may be the problem too like mentioned above try to go to the Mac app store and download it although if you aren't on lion it won't be available apple is really good about that kind of thing too.

How do i upgrade Xcode from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2?

Is there a way? I just need to run my app on my iPod which is 5.1 and my current version won't let me...?
This is very simple. I came across the same problem over the weekend when I upgraded my iPad and iPhone to the latest iOS 5.1. The version of Xcode I had installed at that time was not able to run applications for my devices after the upgrade.
After doing a few things I was able to successfully run applications on my upgraded devices. Below I present a few simple steps for you to follow:
1) Download the latest version of Xcode which currently is 4.3.2 which includes SDKs for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS 5.1 suitable do install your application onto your iOS device
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xcode/id497799835?ls=1&mt=12
2) During installation the installation window will ask you whether you would like to remove the previous version. Remove the previous version of Xcode and let it install the new version.
3) Once you have the latest version of Xcode installed you can run the Xcode application and open up your recent project.
4) Once you have your project opened, you may need to and certainly in my case I had to, code sign and point your project to the right development profile settings in the build settings.
5) Once all code signing is correct, on the top left you can select what you want to build to, make sure you have your iOS device connected and the button where it says iPhone simulator 5.1 to yourname's iphone
6) and then Xcode will build successfully onto your device
Download it from the app store.

iPhone shows Question mark (in place of its icon) on connecting to the Mac

I have a (dev) build for the iPhone App & I need to install it on the iPhone that has been given to me.
Now, I have added the iPhone as a device to the provisioning profile for the App.
But, When I connected the iPhone to my mac, Question mark appears in place of its icon (in XCode > Windows > Organizer). And the options under the device are limited to Device Logs and Screenshots.
And on right hand side detail appears : "The version of iOS on “iPhone” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK; which is available here." Which clearly means that ihave to update my iOS SDK for the XCode that I am using.
Is there any way to do, like without updating the XCode for latest iOS SDK, I can install the App to the iPhone provided to me ???
You just build the app, and locate the .ipa file from the products. Then drag the ipa file into itunes and then sync it to your device.
If you have got the Xcode project..then you would have to update Xcode..that is the only solution..
but if you got the build in .ipa format.then you should register your device on www.testflightapp.com and then transfer that ipa from there to your device..

Xcode not building for iPhone after Upgrading it from 3GS to iOS 4.1?

i just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.1 and also downloaded the latest Xcode 3.2.4 and iOS sdk 4.1....i was working on an application on previous sdk iOS 4.0 but now when i build the project with new sdk xcode says No Provisioned iOS Device is connected...do i need to install a new provisioning profile for the project?? i cant figure out why xcode wont build the application??
If you set up a new iPhone and did not restore it from a backup, your profiles have been lost. You need to reinstall them. Of course, you can use the same one again, as your unique device ID (UDID) does not change with a software update.
Connect your device, open the Xcode organizer (Windows -> organizer or Cmd+Option+O), select your device and click "Use for development". Then you can add your provisioning profile again.
